I haven't been in Crossroads mall in forever and I swear the moment you walk through the doors, I had myself questioning what year it was because I thought I was transported to the year 2008. You're in an old food court with people reading books they just bought from half priced books, there's a live band called the "Criminal Squirrel Orchestra" singing their experimental folk indie in matching hot pink tees thanking the audience for putting up with them after each song lol, and all the restaurants has that "Global Village Coffeehouse" aesthetic (look it up you'll know what I mean ). The old navy and Barnes and nobles have their old logo, there are middle aged artists and craftsman tabling their handmade pottery, quilted aprons, or homegrown beeswax, an extremely worn out play area with children running around, you can see people on computers at the library which is connected to the food court? and kids riding on those kiddie car rides that rock back and forth... everything was pure nostalgia and it's all preserved here in Bellevue. Anyways the food was amazing; I didn't know what half the menu items were but I trusted google reviews for this one and the portions and range of flavors did not disappoint. James at first was hesitant because it was all vegetarian but everything was so flavorful, had so many textures we didn't even think about craving meat. I love this place. First of all, crossroads mall is easy for the whole family and it's right there by the frequent music acts. The woman that served today was really fast and friendly, and a real chaat artist based on how she put together our dishes. Specifically, we LOVE the aloo tikki chat. Essentially, if you didn't know, it's a potato croquette covered in well spiced sauces and garbanzo beans (like Chana masala). Then they add some crispy noodle pieces, some long strips of carrot, and maybe a sprinkle of bright pomegranate pieces. It doesn't always have every bit of that, but as I said, today I had an artist! The food was hot and flavorful, and we buy extra tiki on the side because we love our carbs and sopping up every drop of sauce. This was the first time I had pomegranate in there and I wasn't so sure at first but when they pop in your mouth it's this burst of flavor and cooling juice. Yum! read more

Everything on the chaat's special menu was something I wanted to try. Have to admit I haven't really had anything on the menu before so I can't really judge but we got the chole bhature and I definitely liked it. Punjabi Tadka is the new Indian place inside the Crossroads mall. Went by this evening to try and it was okay. A fellow Yelp friend went by and I took his recs, ordered the Samosa Chaat- it was okay, can try once. I ordered the Annapurna Thali too- 2 curries, a naan, a bowl of rice, raitha and gulab jamun came along. It was panner curry and Aloo today, the panner was so watery and lacked salt. Overall, I don't think I ll try the Thali. Maybe sticking to chaat is a good option. For the price point, the quantities were good read more

Went in on a weekend to try their Indian fare. We even got to experience live music at the mall while we were dining in as well. We got the paneer paratha thali with dal makhani & pindi chole. We also got the dahi puri as a side. Service was relatively quick. Food was delicious! read more

The food is all vegetarian. There are usually five curries to choose from. I have so many favorites it's hard to list them all. Try the daal makhni, the kadi pakoda, the matar, shahi, and palaak paneers, and the eggplant curries. The daal is always exquisite, the garlic naan is epic, and the mango lassi is scrumptious. It's in the Crossroads mall, so family friendly. It's our favorite Indian food in the metro area. Try it! read more

