I had 5 different small projects from replacing high ceiling bulbs, tightening junction boxes, re-chalking the bathtub, fixing a broken closet door, to taking out a kitchen cabinet. I got a call to review my projects, an email to confirm the appointment, and a call the morning off to confirm approximate time of arrival. On-site, Rick J was efficient and professional and gave advice on other repairs that I could do in the future. it was well worth the effort. This was our first time using Punch List and it won't be our last. These guys are awesome! Our family room plaster walls were in horrible condition. Ten years ago we ripped out a built-in 1950s bookcase/entertainment center original to the house, and no matter how much we scraped and sanded, you could still see where the unit had been -- pockmarks, chunks out of the plaster, adhesive that wouldn't come off, etc. Back then, we didn't want to spend extra money to fix it so we just painted over the flaws and sat our jumbo TV in front of the worst part. Good enough! This time we wanted it done right, so enter Punch List. From start to finish, Punch List was super easy to work with. I liked being able to schedule the job via email and get a day-before-service email reminder. Jim came out to examine the walls and emailed a quote the next day. He was very knowledgeable and explained exactly what needed to be done (skim coat to repair the walls, then prime & paint). Bob handled the repair & paint job, and he did an incredible job. Jim had warned us that the walls wouldn't be "perfect," but I'll be darned if they don't look it after Bob finished. He also installed new baseboards and a ceiling fan. It hardly looks like the same room (and made me wish we'd done it correctly in the first place). Don't hesitate to call Punch List. Their rates are very reasonable and the guys are real pros. Donnell was so nice to work with. He did a high quality job and was very helpful in doing the finishing touches like picture hanging. My wife and I have had a lot of difficulties with various contracting companies as we remodeled our townhome. Since we found punchlist, however, all of the things that we've had to deal with seem to be a thing of the past. We've now worked with punchlist on multiple projects and we only have good things to say. We had a great experience with Chris for some electrical work. We then had another great experience with Jim who helped us through some rain damage repair. And then Fergus and Donell did an awesome job with painting our exterior door and our kitchen over the last couple of days. We recently had them come back out to repaint after some new water damage when we found a pipe leak from our initial home renovations by a separate contractor. My wife and I can tend to be a little picky and we asked for some additional work to be done when we noticed something when the worker was already packing up for the day. We weren't sure how Jim and company would respond and worried that we would be considered overly high maintenance but once again Jim and his team have proven that they take pride in a high level of customer service and did everything we expected them to. My first experience with Punchlist was not as stellar as the other reviews. I needed some tracklights repaired, so made a reservation for 8am, hoping to get it done before I head off to work. 30 minutes later, I called the office to find out the electrician won't be coming after all due to an accident. Fine. Nobody's fault. I rescheduled a month later for the same time. After 40 minutes and 2 calls to the office, I was furious and about to head of to work when the phone rings and the electrician has finally arrived. While the repair service was efficient and the staff courteous, they really need to be on time for their appointments. When I make an appointment, I assume the time I agree upon is the time of ARRIVAL, not the time when they LEAVE from the place of origin. read more

We did not have a great experience with Punch List. We hired them to fix the dryer vent in our condo since the one currently installed was not up to code. They came to look at it, went to home depot to get the proper vent to install, came back installed it. Problem was, it was still the wrong kind of vent and was not up to code! After discussing the issue over the phone, we were able to convince them to come back and replace it. They came back and determined that they couldn't do it! And we were out $300 for the job that never got done! They also cracked the door to our laundry closet on their install. We ended up calling another service who came and did it in half the time for half the cost. I guess based on reviews they're good for some things, but don't hire them to change your dryer vent. read more

We used Punch List to make repairs after our home inspection prior to the sale of our condo and would recommend them. Easy to schedule with a nice option of times for service, the handyman showed up on time and prepared to work and got everything done within an hour (including a few additional issues I thought we were going to need to have a specialist to come out to look at which weren't in the original plan). All in all, it was done quickly, the work performed was done well, and we were able to save significant money in having one person come out instead of multiple contractors. Joe (electrician) and Dave (general contractor) just finished various projects at my house. Installed a new electrical box in wall (removed old ceiling fixture), dry wall patched/mudded, hung a pivot powder room mirror and repaired many other little things. Trust me when I tell you, after rehabbing 3 houses in my life, (working with every kind of tradesman, these guys are everything you want in remodelers/handymen; skilled, efficient, collaborative, upfront about time/cost, polite, punctual and leave things cleaned up. Despite the fact that these weren't large projects, from this work I can tell they would do great work on larger projects as well. I copied this from my gmail account "The best we can do is to add a pull to the cabinet to make it easier to open. As far as moving the cabinet we feel it would not be cost effective. I had a wonderful experience. I filled out a online inquiry and got a response in less than an hour! Had the handyman out later that week. He arrived on time and completed my "Punch List" in less time then I exspected. I could not be more pleased with my experience. They did some drywall repair, hung a new light fixture, fixed my annoying running toilet, and hung some floating shelves. All in under 3 hours. The tech was polite and very clean . Our job did not go well due to some unusual circumstances and bad luck. The specifics aren't important. What is important is that when we contacted the company about the problems, a representative took careful notes, asked for pictures, and passed the matter directly to the owner (Jim). Jim promptly contacted us, took full responsibility for everything, and came to our place - multiple times, with various workers - to make things right. He even did some of the best work himself! As for price, we quickly agreed to a reasonable amount and, honestly, I think Jim would have just donated all the time he and his men put into our place if we had let him. In short, we wanted to have a toilet replaced in our basement with a special valve to prevent "Vermin" from entering our house. I'm not an idiot. Sure, I could've figured out how to put my new queen sized bed together. However, would I have had peace of mind knowing that it was actually put together correctly or would I be worried that it would turn out like some horrible sitcom where the bed would go crashing in the middle of the night crushing some very nice pairs of shoes? I contacted Punch List on the recommendation of a friend. I submitted a request via their website late Friday and already had a call and return email Monday morning before 9am. I spoke with Wade and had an appoint set up for that Wednesday. They sent a confirmation email as a reminder, which I appreciated. My appoint was for 12:30. At 12:10 Phil called me to let me know he was going to be about five minutes late. He wound up being there almost exactly at the scheduled time. It was very nice to get a heads up for such a small time difference. Before coming inside Phil put on those shoe covers you see them use on CSI (Insert City Here). He had the bed put together quickly and even helped me put on that pesky bed skirt. Phil was very professional and super friendly. He even put up with my cat "supervising" him. I already have a couple more small projects in mind to schedule in the future. I highly recommend that and give a big thumbs up to Phil. read more

