I came here a while back to attend a birthday party for my friend's 5 yr old son. Its definitely the kind of place to bring the kids, let them run around and wear themselves out. Like someone mentioned there was limited supervision, so I actually found myself watching and making sure the kids didn't get too rowdy. The pizza provided was just so so. I went here as an invitee, so I can't speak to the price. However, I can say my daughter had an awesome time. She had just turned 3, and she's been talking about it ever since. LOVE love love this place! I take the kids I nanny for there and they are very exhausted from all the fun they have. I love that there are 2 different rooms during the open play to keep them excited. Your kid will LOVE this place. At the end of the day that's all that matters. Let them run around until they fall over with exhaustion. Having a birthday party here is pricey and the food options are very limited (pizza). The staff is great and everything is clean (or as cleans can be). Okay I am writing this review for my babies...THEY LOVE THIS PLACE..anytime a friend is having a party here, it is a done deal with the RSVP. If you ask me, that is all it is about. A child bouncing around from one room to the next then getting pizza and cake and going home all in about 120 minutes. I threw a pary here for my son's 6th Birthday and we had a blast..I didn't have to clean up and I spent the same amount of money as I would have on a house party..If you go here remember to bring the bandaids cause the slides can cause burns. read more

This is my second time at this pump it up. I have my daughters 2nd birthday there and now her 4th. They got rid of a few bouncers which took away from the fun. It still was a good time but the obstacle bouncer they got rid of was a main attraction for me. The young lady who helped us in the birthday room was great. The preschool set loves Pump it Up. If you need a break from doing your own party, it's nice to set them loose on the three inflatables in the first, then second, room while you either join in the fun or chat with the other parents. The music can be as soft as you like. Just ask the staff. The kids working here have been very helpful at our parties. Plus you can invite siblings as well, making it easier for your guests to make it. The pizza is fine and we bring our own cake and fruit/veggies. Give it a try. The only reason I don't give five stars is a slight smell of Pine-Sol at times in the party room. But I like knowing that things get cleaned. read more

I did not give 5 stars for the poor administrative skills. Once you work your way past that, the actual party was awesome. The parents and kids bounced all over the place. We had our own music, and the staff was partying with us...beautiful stuff! My advice, pay all at once and have them charge your card within 48 hours, and you are straight. read more

Some of these reviews could have been written by competitors :-) It is safe (except for a few stitch burns), clean, and rather cheerful - for the kids. It's not meant for adults. The party restrictions are quite secondary unless you seek happiness by controlling every minutiae of a child's birthday. read more

My son had a party here years ago, and they just make things real easy when you have many kids to entertain. We went to a fabulous birthday party here today; however.. I am dinging them because one of the employees standing near the shoe cubbies opened a person's purse. She was standing very close to the cubbies with her arms out in a position to not show what her hands were doing. The purse, and wallet were both open after she stepped away, and upon inspection, cash had been removed. They checked their security cameras and didn't get good video, so she is probably going to get away with it. Keep your bags near! read more

WARNING !!! Please don't have your child's party here This by far is the worst facility to host a party. This place is a rip off I paid over 350$$ for the worst party imaginable. The children don't get much time to play you must order everything from them which gets delivered the facility because you are not allowed to bring food in which was fine until they asked my party to go into the party room to stare down at empty plates out food shows up over an hour and half late. The children were hungry and restless. The food was terrible pizza was dry and fell off the crust. The two employees helping to assist did there best they brought chips and salsa and a meat tray one of the employes actually had to go pick up the food while supervisor argued over who had screwed up the order she then refuse to give the mgr contact info . As this night mare unfolded my family got hungry hungry abdomen more angry after waiting Almost 2 hrs to eat they could wait for the pizza and the cake today I received several phone calls from parents complaining that there children were sick ., my my son is also sick and I now have miss work to care for him ...a few of my family members are diabetics and got sick for waiting to long to eat my sons party was a disaster it was ruin . over pricee, nasty pizza that's order from the outside. this place is a complete rip off. my husband and i should have went with chuckie cheese. at least their party package includes the food, and if you want to add more food there is an additional cost. and their (chuckie cheese) pizza is also very good. pump it up is a complete "rip off". their company make it very obvious that they are about the money. its unfair that you can bring in your own birthday cake, but, you can't bring in your own ice creme. if you want ice creme, you have to purchase theirs at $1.00 per cup. Think about it, if you have 15 kids or more, a $1.00 per cup for ice creme? You do the math. you can't bring in your own soda. you have to purchase theirs for 2.99 per liter. yes, they may set up the tables and food, but when my son birthday party that was there on, 10-9-10, the host forgot to place our goodie bags on the tables and at the end of the party when our party was over, and the families was leaving, we had to rush out and give the kids the goodie bags. some parents have already left and their kids missed out on the goodie bags. pump it up may be at it's height for now, but once parents and the outside get hip to this rip off place, because of their "GREED", i don't see pump it up lasting long into the future. read more

