Pummarola is a delicious taste of Italy in Boca Raton. I asked the friendly female cashier about the meatball. Do people tend to like it? She said they did. I ordered that with a large pizza. I knew I would have extra pizza for the next day. The meatball is delicious. I love the flavor and it wad not ovetly salty. The ssuce was so fresh. The bread it came with id ok. I dipped it in the sauce and it got better. The cheese on that pizza is incredible. I ate more pizza than expected because it was so good. It had the right balance of cheese and sauce. They have lots of other varieties of pizzas to choose from. You do eat in the food court. The tables were clean all around me and the employees were keeping everything clean. It wad really light and bright. I would say the prices are good for the quality of food you are receiving. read more

If I could, I would give 6 stars to the margarita pizza! It tastes amazing, tomatoes are authentic italian pizza quality, cheese is high quality, the price of a large pizza is great. You pay more for large pizza in different restaurants fo a fake frozen flatbread pizzas.. For the pizza there are times they skip the basil so I always check the box before I leave as I am a big basil lover! I have had their chicken milanese sandwich, I wish they would add basil to the sandwich as well. But overall their bread is fresh, chicken cutlet is not dry and tomato sauce is top notch. I also tried their nutella crep and that's also amazing, the portions are very small for the crepe so don't expect a large crepe but it is still delicious, you taste the batter and the nutella. read more

I really like their pizza and their sautéed eggplant... but they don't fill up the container when I ordered delivery so I feel like I was overpaying for what I got. They also called me after I ordered online bc they didn't understand the changes. Meat pizza w/only the meatballs (not the other meats). Veggie pizza w/only eggplant (not the other veggies). Seemed self-explanatory, but they told me I should've ordered the plain pizza and then added the ingredients I wanted. The problem with that is then it costs more than how I ordered it. I ordered a pepperoni pizza; the pepperoni is extremely salty and the dough is chewy not thoroughly cooked with a good portion of the crust burned. I have seen this place every time I visit the Boca Mall and have been curious on how it is. We ordered some pizza and pasta and were pleasantly surprised. The tortellini with butter and Parmesan was delicious it was sooo cheesy and buttery a guilty comfort food of mine. The rustica pizza which had bacon and French fries on it. It was also very good it's sold as a 9 inch pizza but the one we got was a lot bigger. The focaccia was also so soft and pillowy they even give you olive oil to dip or pour on it. The service was a little slow but the pizza is made right in front of you so I don't see any problem with waiting a little longer than usual. I want to say from the onset that I love this pizza place and have been coming there for years. But the last two times I have come, the pizza has not been good. I ordered the mushroom truffle pizza, the crust was lopsided, and the pizza was undercooked. The second time I went, my wife ordered a Caprice and it had one small wilted piece of basil on it, crust was undercooked, raw almost. I ordered the truffle pizza again, there was too much mushroom sauce on it, making it soggy, crust was very undercooked, almost raw as well. After reading a strong review in the sun-sentinel we decided to go last night to the Town Center Mall in Boca. Well first and foremost you just can't drive up and walk in for sure. We tried to navigate to the closest area possible to negate a long walk just to try the pizza. Well, it definitely is not worth the long walk and inconvenience. As far as the pizza goes, we ordered a large Americana we had to look for a cleaned-up table as you're in the mall food court and wait for them to yell out your name. When our name was called, we were served the pizza in a large try with 2 paper plates under and stuck to the pizza accompanied with 2 plastic forks no knives and find your own napkins. Now for the important part here the pizza is horrendous under cooked impossible to pick up with so much flop and is basically tasteless. I'm from Brooklyn NY and this is not pizza its crapola and whoever review at the sun-sentinel who gave this place such positive reviews must of got a really good payoff. read more