Punch List was able to accommodate an extremely last-minute renovation request. Everyone I dealt with was polite and helpful, and when it seemed like they weren't going to be able to fit me in to their schedule they even recommended a competitor (who, when I called, in turn recommended Punch List). There were a few issues with scheduling: the work dates slightly changed without my knowing, and the contractor was in the condo on a day I didn't expect. Communication on this could have been a bit better, but they got the job done in my extremely restrictive window, and the work was done really well. The only other issue was a miscommunication over using a HEPA-vacuum for cleanup, which we had discussed, but then seemed to slip between the cracks--but once I reached out to Jim and explained my frustration, he got the equipment he needed to d the HEPA cleanup at no additional cost to me, which I really appreciated. It's hard to find a good handyman. And then when you do, there's always a limitation - they don't do plumbing or they don't have a truck big enough to get that vanity from Home Depot you want - and you have to find another handyman. Thank goodness for Punch List! They're basically a company of handymen, so whatever you need done, they have a guy for the job. I called them about the aforementioned vanity. Not only did they have a big truck, but they passed along their 5% Home Depot discount to me. Vanity and fixtures look great! Thanks, Mark! Then today, the GFI in my kitchen failed. Replacing it didn't fix the problem. While I'm handy, my knowledge of electrical outlets is limited, so I called Punch List again. Nick came out the same day (luckily he works fast, so he's often ahead of schedule), fixed the issue and installed a second GFI. Disaster averted! Things to know - they are great handymen, but they're not finish carpenters. So the vanity looks great, plumbing works, but I handled the finish work: adding quarter-round to hide the gap where the wall wasn't flush with the side of the vanity, adding a bead of silicone where the backsplash and top meet, and touching up the paint around the new work. Wade was very helpful on the phone and with scheduling a proposal the next day which was a big difference to what were normally used to. Service was okay - the plumber completed the job, and so far, the shower seems to be working better. What bothered me most was that he took almost an hour (~50 minutes) to buy the shower cartridge, and I was charged for that time. The total time was 2 hours, so he spent almost 50% of the time shopping. Actually installing a new cartridge took 5 minutes. read more

Found Punch List via their positive reviews on Yelp and I am quite pleased. I submitted an online bid request for them to hide the cords for my wall-mounted TV behind the wall. I wanted an outlet put in behind the TV as well as a pipe installed to string the cords down to my entertainment center. They called me back the next day (something none of the other places I submitted online bids for did...most took 3-4 days to reply) and I had everything booked in a matter of minutes. When they came out the work was done in a shorter time than I expected. The quality is great - I can hardly tell there was drywall work done and repainted. They were friendly and professional - exactly what I would expect from a service provider. My only two "hiccups" in the process were: 1. I scheduled the installation and drywall repair for the same day (why would I want a huge hole left in my wall!?). For some reason they didn't schedule the drywall guy and told me it would be a day or two to get someone out. I reminded them that I specifically scheduled this day so that I could have both pieces of work completed the same day. They had someone out within an hour. It was a good resolution but still a bit frustrating that that piece was forgotten. 2. Cleanup could have been a bit better. There was drywall dust all over a lot of my furniture near the work site. I don't expect them to clean my house, but there was significant drywall dust and a surface cleaning of the major dust sites would have been appreciated. read more

Fast forward when we needed to change the bulb, we had issues taking the fan apart to make the switch. All is took was one a phone call and Punch List sent out Joe to help us out! He did a great job! I didn't actually get work done with Punch List, but did have a positive experience. They came by for an estimate and even arrived early. The estimate was $37 though. Overall I would have been comfortable with them doing the work; seemed knowledgeable, but the quote was much more than I expected. It's a bit pricey. I have used Punch List twice, and have been more than pleased with them both times. The first time I called to have a broken light switch fixed -- I got out my calendar and prepared to have to make an appointment for a date a week or two out. Instead, they had an electrician at my apartment in less than an hour! Crazy! I wish my landlord was this responsive! The second time, we had an intermittent mystery water leak coming through our bathroom ceiling. It was not on the landlord's priority list. Ugh. Thank goodness for tenant friendly "repair and deduct" laws and Punch List! After the leak got worse, I finally called Punch List and Jim came out. Of course, by that time the mystery leak had stopped again and we couldn't track it down. The next time it started he came out right away -- at 6:00 am! He found the source of the leak, 2 floors up, and fixed it right up! (Turns out it was the hot/cold water mixture valve on the 3rd floor shower, and was only leaking in certain positions).