Okay, please excuse me, but I am going to come off sounding really snobbish and mean, but....After being invited to 3 different birthday parties at Pump it Up I am so grossed out that when these invites now come in I wrack my brain to come up with excuses not to go. The atmosphere is pretty much Chuck-e-cheese without the giant rat. Although I'm sure there are plenty of smaller rats around. Aside from the hygiene factor of this type of place my main complaint is that it is a factory that churns out parties for the 5-8yr old set for parents who'd rather not have to plan, think, cook, or otherwise come up with any entertainment for their kid's party. It's a dreary environment and I think really takes away the charm of what a kid's bday party should be. read more

I had my son's 4th birthday party here because his birthday is on the 4th of July and since I am pregnant this year I really didn't have the energy to throw a gigantic party at my house on a Wednesday and have to go back to work the next day.. these guys were exactly what I needed! they charge per kid, so if you want to invite adults they are free which is great.. we invited 15 kids (including the birthday boy). it's a lot better deal if you do the 26 kids but i have been to a previous party there with that many children and it was a little bit out of control/scary. 15 was perfect!! i gave the staff the cake, balloons, etc and they set up the party room while the kids bounced. i didn't have to do a thing!! the kids all had a blast playing for 40 minutes in the first bounce room and then they moved them all to a second bounce room for another 40 minutes. they were great about getting all the kids together for a group photo op before we all went into the party room. the only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars is you HAVE to order the food, drinks, etc from them (the only thing you can bring is cake, balloons and goodie bags) and it was a little steep, but they also provided the cups, utensils, napkins and plates which would have been expensive on their own. the party staff set up the room with a slice of pizza for each kid before they even got in there and poured all of their drinks for them. it was great! then we sang happy birthday and they cut the cake and handed it out! they even bagged up all the presents for us! then the icing on the cake was when the party was over i didn't have to clean up a thing which was amazing when i remember how long it took to clean up my house after past years.. i would definitely use this place again, they were great!! read more

This was one of the worst party experiences we have ever had. We found the staff incompetent with poor problem solving abilities and with no understanding of the term "customer service." In particular: 1) At the beginning of the party, I specifically asked if I would be able to place the toys on my son's cake. Like any other parent, I wanted to make sure the cake was as perfect as possible for the birthday boy. I was reassured that there would be time for me to place the toys as I wished. Imagine my frustration and confusion when I found that our host had already placed the toys on the cake in the INCORRECT spots and thereby ruining the overall effect of the cake. 2) We ordered four pizzas for our party at noon. Two XL cheese and two XL veggie pies. We were told TEN MINUTES BEFORE we were supposed to eat that the Pump it Up Party staff "couldn't find the two cheese pizzas". What happened? Were the pizzas lost? Did they forget to order them? There were no straight answers to our questions. More importantly, when we asked if we could have two other pizzas we were told that it was too late to order anything further and the pizza delivery place was backed up and that they would give us chips and salsa instead. My family was absolutely astonished at the lack of customer service! I have NEVER paid for a party and told that the food was lost and could NOT BE REPLACED! Chips and salsa is hardly a reasonable replacement for a pizza! During this entire discussion with the manager, our hungry guests were lined up and waiting to eat. Waiting, waiting, waiting..... We asked if they could play for ten more minutes while the task of figuring out a way to feed our guests fell upon our shoulders. (And what a frustrating task as Pump it Up requires the customer to only order from their overpriced menu and does not allow outside food. I assure you had I been allowed to bring food for my party, I would not have had this problem!) When our disgruntled guests finally got into the party room, we still had no cheese pizzas. A party guest kindly offered to buy pizza from another facility and bring it back. The veggie pizza (now cold) was given to the kids (most of who picked the veggies off as most of the four year olds PREFER CHEESE). When my guest finally returned with Little Caesars Pizza (as this was the closest and quickest solution), the adults scarfed what they could in the time remaining. The fresh whip cream cake (which had been sitting in the sun during this entire ordeal) had melted by the time my son finally got to cut and eat it. The manager was conveniently absent when we had to make apologies to our guests for the delay, for the lack of food and a melted cake. But wait! Here is the best part: The manager was unavailable to get a hold of the site owner, even after multiple attempts. And despite providing all of our contact information, we are STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE MANAGER/OWNER ALMOST TWO WEEKS LATER! While we did receive a small discount on our total cost of the party, we feel that any amount of money we paid was too much for the headache and stress of what is supposed to be a worry-free and low maintenance party. Suffice it to say, I don't think I will be holding another party at Pump it Up. read more

