Really disappointed in how things have trended downhill with Pump it Up. We've attended many birthdays here, my older kids had their party here 3 years ago, and now my youngest had his party here and it just was so lackluster. I asked *multiple* times if I could be the one to handle the cupcakes and set them up because I did not want anyone else to mess with them and handle them without care. The staff kept saying that they had to be the ones to handle it. I reiterated several times I wanted them to be careful with them. I had spent all night making them! We get into the party room when it was finally available and of course they had turned over the cupcakes. No apology was given and they even tried to tell me that the cupcakes were like that when they got to them. Um, absolutely not. In the photo I'm attaching there's, three layers of cupcakes, all three layers had cupcakes tipped over. It also seems supremely silly to me that they won't allow any changes to food selection the day of the party but also won't allow you to bring in any food yourself. We also asked for more napkins and one worker gave us a napkin bin and then a minute later another worker came and admonished us saying we shouldn't have that napkin bin. Uh, one of the workers literally handed it to us? What is with the attitude here? The workers act like how you'd expect DMV workers to act. There also was no music that we could really hear in the play rooms and the atmosphere just felt really drab. Especially with things like the air hockey machine being broken. There's really not much help or organization at all. And it's also weird to be pressured to tip like $150 suggested (and going up!) when the staff does barely anything to help. We tipped out of pressure but it left such a sour taste in my mouth. I would not come back here ever to host a party and wouldn't recommend it to anyone either. read more

We celebrated my daughters 7th birthday yesterday 2/1/26 and we were so amazed at how our experience was. The staff was very friendly when speaking with them over the phone and made things very effortless. We usually celebrate at the Concord location, but due to them being fully booked, we did the Oakland location and we were so happy. The staff was available if needed and would check in while still giving us the private party feel. The 2 arenas were GREAT! The kids loved it and it was a nice surprise for them. Cool clean and well run place. Featuring two jump areas. On our day the herd of littles were allowed to enter the first jump area and have a nice long session. The group was then called out and able to jump again in the second area that like the first area had seating for the adults. Once done there we entered the party room for pizza followed by cupcakes. We hadn't been here since pre-pandemic and decided to give it a try for our 6 year old daughter's birthday party last weekend. She loves bouncy houses and this worked great! Everyone had a great time! I love how they are able to provide private, clean play spaces for kids by sequencing the parties through 3 separate rooms, for 40 minutes each. My kids have caught a few too many colds at other indoor play places, so this format gave me some peace of mind. The first room had 1 giant slide, 1 traditional bounce house, and 1 large obstacle course. The second room had 2 large bounce houses with gladiator games plus a smaller obstacle course. Both rooms had air hockey and other smaller games. The party room was great as well. The Pump It Up Team does all of the setup, which is necessary since other parties will be in the room when you arrive. This was a little scary for me, as I like to have control over the decorations that I made and put together, however I was very happy with the results. They knew what they were doing! I didn't give any direction and they knew how to setup the gift basket, the cupcakes and tray, table cloths and balloons. They even added underwater scenes on the TV to match my daughter's party theme. In general, I would recommend this place for kids birthday parties. Booking was easy and the staff responded promptly to email. The facility isn't fancy, but it's a fun and clean, and was a great way to get the kids jumping and running for the afternoon. read more

I booked my sons 4th birthday here and the kids really enjoyed the jump houses. I also got the bubble package added and didn't actually get any bubbles. (Maybe they forgot)... On the website it advertises workers being there to watch kids and help run the party so parents can sit back and relax. We actually had both arenas to ourselves unsupervised which I didn't mind but it just wasn't advertised that way. It didn't bother me until it was time to eat pizza and sing happy birthday. I booked a 25kid ultimate package and had 1 girl passing out pizza. She walked out to go do something without informing me anything and a lot of kids were skipped on pizza so I had to get up myself and pass pizza out.. after a while I got my sons cake ready to sing then prepared the cupcakes to pass out. She then appeared to help cut the cake while I passed everything out myself to 25kids + adults...I assumed since I had the Ultimate package and 25kids that I'd get better help and service because that's how it's advertised all over the website. The next time I see the girl helping us she comes back with a receipt for me to sign and tip and I left no tip. The option of 15% was almost $200 and I didn't feel that helping me cut cake was worth that much. I feel like if someone's going to spend over a thousand dollars there should be more than 1 person helping in the party room, or better yet change your advertising on the website. The only reason why I didn't complain to any staff is because the kids had fun and my son enjoyed his birthday.. just wanted to leave a honest review so you know exactly what you're getting when spending that much money. read more