Pummarola has many locations globally and here in South Florida (Miami in a free standing building off Miami Ave and Boca Town Center Mall). This is not New York or New Haven style pizza. This is traditional Neapolitan pizza. If you've been to Italy you know. It is the closest you will get to having pizza from Italy in Boca Raton. With their double zero flour that makes their dough light and chewy to their sauce and cheese - they are using top ingredients. My margarita pizza was perfection! I never expect a large shopping mall to have a serious place for pizza... but this place breaks the mold. The pizza is an authentic Napoletan style, and won a competition in Las Vegas last year... no wonder, it's excellent. What makes it great is the quality of the ingredients they use and the recipe perfected by Rosa Donna Rummo in Naples many years ago. She had a wildly successful shop in Naples and after her death her 4 grandchildren brought her legacy to the USA. I love how they have a red Fiat 500 at every location, it seems like they have 6. It is a tribute to their grandmother as she always parked her red Fiat 500 outside her restaurant in Naples. Now that I know that I love the place even more! This place has officially turned things around as far as the pizza goes. Came here a couple years ago and the pizza was not good, so I was with the 1 star-ers (which you'll notice are from that same time period, or had bad service, or apparently had a botched order, which I'm sure could've been fixed). But my wife was pushing me to go here and dang the pizza is in my top 2 in boca for Neapolitan style. It may beat out how ya dough'n and le sorelle for me even. We had the 14 inch prosciutto and arugula pizza, and there was plenty of prosciutto and Parmesan. Love how they make the pizza right in front of you and man was every ingredient on that pizza tasty. Apparently the dough ingredients are from Italy? At least it sure tastes like it. We were just in Italy and it tasted like we were still there. We also had the meatball (I wouldn't order again - Sicilian oven is still my number 1 for meatballs) and the eggplant Parmesan I would pass on for the size portion (very small) and flavor (my favorite is le sorelle). Service was solid. But keep in mind - this is in mall, and the pizza is superb. Saw a lot of to-go orders while we were waiting. Can't wait to get this pizza again. read more

I reviewed Pummarola a couple of years ago and absolutely raved about it. From time time we've had it and have always been happy with the thin crust Neapolitan style pizza. We took home a couple of pies yesterday and unfortunately it was pretty bad. The dough was thick and undercooked. We also tried the eggplant, which was soggy. I don't know if this was just an off day, or the owners are not paying attention. But with so many good fairly new pizza places in Boca (Patsy's, How ya doughin), it will be awhile before we take home from Pummarola. I recently ordered food from this restaurant well in town for a few days. The pizza was delicious, and the restaurant itself seems casual and clean. Exactly the place where I would bring my children. However, the service was poor at best. I found that they didn't honor their published discounts, and employee, taking the order for the pizza seem to have a chip on her shoulder. The next time I'm in town, I may order pizza to go, but will not eat at the restaurant again. My recommendation is that the staff get additional training. read more

The food court at Town Center has had a tumultuous past. It's like nothing stays for long, and what does stay isn't fantastic. Then Pummarola opened up and it was like a gift to us all. Freshly made pizzas, a variety of pastas, paninis, salad, arancini, and more are a welcome sight in a food court plagued by the usual offerings of bourbon chicken, mediocre fried rice, bland sandwiches, and generally "blah" choices. I feel confident in giving five stars as I've tried pizza, pasta, and paninis from here, and I've enjoyed them all. Tonight I wanted to try something new, so I got the spicy salami pizza. It was loaded with salami, and yes, it was spicy. I still loaded it up with pepper flakes though! I am a sauce person for sure and appreciate this tasty and tangy sauce. The cheese is very milky and delicious. They make the pizza right there in front of you and it is a delight to watch the pizza maker at work. I love that their pizza oven is straight out of Naples, Italy. Fresh hand made pies cooked in a flame oven. I also tried the fresh pasta samples of Gnocchi and it was fantastic and I wish they offered a smaller side dish rather than a huge bowl ($8.50). I must say the pizza here is very good. There is no great pricing on anything here but we don't mind paying it. The aloof attitude of the counter click with braids is a really big turn off. And then she had the nerve to expect a tip. It left a really bad taste in our mouth about this restaurant.