One of the areas sound system sounded horrible! I was running a little late so the deducted time from the party. OMG...Pump It Up is so much fun...you don't have to be a 6 year old to love this place...I'm 31 years old and the 2hrs I spent there was a blast...we came to celebrate a 6 year old's b-day...this kid got to invite all his friends to play in these ginormous inflatable playgrounds...wear a crown on his head...laugh, run, jump, slide, talk all he wanted for a long period of time...receive a billion presents...sit on a humongous throne...have everyone sing to him...then eat pizza and cake...now how awesome is that?????...that birthday boy shined the whole entire time...he was SUPER happy...a tad expensive but what the heck...oh...we had the rooms to ourselves because it was a private party...adults do get to participate in the fun activities...my only concern is that with so many children running around...someone might get hurt...and at this party I saw two kids do just that...parents can always be next to their child and make sure they stay safe...help them climb, slide,etc...which I also observed at this particular party...the children loved the pizza and cake and balloons...hey...I loved the pizza...the cake...and balloon...even took a balloon home...but I made sure the kids that wanted one got one first...hahahah...this is a fantastic place for a b-day party...you just have to be careful not to get hurt... read more

I've always been the mom who swore by do-it-yourself parties at home or at a park. After six of these though, I'm exhausted! Couldn't face the preparations, the staking out of a picnic table, the schlepping, the BBQing and then the cleanup and lugging everything to the car afterward. So done. So for the big 7 we chose Pump it Up. So easy, and the kids LOVE it. The parents can drop off and have a free afternoon or simply stay, chat and watch kids go insane with all the fun. The staff could not be nicer or more accommodating. High marks for an easy birthday that kids love - and that's what it's all about, right? read more

Very disappointed with the party we had for my daughters bday here today. We have had 4 other birthday parties here in the past and they have always been great - expensive but great. Today we get into the first bounce house room and they have removed one of the large features - it was an obstacle course last time - and in its place were 5-6 coin operated games. So on top of the $450+ bday party bundle you want me to fund coin operated games??? I understand that for regular bounce hours that this is another revenue source for them but this should be figured into the space rental for parties. You decreased the amount of attractions included in the rental price but sure as heck didn't decrease the cost. Same thing in the other room - they took out the huge slide and had a repeat smaller slide from the other room. On the up side, the people working there were VERY nice. read more

I booked my 2 sons party a month ahead at the pleasanton location. I had to cancel it as some travel plans came up. I requested for refund and the manager was very very kind enough to listen to me and immediately approve the refund. I promise to have a party here if my plans change. Hosted my child's birthday party here recently. Invited large group of children from the school and the neighborhood and found that this is the easiest way to host a large gathering without having to worry about cooking or cleaning for days before and after. the pizza they provided was a little bland for me, but the kids didnt complain. overall kids were happy with the activities and didnt have to worry about keeping everyone entertained. read more

They started by giving our 5 yr old an obviously broken and then fixed with scotch tape inflated crown. The bounce rooms were great and the kids / adults had fun. The party helpers provided basic help - nothing extra or special. The floors of the food room were sticky / dirty and several parents noticed and commented on this. The party helpers played a slide show of someone else's birthday party in the food room - when we pointed this out they did quickly change it to our child's party. They gave my child a custom thank you / birthday card when we were leaving - nice touch - but it was for the wrong party: a set of twins turning a different age! At the check out person strongly suggested several times that I leave a tip for the party helpers - too many times and too forcefully. The costco fruit trays are still $34 each and water is expensive also. I would give it 2-2.5stars. We have three children & this was our 4-5 party there and something has changed for the worse. I'm wondering if the ownership has changed? They seemed very pushy about "upgrades" and tips but really didn't provide the services to deserve it. read more

party yesterday for childs birthday. staff was quite wonderful : very careful watching all the kids and very courteous and pleasant too---5 stars there. my concern was with the temperature in the bldg. it was very cold out yesterday in oakland and when they opened up the first room for the kids to play in it was unacceptably freezing in there. i was told that the heater had just been turned on and it would take some time to warm up in there. REALLY???? couldn't someone have gotten there a little early and made sure that the temperature was appropriate for many families with young kids. i was then told that once we entered the next room it would be warmer! REALLY???? that room was even colder than the first room...it was 62 degrees by the thermostat reading even though stat was set at around 83. about 90 min later when leaving the party i checked the temp in that room (terribly unpleasant to be in) and the temp read 63 degrees!!!!!! totally unacceptable. i had staff call the supervisor (or owner) and all i got was excuses for why this was happening. until this place can shape up and put the heat on to appropriate levels when adults and smalll children are going to be there partying i would avoid the place till management gets the message here about what needs to be done. read more

everything in this place is great if you want an easy party. when you get in the place you are greeted by a friendly staff then you watch a quick safty video that explains all the rules. you jump inside thses amazingly fun jumpers and to top it off you eat some delicious pizza.the only part that i didnt like was the outside of the building smelled like piss and shit but all in alli loved my party at pump it up i recommend if you want an easy party go here read more