My expectations were low based on all the reviews of this place but I had a good experience! I booked over the website (that did take a couple of tries) and was called back with follow up with a representative. Day of the experience went like this: The doors were locked up until exactly the time of our appointment. I wasn't expecting that and was totally freaking out when guests were texting me saying the location was closed for the day or asking me if they were in the right place. Turned out fine as they did eventually open. The team working that day is as friendly but likely due to kids being germ factories and covid they don't engage with you much. The jump arenas were PERFECT, the kids had sooooo much fun and there was plenty for my party of 10 to do. HOWEVER it's stated they will "set up" for you which is the main reason I decided to host my party here (set up and clean up included) more then half of my decorations weren't used (what a waste.... I was told they were "running behind" which is understandable but my Party shouldn't be effected because of it) & I purchased two separate balloon bouquets (one for each side of the cake table) the employees somehow tied them together to the point where I couldn't take them apart after wasting 10 minutes of trying to.. this was 2 bouquets valued at $50+.... if I wanted 1 bouquet I would've saved money and got it for $25. Because of this my photos weren't as expected and I wasted unnecessary money. I advise not ordering any extra pizzas as they are really dry and not served warm. Please note they are from round table. My only positive experience was the jump arena's I feel like everything else was rushed and forgot to mention at the end of our party while opening presents an employee came into our party room and started flickering the lights to let us know our time was up (mind you, we got into the party room 10 minutes later than the expected time) rather than speaking to me directly the host and we would've started heading out , I felt that was super unprofessional. My whole package was about $600 which I don't mind paying, I just don't feel the service here matched. Wish they had the option to just rent out the jump arenas. Staff gave my daughters gifts to another family and didn't respond to multiple emails and calls for four days. They then have limited hours for me to get the presents and aren't the least bit accommodating or trying to make it right. If you plan to have a party there, plan to drive over during very limited open hours to discuss things in person, and watch everything like your presents like a hawk. A fun place for kids' parties! We attended a 5-year-old's birthday party here last weekend, and my kids had a blast. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the event was well organized. Their bounce structures included a large enclosure for jumping around, a short obstacle course, a very small toddler-sized slide, a moderately steep slide, and an extremely steep slide. They also had some large foam building blocks perfect for building a fort. Tables and chairs made it comfortable for adult guests to relax while the staff supervised the bounce structures. The party packages include an option to add pizza (which tasted ok but was nothing fancy) and juice boxes, and they don't allow outside food to be served except for birthday cake. It would certainly be less expensive to hold a party at your own home, rent a bounce house, and order some cheap pizza. However, I think it's worth checking this place out if you're looking for an easy full-service event where the staff supervises the children (only to an extent, of course!), serves food to the party guests, and cleans up afterwards. This place is so poorly managed that it creates a huge risks for the (young) kids - hence that long waiver you are required to sign before even walking into the space. With the bad air quality, every parent scrambled to get their kids entertained. My friend and I brought our 3-yr olds to the open play, with a reservation. Our thinking was that this place requires advanced reservation and hopefully they would be sensible about the capacity limit and how to manage the crowd. We were SO wrong. They open both sides (usually they open one side for an hour, then switch to the other side for the second hour). And ALL kids of ALL ages were free to roam around - walking toddlers to running young teens. Can you see the chaos? The big kids totally dominated the space. My son was so intimidated that he would not go into any of the structures, nor would I want him to. My friend's daughter was getting trampled going up the steps for slide, and there was a staff who was supposedly monitoring, she paid no attention to it and did not intervene. My friend ended up having to run up to save her little girl. Please note I am not being dramatic - it all happened. I went to the front desk to complain to the supposedly supervisor, and suggested they could easily separate the two rooms by age groups, so the smaller kids can have a protected safe space to play. She gave me a very corporate-scripted response "we are open to the public, kids of all ages..." Well, excuse me, my suggestion and her response are not mutually exclusive. You can be open to the public and welcome all age groups WHILE being organized and considerate of different group's needs. But that takes a little caring, and it seems like they dont. I tried to ask for someone higher up to relay my concerns, but apparently the hierarchy goes from that front desk supervisor straight to the owner. I did get the owner's contact (please contact me privately if you want to make a similar suggestion). I will definitely follow up and express my concerns with the owner of this place. I will not go back until they address this situation, if ever, and i will make sure every parent in my community is aware. read more

