Punjab Grill's initial appearance, is offputting with a brightly colored building, just behind another business off the main road feels a bit uncomfortable. Upon my entrance, I was greeted by friendly staff which guided me to my table. The interior is basic and unattractive. I started with water and ordered the butter chicken with a lamb kebab and a mango lassi to drink. The butter chicken was served with white rice, which was tasty, but lacked the rich, buttery flavor I was expecting. The lamb kebab was spicy and delicious. The mango lassi was more watery that I'm accustomed to with ice; however made the drink, more viscous and enjoyable. I also enjoyed some garlic naan on the side, which was good. Overall, my experience was very positive. Don't allow appearances to fool you, this place is definitely worth a try. Just keep in mind they do not serve alcohol. read more

We liked the food a lot!! It tasted pretty good and seemed fresh. The tikka wasn't really what I expected. It is insanely liquidy, I added a picture of the grease that was at the top of the container. It was a bit of a turn off. But, the chicken is tasty and tender. Not too spicy like the rest of the reviews, but I also like my food very spicy. This wasn't much for me. The goat korma was spiced perfectly. It has bones in it, so be cautious, but it comes right off the bone. Very tender! Meat is cooked very well. The rice was also spiced beautifully, it was aromatic and delicious. Naan was puffier than I am used to and had a bit of a pancake texture and aroma. Not my favorite, but some like it that way. I prefer thinner naan. An extra dish of tikka that we ordered was forgotten, either because of Doordash or the restaurant, we are not sure. Just getting a refund from Doordash and not worrying about it, because the portions are very large here. This is a good, filling meal for a good price, just make sure you're prepared for grease and check that you have your entire order before taking food from your food delivery person. read more

I forgot to take a picture before digging in but it smelt soooo good! We absolutely love Punjab. More hits than misses and we are still exploring the menu. This time we got the mixed grill and chicken jalfrazi. The chicken jalfrazi is always wonderful and packs a punch of heat. The vegetables and the chicken in the sauce makes your taste buds dance, it's our favorite item on the menu. This was our first time trying the mixed grill. The tandoori was decent, the seekh was not that great, but the Chaplin? It was absolutely delicious. We have tried the butter chicken and chicken biryani before and did not care for those dishes. The lamb over rice is worth trying. Give this place a chance, it's pricey but worth it! read more

Menu offered the typical Indian restaurant spread. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. A little pricier than what I'm used to paying, but I'm happy to support local businesses these days. Chicken tikka was a large portion. Not for the faint of heart in terms of spiciness. Usually I prefer tikka masala with more tangy flavor profile, but this was still good. Garlic naan came a one extra large piece. They put on fresh diced garlic as opposed to the jarred crap that some places do, which I liked. read more

So it would seem that the new owners of this restaurant are indeed torn with the same cinnamon stick that the previous owners had. 1. Customer service is just as bad if not worse than when this place was Taj Mahal. I've eaten "in" three times since the change and having to ask for an iced water or bottled water while the server sits on her backside at the kitchen door kinda appalled me and subsequently had to ask for silverware to engage my chicken curry with, which tasted ok but was certainly not the boneless option described in the menu. 2. Food quality. When you advertise the dishes as "boneless", that's what they should be... right? But No: today I picked up my order of "Boneless" Chicken Curry and it's full of little bone shards designed to tear ones gums and throat apart. Come on guys, don't follow the Total arrogance of the previous owners, please improve this! I as a local and one who can cook all of your menu and more, would love to have a quality Indian/Pakistan restaurant that I could put my faith in. 3. Wait a minute? Did I just pay $17.00 including a tip for a dish that costs around $2 to make?? Rice, Naan included...price gouging my friends will put you out of business quick.. You can choose to listen to your customers (or indeed the lack of them, since you were empty when I picked up) or you can continue to cook the way mamma taught you to. I've been eating at this restaurant for years. I understand the management has changed at least once in the past 10 years or so. I've been eating Indian food my whole life and can say that the quality offered here is very high. From the freshness of their naan breads to the ingredients in their dishes I'm always very pleased. We're very lucky to have this restaurant on the eastern shore. I remember coming from the DC/Baltimore area and picking up at places in Annapolis just to have Indian/Pakistani food on the shore, such a treat. I think the Grubhub, etc movement has really helped Punjab Grill thrive and can tell you during this time of Covid-19 being able to pick up an Indian meal to enjoy is the highlight of our day. For those who understand authentic Indian/Pakistani cuisine it is evident that the cooks put genuine effort in preparing each dish. Naan is always fresh. Meat is perfectly flavorful--tender in the Biryani, smoky and crisp in the tikka masala. GrubHub deliveries are usually prompt and cleanly packaged. I myself do not speak Hindi and so it can be difficult to communicate with the server, however a misunderstanding due to language barrier in no way indicates that the owner is purposely trying to rip you off or lie about what you ordered. This place sucks! The food lacks flavor and oversaturated with oil and ghee. I ordered multiple dal dishes and they all tasted the same. It's a complete scam. Also note Taj Mahal Restaurant shares the same address as this place and when you call and order food from either restaurants it's the same food. Avoid it like the plague. read more

