Been meaning to write a review about this place. The service is pretty speedy as I've been here a few times and I always feel like I don't get the chance to be hungry. The ambiance is super delightful. Like even with the Indian(I think??) TV in the background.. it's really comfy feeling. Ok -now down to the food, the reason you're probably reading this lol. it is AMAZING. I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. I SUPER SUPER recommend the Tika MasaIa and Butter chicken. I'm not sure how we missed Punjab Cafe, but we will DEFINITELY be eating here more often. This place is a gift to Crofton! Truly incredible. They don't rely on tear-jerking heat to create flavor. Flavors are complex and they don't cheap out by adding flour to sauces to thicken them. Besides that, most of the menu is gluten free! That's the true Indian way! Use real ingredients and authentic spices to make flavors! Best of all, the owners are delightful and kind. See you ASAP! read more

Family, if you love Indian food and haven't tried the food at Punjab Cafe yet I highly encourage you to GO! My family and I truly love the fresh and flavorful food, excellent customer service and the clean establishment. We get carryout 95% of the time. They cook the food to order so if you're in a hurry, call your order in ahead. Life has been crazy so I hadn't been in a couple of months but when I tell you the food tonight was absolutely AmazinG I'm not exaggerating. We had all vegetarian items tonight and due to the large portions have enough for another meal tomorrow. I'll definitely be back soon. I love this place! read more

Food was amazing! My family and I dined here and the customer service was amazing, the owners were very helpful. Very unassuming place but absolutely worth it. The mild spice level (the one my family tried) has barely any spiciness, so it's good if you have a sensitive palate. This place has AMAZING Indian food! You have to try it! My husband and i don't go to Crofton often so we went on Yelp to look for a good lunch spot. I'm so glad we decided to go here because the butter chicken was so so so good and probably the best I've ever had. It was creamy, seasoned well, and filled with chunks of chicken thighs. The garlic naan came out fresh and was very tasty. I loved dipping the naan in the butter chicken gravy/sauce. It's definitely a hole in the wall spot, but the service and food are superb. My only suggestion is to please open a restaurant in Montgomery country haha I wish it wasn't so far from me, otherwise I'd be getting takeout here all the time!! read more

Last night I ordered the butter chicken along with some samosa chaat. That chats was extremely tangy which it's supposed to be. The butter chicken was not flavorful to me and I was disappointed. But the restaurant itself is lively and sooooooo clean. I feel very comfort eating there judging from the seating area. I appreciate the sparse decor and the Indian music and videos provided. Owners were AMAZING! Very friendly and helpful when I couldn't decide what to get. The wife made some suggestions so I went with them and boy was I pleased. I got a sampler of samosas and other yummies with a variety of sauces. I also got the garlic naan and butter chicken. Everything was so delicious. At the end, I asked about something sweet and she told me about their homemade pistachio Ice cream . It was so good. It is such a quaint place. Small but inviting and they play videos with Indian dancing and singing. It reminded me of the old Elvis type movies I watched with my mom growing up but the Indian version. The food was very fresh and my online order was correct, packaged well, and ready on time. This was my first time ordering from Punjab Cafe but it will not be my last! We ordered a few entrees and naan and everything was exceptional. Quality ingredients and flavors! This place is a hidden gem. It is extremely clean inside and you can tell that the business owners take pride in their restaurant and the food that they serve. The only potential area of improvement would be the portion size. What an amazing find! To have such a welcoming and delicious restaurant, with excellent Indian cuisine, right here in Crofton! Our favorite is the big, overstuffed samosas, followed by one of the many chicken or lamb dishes. You can order them mild, medium, or spicy to your liking. I recommend getting the peshwari naan as a side. Plus a refreshing mango lassi to drink. This is a family owned restaurant and they've really done a great job. Eat in or take out. I was on the hunt for some amazing Indian food as Id just watched a tiktok video in which a woman demolished some butter chicken! I came across Punjab Cafe in Crofton! They had a 5 Star rating on Google! It was well deserved. I initially called ahead to see if they could accommodate my order as I wanted the sauce that comes with the butter chicken but I wanted Chick Peas instead of Chicken. I drove out to Crofton to pick up my butter Chick peas and Naan! All I can say is I cant wait to heat up my leftovers today! I warmed up some frozen veggie samosas I had and literally tag teamed my chick Peas between the Naan and the Samosas! Everything was amazing. I ordered carry out recently. I believe this place used to be called Four Seasons Pizza. I never tried it as that because I don't care for pizza. Now I do like Indian food and wanted to see how this ranks with Royal Kabob and Namaste. Interior-wise it's in the middle. Inside is bright and very clean. They don't serve alcohol but nice and casual to be able dine inside. My order consisted of naan, chicken tikka masala, and vegetable samosas. The chicken was appropriately tender and medium spicy as requested. The naan was warm and soft and the samosas were flavorful. Their portions are bigger than Royal Kabab and Namaste. this was a cute restaurant where you can order at the front and they'll deliver your food to your table. they were pretty nice and the food was so good! got the onion bhaji, veg pakora, samosa and chana masala with bhatura (ordered separately). i'm used to indian restaurants having super oily food but this restaurant showed me it is possible to make them yummy without also consuming a gallon of oil. i loved that the bhatura was soft yet crispy and it paired well with the chana masala with well cooked chick peas and flavor that wasn't super overwhelming. Also got the veg biryani and raita, tbh i'm not partial to biryanis so it was just ok to me. read more