I definitely had similar bad experience like some parents on here. I went in for open play with my 5 and 2.5 yr old. Big kids dominated the place and it's impossible for the poor monitor girl to watch over 20 kids in two big rooms. Honestly, I think the big crazy (not all big kids are crazy)kids parents are the main problem. They just go in carefree with their laptop and coffee. And let their kids do whatever they want(since they are older and stronger). And even if any little ones got hurt by their kids, they don't even look up! They just let the monitor "takes care" of it. One of my son's younger friends was invited to a party here yesterday and I was happy to start get him started while his Mom was attending to another important family matter. Pump it up is located just off the 23rd Avenue exit off the East Shore Freeway and is right past the Household Hazardous Waste drop off facility. More promising is the Just Dance Ballroom next door, and perhaps an unintended reference to an Elvis Costello tune of the same name. My son is now 14 and I am SO glad I'm past the point of Chuck E Cheese and Pump It Up within the birthday party circuit. The space consists of a sparse reception lobby, 2 party rooms, and a couple of larger areas that contain 3 large inflated play structures. There are plenty of aides around to safely monitor ankle biter activity, although I didn't find them particularly friendly or engaging. I also thought that the sponsor advertising (Clorox) was a bit much. Like Chuck E Cheese, it's all loud, overwhelming, and with marginal pizza. But for kids of that age, it's all good fun, or at least until the first fight or meltdown. With two kids we have been here several times at friend's bday celebrations. Today however is my lil ones' 4th birthday party with her lil friends. Knowing the weather can be iffy in the early winter/spring, it was a safe bet to host it here. The fee is per child not counting infants. The party packages vary depending on whether you need gift bags photos balloons included. The midrange package for 25 kids was $430 with soda and pizza for a Monday. Weekend is higher in prices. Kids juices were supposed to be included but apparent they had none . Thankfully we brought our own case of mini Arrowhead water bottles. Goodie bags were extra which we made our own. Management designated two assistants to help the host supervise kiddos, take pictures and set up room, cut and distribute cake slices pour drinks pass out pizzas and also clean up. "London" and "Xio" or super courteous and nice! I really appreciated their help and gave a tip to both. So the upside is the kids got to go nuts have fun in a semi contained space. Lots of fun bounce houses slides tunnels etc for them to enjoy = lots of smiles! No need to clean up is a plus for this momma. Everyone having a blast is a major plus in this cold and rainy January. Overall I give it a 4 as $17+ per child is a little more than what parents want to pay for. Cake was not included. I feel because they forgot about kids juices we should have gotten a credit back of some sort. read more

What the fu- are we talking about the same place? I went ape-shit over Pump It Up, this place is so much fun. If you come here for their TGIF night it's only $8.50 for the kid to get in and yes you do have to sit through a safety video starring a male and female cheerleader that are more than likely hooked on meth. Once you get inside this place is cool! There are obstacle courses, climbing challenges, slides, and gigantic inflatable basketballs all over the place. I don't know if adults are allowed to play on these things but I sure as hell MADE IT RAIN with the inflatable titanic-sized basketball...maybe all the bad reviews are partially my fault, nothing turns people off to a game more than a woman hogging their kid's basketball hoop. Of course I didn't come alone, Trip chose the venue and thoroughly enjoyed himself. His favorite part was the slide because he could try to run back up it, but the party pooper attendants always blew the whistle (which the crazy cheerleaders had informed me earlier meant, "Stop, Collaborate, and Listen!" Kids LOVE this place. Or at least they say they do. All the way to the party & after it on the car ride home... I've braved at least half a dozen or so parties here over the last couple years and they've been consistent fun for the kids and fine for the grown-ups/drivers. This place definitely has their routine down pat: informational/safety/rules video, room #1 with inflatable slides, room #2 with bigger inflatable stuff, pizza & cake room. I'd say this place is squarely a few knotches up from Chuck E. Cheese (excedrin please - and watch out for loose diapers in the ball pit). The only thing about the pizza/cake room is that the celebrated child is placed in a giant blow-up throne at front of the room, pretty isolated from all the food and fun, so I'd recommend making the extra effort at making sure he or she is occupied. Kind of a weird view from that party room as well - directly faces some kind of industrial plant. Be warned, though it's by the water - it does not feel like it. TIP: Remember socks for the kids & to dress them in long sleeves/pants/tights. A couple kids have gotten rug burns from hurling down the slides at warp speed. Ouch-y. read more

