Very cute and delicious restaurant. Highly recommend Cheese Katsu! Good size portion. Also, the yuzu cream soda was really good as well.

Me and my friends ate here recently on a snowy day and we were greeted very warmly with complimentary corn soup which was very good. We ordered the udon, 2 chicken katsus, 1 cheese donkatsu and the dumplings. The cheese was melted very nicely. Great portion size, food was tasty, and salad dressing for the side salad was good. Only thing I would have liked better is if the side salad was sliced cabbage instead of finely chopped so you can get more of better texture for the salad. Other than that, food was tasty and good.

Everything is very good in portions! My husband and I were both full after the appetizers. The place was very homey and cozy, it was like you walked into someone's home, and I haven't had that feeling for a while. It's a neighborhood restaurant. We ordered the Steamed Pork Dumpling and Shrimp Tempura. Shrimp tempura was our favorite, crispy and delightful. The tartar sauce wasn't heavy, refreshing and nicely done. We also ordered the Cheese Katsu, it's nice and we couldn't finish it as we were both full. We both will come back for their other dishes, such as Fish Katsu and Soba. It also come with complimentary corn soup and coffee :)

Cheese Katsu. You get ALL this in your order! Came with soup, rice, salad, and mashed potatoes.

This was a pretty great place. As it's name suggests, this place serves mostly Katsu dishes (deep fried meats). And they're pretty good at what they do! I ordered the Cheese Katsu which was a deep fried pork cutlet stuffed with cheese. It had more than I expected which is a GREAT thing. Not only was the serving size of the cutlet huge, it came with rice, mashed potatoes, salad, and soup?! Needless to say I was full and satisfied by the end of the meal. All the food was delicious. Really loved the pork cutlet and the gravy that came with it. My only suggestion to the place might be to add a little more variety with the Katsu sauces. The gravy was great don't get me wrong, but more choices would be better. Like maybe curry, Katsu sauce, maybe a sweet and sour sauce. But other than that, I am a fan of this spot.

I thought the food was great! Everything was homemade (including the sauce and salad dressing), which helped make everything feel like a cozy home-cooked meal. Portions were big and the food was tasty! We ordered the pork katsu and the fish katsu. Personally, I enjoyed the fish katsu more, but both were good. If you were deciding between the two I would recommend the fish! The service was also great, and the owners asked us multiple times how we were doing and seemed to genuinely care about our experience. The inside is also super cute since the walls have painted menus with unique touches that show they were handmade. The overall feeling I got from the restaurant is that the owners really care about the food they're making and the small details that could have been done in easier ways.

Went here with a few friends for lunch and this place is so good! The interior of the restaurant is very cute, I felt like I was in a cooking mama game lol. Very homey and warm. They gave us free green tea and there was self serve coffee as well. Also came with a free chowder-type soup. Nice touch! What I ordered: Steamed Beef Dumplings: 5/5 Very delicate skin but so good. The beef meat inside was very flavorful and melts in your mouth, and has a slight smoky flavor. Very good steamed dumplings. Comes with a sauce too. Katsu Chicken 4.5/5 HUGEEE portion of chicken, you can tell from the photo. The chicken was flattened thin but very moist, the crust was crispy and fresh. The curry sauce that came with it tasted homemade, had a sweet apple-y taste to it and was slightly sour. Not a super savory type of curry that I normally expect but still good. The side potato salad is great, the rice portion can be a bit small for some people but I personally didn't mind it. And the salad and fruit on the side was a nice touch to the heavy meal. The presentation of the dish I found very cute as well lol. Overall a nice place. Has a simple menu and a homemade feel which adds to the charm. I'll definitely be coming back if I'm in the mood for katsu!

Fish katsu. Basically a whole fish and 2 shrimpies with greens and potsto salad and fruits. 4 course meal

Was hankering for a good meal and came to katsu guys for lunch but came out with a FEAST. Food is great and clean tasting (none of that old oil bs taste) with such a homey staff. Felt like I was eating at my grandmother place. Philly has been lacking a good katsu place and finally glad we have one!

Cheese Katsu and Korean BBQ Short Ribs

This restaurant is great for their katsu options! My boyfriend and I ordered the Cheese Katsu and Korean BBQ Short Ribs. Both entrees came with crab potato salad, a side salad, and a scoop of purple rice. The katsu was perfectly crisp and filled with the right amount of mozzarella. The Korean bbq short ribs were not as great as the ones I've had from other restaurants, but the plating was great! It was still tasty. Overall, this place is definitely great for katsu options and their fried appetizers! The ambience of this restaurant is homey, cozy and cutely decorated. Service is kind and attentive. Reasonable pricing as well.

Small little place tucked into the plaza. The inside is very rustic and cozy. Love the decor and the placemats and cups fit very well with the surrounding decor. It seems like a family business and the employees are very nice! The food starts off with a cream soup. Very good start to a meal. It's light and creamy, goes down very easily. The cheese katsu was pretty good. The katsu sauce was a bit on the lighter side of flavor. It was ok. The cheese katsu was great but needs a bit more flavor. Some salt is needed. Its super satisfying biting through the crunchy skin into a flavor of cheese. Wonderfully fried. It's wonderful that they have a diverse plate of veggies some fruit and rice. The shrimp tempura was nicely fried as well! The Korean short ribs has decent flavor to them, but them were less like short ribs. The flavor is a bit too sweet. The meat was off the bone. Would have been great if it was traditional short ribs with the flavor and some char to it. Overall a pretty good place that could become amazing with some improvement to flavor. Certainly looking forward to their growth.

Overall, the food was good, and the salmon truffle crispy rice was very good it was definitely the highlight of the meal. We also saw several dishes being served to other tables that looked good and had great presentation although we weren't sure what they were. The service was okay nothing exceptional, but friendly enough. My only complaint was that the ginger served with my sushi was dried out and hard. I also wasn't a fan of the consistency of the "wasabi" that was served. They are BYOB, and you can make reservations, which is always a plus. Overall, we had a good experience and will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

The waitress was rude, was moving food and plates around while we were eating and was condescending to my friend because she wanted to take the shareable plates away. Absolutely no pleasantries by the waitress, no hello, sorry, or anything else. The (what I'm assuming) manager came over and I informed him that the waitress was being rude. Another manager then confronted the waitress in the middle of the restaurant, right in front of us. This just made the situation weirder because now several waitresses were coming up to us asking if we were okay, including our waitress. There was no proper acknowledgment or apology from management. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say the waitress had a bad day and management is not properly trained in how to respond to customer concerns, still will not be returning.

I ordered the Akamaru Modern Ramen, the BBQ short rib plate, and the mango shaved ice everything was absolutely delicious. The ramen was rich, comforting, and full of flavor as always. The mango shaved ice was refreshing and came topped with popping mango pearls and mochi, which made it even better. When we called in to confirm that the Udon noodles do NOT have egg (as we have a child with an egg allergy), the woman taking our order curtly said "I threw out the box, it's white, you have to look for yourself." When we mentioned we do not know the brand to look, she replied "me neither, I threw out the box." Needless to say - the food is great, but honestly, the family owned business officially sucks. There's a way to respond to things and that just isn't it. Especially as someone taking orders. So thank you for ending this streak for us. The crap service made it easy to make this place a 1 star.
