The food here is priced really well and you get large portions. The menu is also quite varied and has many options for vegetarians. I chose the potatoes over the rice for my chickpea curry dish and am so glad I did. Their mashed potatoes are scrumptious! Be sure to allow extra time; they make it when you arrive. Omg baby this spot right here! I was a little skeptical but I want to support local businesses and this one needs to be on everyone's list. The lady at the counter was so helpful and pleasant. Because everything looked great I couldn't decide. So I opted for tenders, salt and vinegar and two sides. When I opened up the food and tasted it, the flavor's exploded in my mouth! Horrible!!! My fish is so dried out I can't chew or swallow it. This fish is old and disgusting. It's like fish Jerky. This should have never been served. Shame on this restaurant for offering such bad food. They easily could have called me to let me know the rockfish wasn't available and I would have chosen something else. Wow! Traveling from Annapolis to Chesapeake, VA; we pulled up to the restaurant my husband was hesitant because there was no customers inside. However, we entered and ate some of the best food we've had in a long time. We had catfish, collards, yams, coleslaw, wings we dined in. Decor could be better. After the deliciousness of what we ate, we ordered oxtails (not carribbean style), w/rice and green beans to go. Also delicious! The food was so delicious that we placed an order for pickup on our way home. I'll have to give you an update later on the curry butter fish, scallops, smothered chicken, and meatloaf. This catchy name was on the GPS when I searched for restaurants during my recent stay in this area. I ordered the 3 pieces of fried trout, collards, and stewed tomatoes. A mini cornbread loaf comes with it. I don't think it was homemade, but it was tasty and an ample portion. I was in the area only 3 days and wanted to sample other eateries, but this was my best meal. The trout was perfectly crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside, and mildly seasoned. This place gave me whiplash. The outside of the restaurant and the name conjured up a quant country atmosphere with fried chicken and fish on the menu. There's even pot roast and meatloaf on the menu. The inside - different vibes. Orders are done at a counter. There are plastic booths and tables with swivel chairs from the 70s/80s genre. It looked disheartening, I must say. It gave off tones of fast food place frankly. BUT, IT WAS NOT. It took 20 minutes for the food to be cooked FRESH. I had the chicken tenders and my husband had the 2-piece catfish. It did not seem like it had ever been frozen. There were 3 pieces of chicken tenders that were so plump I could only eat two of them. The coleslaw, collard greens and hushpuppies were delicious also. The one downside is everything is served "to go". Everything was served in containers. Highly recommend. Practice patience but the food is worth the wait. We were looking for someplace new to eat in Cambridge and decided to check this place out. Staff were pleasant and restaurant was clean. Eclectic menu with a mix of Southern and Indian classics at decent prices. We ordered the seafood platter and pot roast with a ton of different sides. I wasn't expecting much, to be honest, but the food was excellent. The highlight was the fried catfish - fresh, flaky, well seasoned and the best I've had in years. The sides were also delicious and not just an afterthought. Service was definitely slow as others have mentioned so be prepared. We were told it would be 20 minutes but took closer to 40. Found this place on Google maps when searching for a reasonably priced eatery outside of the resort. When we arrived, the sign on the door clearly stated that this place was not fast food and to be prepared to wait. I was grateful for the notice and asked a gentleman outside if the food was good. His reply? O, it's good. I wouldn't lie to you. THEY ARE HALAL!!!! The restaurant was clean and the hostess was very pleasant. There was a TV with retro 80s and 90s music playing. The food was good and wasn't laden with grease. Keep in my this isn't the south so the flavors have a different nuance. When back on the Eastern shore, I would definitely go again. While the menu seemed very eclectic, I was overall happy with my experience. This is more of a fast food restaurant feel than a sit down establishment. As mentioned by fellow Yelpers, the food is made-to-order, so practice patience when you arrive. It was 6 in our group, so we tried to order a variety of food items and also get some staple dishes. The catfish was highly recommended by a fellow patron, which was lightly seasoned but flavorful. The Salisbury Steak was savory. As far as sides, they were both a hit and miss. Mac and Cheese came recommended as a hit but it definitely was lacking. It had no flavor and appeared to be made with artificial cheese. The collard greens were great-interestingly it had cubed ham pieces in it. The succotash was flavorful; fried okra was fresh; the chickpeas with Jasmine rice was very delicious. I have tried the butter chicken from this spot and it was delicious, my only complaint would be, their vegetable rice was mushy. I would also encourage them to start serving basmati rice and naan/ roti with the Indian/ Pakistani dishes instead of plain white rice or vegetable rice and pita. I will try their curry goat next time. Please note, this restaurant also offers soul food options as well. That kind of threw me off, but overall, that spot was a win. We came to the area on vacation, checked out this place for lunch. We got the seafood platter, the catfish was well seasoned, shrimp was solid, scallops were perfectly cooked, and crab cake was good. Our girls enjoyed their mac n cheese, cornbread, and chicken wings. Highly recommend this place. Note, be patient - took 20 minutes to get our food but totally worth it! Some friends and were on our way to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge on 6/17/25. We were looking for a place to grab something to eat and decided to give Butter and Grace a try. We were not disappointed. It appears to be family owned. The food was awesome. We ordered flounder and catfish with a variety of sides including cole slaw, mac & cheese, and baked beans. The meal was served with cornbread. We opted to eat outside at the picnic table and the gentlemen who took our orders brought them out to us. He was very nice and accommodating and came out to make sure we were happy with our food. He told us that his father was doing the cooking. The portions were large and the sides were very good. Hurray for Yelp! This is a halal mom&pop resturant which specializes in American Comfort food and a few Indian Curries as well. We had BBQ Chicken and Meatloaf, which were as you would expect, it was the side dishes that were wonderful, we had spinach ( a bit spicy but I loved it) , string beans, and charming baked beans. The cornbread which came as a side made a great dessert bite. I loved that the sides all had a great "country style" taste but without the pork and fat usually found in this style of cooking.