Although they take pictures for me, I still videod and took some snap shots of my own. The building is clean and colorful inside. I was happy with the size of the jumpers. I think there should be assigned areas per age. I get it's a fun place for kids, but some were just out of control. One staff person covering both rooms, was not enough. This place is only good for very small children, under 5. They won't open the area for bigger kids unless they are overcrowded in the small kids are even if your kid is too old for it. I recommend super franks over this. There are only four attractions, 2 are slides and 2 are small bouncy houses. Buy only half of it is open during open playtime. Just don't expect to park in the front. The spaces up there are limited. We parked in the back. Facilities are clean and all the arcade machines were working that day. Kids really seem to enjoy jumping around in those houses. The staff is friendly and they ran the program like a military operation. No stragglers and we were on time. Food was ok. They won't let you bring outside food so we ate whatever PIU offered. Chicken pizza was dry. I liked the penne pasta. Ice cream cake was from Safeway. Friendly staff, clean facilities. They don't have a back up generator, the staff is not well trained to get the kids out immediately and those inflatables get deflated right away. This place is great for open play. I've been a few times, and it's such a good place to get energy out when it is raining or cold (or hot!) outside. There are two big rooms, each with 2+ bouncy things. One room has a big slide and a jumper with basketball hoops and jousting. That room also has a couple of pay-things, like a thing where you put quarters in and play "basketball" by throwing balls. The second room I like better. It has a big slide that is really challenging to climb up, and an obstacle-style bouncer with a slide. This room also has a baby one to climb up and slide down, and an area with those large blue foam blocks that have become popular at lots of kids museums and such. There is also a pay thing where you put money in and stand in a wind tunnel for a few seconds; I think it is a big waste of money, but my kid adores it. There are people working there who monitor each room to make sure kids are following the rules, but how good they are varies. One woman is a grown-up who is good and ensures safety, but sometimes it is students who don't really do much, though they are well-intentioned. There are also a few little cafe tables in each room. Sometimes only one room is open at a time (e.g., one room is open, then they shift you to the other room after 1 hour). Overall it is a good place, but 2 cautions: one, they sell ice cream in the lobby. I can hardly get my kid out of here because of it, and of course they do that on purpose. The other caution is all the stuff you have to put quarters or dollars in, when you've already paid admission. I find that kind of annoying. The good news is they don't charge for grown-ups. Oh, one more caution -- wear long sleeves, long pants, and socks to prevent rug-burn style wounds. One time my kid wore short sleeves, and we needed to stop and apply band-aids. The moment she turned around the employee's hand (BOTH hands ) were in her purse...my wife immediately called out "what was she doing in her purse" and the employee immediately said she didn't take anything from her purse. Oh man, this place was fun. Speaking from an adult who is eternally trying to preserve her inner kid....this was a great experience. I attended a kids birthday party. To start you watch a safety video and birthday kid is crowned (inflatable crown and all), then let loose into 2 separate rooms full of inflatable slides, jumpers and silly games. I personally loved the blacklight room. I think the kids did too. Nothing like getting to jump around in a dark-ish room with silly glow in the dark glow-stick gear. I will say wear long sleeves cause there can be some rubbing when using the slide and man it hurts. But so very fun to climb up to the top and slide down as kids cheer you on. Pizza and soda was kinda lame, wish we could have brought better/healthier food options. Great staff; mostly helpful and upbeat young adults. read more

We went for a birthday party for a 3 year old with my 15 month old. I was skeptical at first on what she will be able to do there. But she had an absolute blast. It started with going to the first room where there was a bouncy castle, musical piano, basketball and a big bouncy slide for older kids. Then in some time we were taken to the second room where there was a small slide for you get kids, a obstacle race with slide for slightly older kids and a really tall slide for even more older kids. We then were taken to the final room for the cake cutting and pizza. The food was insufficient for the number of people, maybe they only feed the kids?? One thing to note is that for anybody to go into the bouncy house you need to have socks on. So don't forget your socks. Nowhere they really checked for the height that was listed on the website. Had a seven year old boy's birthday party at Pump It Up. For this age group, Pump It Up is perfect, because the kids will get hurt, but are too embarrassed to show it, and just keep on going. What I really did not like, though, were the ridiculous number of requirements that were imposed on the party. For instance, we could not have any of our own food OR drink, we had to order from *their* menu. We could not have ANY decorations. We could not hand out favor bags that had any sort of candy in them, because they didn't want their party room floors to get sticky. There were other rules with which we had to comply, and this served well to dampen creativity in planning the event. The children had fun in the playrooms, but it was somewhat of a bummer to be rushed out of the facility when the 40 minutes of lame pizza and (our) good cake were finished. But if you're into having a party without much thought put to it, this place would be fine. read more