I do not recommend the Chicken tiki masala, it was grainy and very separated, it also lacked the creamy tomato experience. The bhindi marsala is wonderful as is the naan. I plan to order again, hopefully the butter chicken will be better. read more

The restrooms were quite dirty and remnants of previous diners remained on the windowsill by our table. The service was strange: we were barely greeted and within a moment of sitting we were asked if we were ready to order. We could have made a meal from the food on the waiter's apron. My dining partner's chicken dish was still on the bone and house salads were not available. Despite the fact there was only one other table of patrons, it was challenging to find the waiter and get his attention that we needed something at our table. This was the absolute worst food and service I've ever had! I called in a delivery order. First of all I had to repeat my order and info to the person on the like at least 10 times. Then it took almost and hour and a half for the delivery person to even get here. We he got downstairs he called and said the he was outside of my building. I asked him if he would come up because i lived in the apartment on the 3rd floor and he said no. I placed an order for 2 orders of garlic naan and they only gave me one so i called and he said i only ordered 1 but i know that wasn't true because i wrote down my order as i placed it. On top of the terrible service the food had absolutely no taste or flavor whatsoever it was terrible!! I will never order any thing from here again and I suggest that you don't either. read more

Punjab Kabab opened last week at the same location of TajMahal restaurant. A friend suggested trying after he had a great buffet experience. I ordered to-go Bombay chicken briyani, chicken tikka masala, chicken seek kabab. All of them were delicious. The chicken briyani has the right proportion of spice, meat was moist & tender. Wasn't overcooked. It wasn't too oily. It tasted great. The chicken seek kabab was fresh from the oven, spiced appropriately, not dry and quite tasty. The chicken tikka masala was think & creamy, flavorful, chicken pieces were cooked correctly. Sometimes if overcooked the chicken becomes too rubbery. This wasn't so. The quantity was a lot as well. Also had kheer for dessert. The kheer was thick, sweet and was awesome. Overall, the food was great. Under the new owners who have three decades of experience managing an Indian/Pakistani restaurant in NY, Salisbury finally has a decent place for Indian food. Went for a walk to find something besides hospital cafeteria food while visiting a patient and found Punjab. I don't eat a lot of Indian food, that's much more my husband's thing, so I wasn't sure what to order. I ended up getting a to-go container of a little of several items from the buffet. It was all delicious, even the okra which I almost didn't take because, well, it is okra. Later that evening I went back and ordered the lamb gyro for dinner. I absolutely love Greek gyros and was expecting this to be similar but it was very different and in the best way. Huge (two people could easily split it) and full of meat and veggies and sauces, the only similarity to a Greek gyro being the pita. There were only two others in there so I worry about the future of Punjab, so go try it and send your friends if you like it. read more

DO NOT let their colorless yelp page or menu taint your preconceived image of this establishment. They really have no idea on how to market their exquisite gifting. Even when you drive up to the BRIGHT orange cinder block building you may be getting second thoughts . . . but DO NOT TURN AWAY! You may not even be greeted when you enter the restaurant, not out of lack of caring, they are all in the kitchen focusing on the recipes handed down to them from hundreds of years of traditions. And hidden within the genius of their seemingly simple, humble Luncheon Buffet is an extraordinary treasure. Though it was never mentioned until I had to ask for it, your flat bread is not being baked until the moment you start down the buffet so that it is (eventually) delivered to your table steaming hot and glistening with butter. Just go - and then go again - and then bring your friends who will love you for doing so. After hoping for some delicious Indian food - I was mostly disappointed with my meal and the service from Punjab. We ordered 4 dinners, an appetizer and 1 order of kulcha. We ended up with 6 dinners - and got charged for the additional 2 dinners we did not order. After going through our food, I called them back explaining we received extra food, assuming it was someone else's and that we were charged for it and would bring it back/wanted that refunded and the man did not show any interest in caring at all. He cut me short on the phone and said "so?" And "sorry" before hanging up. As far as the food goes - my vegetable curry was mediocre at best - the sauce was very oily and the vegetables were soggy. Other meals were not great either - but the butter chicken apparently was good! Also the vegetable pakoras were pretty good - so they have that... Overall though I was not pleased with the service or food and don't see myself ordering from here again or recommending it. read more
