My dogs are very wiggly and anxious about getting their nails trimmed or having bath. Joanna, Jolie, and Jonny has made a huge difference in both my grooming related K9 anxiety and my actual k9s having anxiety while getting their grooming needs met. My rescue dog had a traumatic experience getting nails trimmed recently at a different Petco grooming salon in Huntington Beach. She has since been very challenging to get even the basics completed such as nail trimming. Joanna cured the issue during the second visit. My dog wasn't a wiggly shuddering poor mess. You have no idea how relieved I was after the nasty incident that happened before. My dog got called names, hit, and slapped by the groomer there in Huntington Beach Petco. It was the most blood curdling shrieking I have ever heard my dog make and it gives me the shudders every time I remember it. Anyhow, the rest of the store experience I have had has been also very positive at this location. The merchandising is neatly done and the cashiers are absolutely wonderful there. They always have my store pickup orders ready almost right away. Sometimes in less than 30 minutes. I have never had to wait in line during checkouts and my dogs love saying hello to every one of them. The aquatic section has a nice selection of all things fish related. I'm not a hardcore fish keeper at home so their stuff suffices for my needs. It is more organized and well kept than the Adams Avenue store so I have never had trouble finding what I need like aquatic salt, for example. Given my experience of going to at least 4 other Petco stores in the vicinity and having enough comparison samples and experience, I think this really is one of the best Petco in the area. Lastly, parking area is huge and ample. Stacking coupons is possible and cashier will be more than happy to assist with account issues.

Our dog would jump on us, nibble on us, chase after anything blowing in the wind (nearly taking off our arms), and would never listen to our commands although he knew them well. My husband and I hired a different trainer (with good reviews) before Matt and he basically told us to get toys and play hide and seek with his dog food to mentally drain his energy. That lasted for like a week and we were back at square one. Then everything changed once we hired Matt. Our dog did the 4 week program. What was effective about Matt's training is that he would come and pick up our dog to do training around our neighborhood. This makes so much more sense than to send a dogs to a boarding facility which they may be great there but then right back to their bad habits once they return home. We noticed a huge difference after just only a few days. Matt taught our dog leash manners, how to remain focus despite distractions and how to listen and follow commands. Before Matt's training, it was difficult to walk our dog in high traffic areas and it seemed easier and less stressful to just allow him to stay home. Now our dog can enjoy his life to the fullest because we can take him to places confidently knowing that he is going to behave properly. Our girls always come out looking absolutely beautiful -- perfectly trimmed, soft, and so well cared for. Shebo is our go-to groomer and she is incredibly talented. She truly has a gift and takes such amazing care of our doggies. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and it shows in her work. Danielle is also so sweet and wonderful. She did a great job on our Yorkie's cut. Honestly, the entire staff is kind, welcoming, and professional. The salon is always very clean, which is extremely important to me. I've heard way too many horror stories about big chain grooming places and have even had bad experiences myself at other locations. Because of that, I'm very selective about where I bring my dogs -- and I would NEVER take them anywhere else. The biggest sign for me? My dogs get excited when we pull into the parking lot! That says everything. Most dogs dread going to the groomer or the vet, but our girls genuinely love coming here. They're treated with so much love and care. I took my sweet Maltipoo, Hobie, to Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, on 2/14/26 in Rancho Santa Margarita for what was supposed to be a simple mini grooming. Later that evening, Hobie developed an extremely severe rash in his private and rear areas. He was clearly in pain, and it was heartbreaking to watch. Our veterinarian examined him and indicated the irritation was consistent with grooming-related razor burn or excessive shaving. The vet's immediate question was, "Why were his private areas shaved? There is no hair there to shave." Hobie would yelp when I applied his medicated cream, something no pet owner ever wants to witness. I provided the owner with photos and veterinary documentation. Despite seeing the images and reviewing the vet's notes, I was initially told there would be no refund for either the grooming or the veterinary expenses. After further discussions, the owner ultimately agreed to refund only the grooming fee. She was not very pleasant. This was painful for my dog and distressing for me. Hobie is a gentle, loving little dog, and seeing him suffer was devastating. Please be cautious, especially if you have sensitive-coated breeds like poodles, Maltipoos, and similar mixes. My groomer was Kara. I sincerely hope no other dog has to go through what Hobie did.