A relatively new addition to the Crossroads Mall food court which serves very authentic Indian vegetarian food. Paratha Thali is delicious and value for money. I picked it with aloo paratha and Amritsari Chhole (chickpeas). Amritsari Chhole are hands down the best in Greater Seattle area. On a different day, I tried Chana Masala (chickpeas as well) and they weren't as good as Amritsari Chhole. I will check their chickpeas special of the day before going next time. The Paratha had a good amount of stuffing which is rare at other places. The staff is friendly. Ambiance is that of a typical good court. I felt sad. I had a favorite restaurant. I knew it couldn't survive The Plague, I knew the food was slowly getting worse, but I kept driving to Ballard, no matter how bad the traffic was. The staff was kind, passionate, and creative. The brand name & menu were wonderful. I liked the sign that said "No leather, no fur," and still do. But that sign became 200 empty seats, filled with an entire warehouse of cardboard & carry-out containers that would never be used. It wasn't a friend in the local Restaurant Game that broke the news. It was a friend from the Polish side of Chicago. Years ago, when we were both Vegan, she had used her language skills to find unbelievable Tempura & Ramen in Downtown & the International District. She moved back Home for the deep-dish pizza, hot dogs smothered in cream cheese, and a fiance I can't wait to meet. The text came at 10am: Coffee Time in the Rainy City, time to eat in the Windy one. We were both devastated. I knew I had to get in my car and start driving. Ignore my phone. Bury myself in a book. Too impatient to wait for Amazon, too flustered and overwhelmed to go to the Library. I floated, unmoored, until docking at Bellevue Crossroads. My strategy for Half Price Books was simple: Persuasion by Jane Austen, missed in high school; and The Queen's Gambit, by Walter Tevis. I found what I needed, and looked at the time on my phone. 3PM. Time for breakfast. Something simple, something cheap, I'm already right next to a food court. But I found something better. A brand new Chaat joint, displaying all the tools to go from 1 store in the mall, to a 5,000+ square foot Flagship, then five stores, then 15 across Puget Sound. Flat-screen TVs, not chalkboards that need to be edited by hand. Clover POS, tried & true, not Toast, which is revolutionary enough to have over 50% market share, but still in Beta (millions of stakeholders in my industry are on edge, waiting to see if Toast's upcoming software update will be Toast 1.1, or Toast 2, Electric Boogaloo). I like Clover because it already works. And I liked the Talent I saw - people skills, tech skills, culinary talent, and leadership. I googled a few things on the menu, then approached the counter. We started talking. He asked me about my spice tolerance three times. Would've kept asking me, if I hadn't told him that my life & palette started 100 kilometers outside of Dubai, and I welcomed an attempt at culinary assassination. "As spicy as YOU can handle, bro."   What I ordered doesn't matter. It's my favorite spot now. I'll be back, and I want to try everything. read more

Good Thali, horrible chaat. The food thali was pretty good, especially the Punjabi kadhi. The chaat (paani puri, and dahi papdi chaat) were plain terrible, with no real tanginess. The poori felt stale, and the chutney was non-existent. read more

I really enjoyed this restaurant! I had the Annapurna Thali and it was fantastic! A good portion of food for a reasonable price. I had a choice of 2 dishes out of 3 options and I chose matter paneer and chole! The rice was very good and the roti was delicious! I love that they include one gulab jamun! I'm not keen on pickled lemon and chili but my husband really enjoyed them. The chai was also very good. My husband ordered the Puri Thali that came with 2 big bhautras, which came with chole and aloo capsicum. The menu has a lot of appealing items without being overwhelming. I'm looking forward to trying their pani puri, dahi puri, and paratha next time. read more

I am so very glad to see a good vegetarian restaurant open at the Crossroads mall. This is a brand new Indian restaurant that opened just a week ago! Honored to be their first Yelp reviewer. I think they have one of the biggest plots as compared to any other restaurant in the food court. We came for a soft opening and just had the Aam Panha so please excuse my accelerated review for this place. We really enjoyed the Panha and the owner told us that they make Mango shake fresh per order. I am definitely going to be back to try their Chaat, especially pani puri and Bhel puri. So watch out for my updated review once I try their main dishes. Price point is good, pretty standard for any indian Chaat place. The owner also told us that they make food mild to medium spicy so that even kids can enjoy all the dishes. Talk about being thoughtful !! They can also make it spicy per order which is nice ! I was very excited! A Punjabi vegetarian restaurant in the heart of crossroads. I don't know how long they have been open but definitely growing pains. I ordered a veg thali which is a combination of various vegetarian curries, served with white rice and naan. We also tried papdi chaat. The veg curries in my thaali were palak paneer (cottage cheese cubes with spinach) and kadhi (yogurt curry with chick pea flour dumplings). The palak paneer was watered down, no spice, no flavor. It is really difficult to get palak paneer wrong. I specifically asked that my roti should not have butter on it. But it was served with butter. When I looked at the butter on my roti and without even touching it, asked them why there was butter on it, instead of changing it out or apologizing- they said "who did you ask for no butter" and then "it is homemade butter, you should try it My wife found the papdi chaat passable at best. The only saving grace was the kadhi. Which was nothing to write home about, but much better than the palak and papdi chaat. The dumplings in it were not dumplings; instead were just blended into the curry. read more

Absolutely delicious food! We are British and love Indian food. We have tried several Indian restaurants in the area over the years. This was our first meal from Punjabi Tadka and we were impressed. We tried 2 curries and the Samosa Chaat. The spiciness was perfect for us and there was so much flavour! We will be back again for more in the future. read more