Their mulligatawny soup is like none other that I have ever had anywhere in the world, and I do a lot of international traveling. My husband and I decided to try takeout from Punjab Indian Cafe, looking forward to a cozy night in with flavorful Indian cuisine. Our order included curry chicken, aloo gobi, garlic naan, lentil soup, and aloo naan. The curry chicken was well-prepared, with tender meat submerged in a flavorful sauce that had just the right balance of spices. My husband got the mild and I got Medium curry. The aloo gobi, a dish of potatoes and cauliflower, was adequately seasoned and enjoyable. The garlic naan was another highlight, with a good slather of garlic butter that made it quite appetizing. However, our meal was not without its disappointments. The lentil soup was a major letdown, being extremely salty to the point of being nearly inedible. This was surprising and unfortunate, as we had hoped for a comforting start to our meal. Further, the aloo naan, which we anticipated would be stuffed with spiced potatoes, turned out to be utterly plain and devoid of any flavor or filling. It was a stark contrast to what we were expecting, and in hindsight, we would have been better off settling for the regular naan instead. I never had aloo naan with plain potato. I'm used to curry potatoes, peas and spices. My husband said the lady was very nice when he went to pick up the order. Great customer service is a plus in my book. A quick opinion about this new restaurant opening up in town. The Crofton area has been relatively lacking in good Indian options for quite some time now. To anyone around here looking for a place to go get some, Punjab is definitely the restaurant you'll want to check out. While it doesn't look like much when you walk in(it was pretty simply decorated and not a lot of people when we went), they greet you with good service - the lady we spoke to at the counter was very kind. The menu is debatably a bit pricey but has tons of options. We each got something from a different part of the menu and everyone enjoyed their food, which was spectacular. It's definitely worth coming back for and I plan to. Overall, great to see this location opening up here! Highly recommend. read more

Not sure why the reviewer below didn't read the menu first before they got there or what they are fussing about. This family run business just opened a month ago and perhaps they will offer lamb and goat in the future since everyone (including some Indian people) doesn't eat lamb or goat. Nonetheless, I had a very delectable vegetarian lunch here today and met Raj and his wife. (Owners) The chana masala (chickpea curry) and batura (fried puffy bread) was some of the best I have ever had (at a restaurant). This place is excellent. If you want real home style indian cooking this is it. I loved the food, chai and the hospitality. I will be back very soon and highly recommend it. I had the Mulligatawny soup, which is lovely, spiced perfectly soup of chicken, rice, lentils, and corn. The Aloo Naan, a hearty Naan containing peices of potatoes and parsley, is a fantastic match to the soup. The flavors are rich, authentic, and very enjoyable. I walked in to place my order and had a short wait, about 15 minutes, as the food was prepared and packaged for takeout. The freshly made food was hot and yummy for about $14! Friendly service. My order was taken quickly with a smile. I was so ready for the butter naan. I decided to have a all bite of the hot naan before getting home. Well, it wasn't naan. It was hot, stale pita with something slathered on parts of it. Maybe butter. I like to use my naan to eat my entree by hand. Not even possible here. This wasn't even the Costco "naan" in the bag.
