5 stars only because there's not 6 or more to give! I've been taking my sheltie to see Maria for 5 years...he's almost 15 now and she's literally the only person I trust with him. She's attentive and caring to his old man needs. I also have a 1.5 yr old 80 lb Australia Shepard who can be a handfull. I believe he was abused at one point by a veterinarian when I had him neutered. He loves other dogs but has trust issues with people now. Maria did great with him and now he loves her. Highly recommend!!

Don't ever board your dog with "Maria Ledbetter", the owner of "Pup'e Cutz" located at: 124 S Federal Hwy Suite 2 Pompano Beach FL 33062 We thought our beloved 5 yr old "teddy bear" was in good care with Maria, however, we had to board our dog with her from February 6-10, 2021 because my Mom had passed away. Maria boards animals in her home, which I was ok with that but I have told her multiple times that we keep our dog in a carrier at night as well as when we aren't at home during the day for our dogs own safety. I have also offered to bring our personal carrier to her house multiple times but she said it was not necessary. During the weekend of my mom's funeral, Maria called to give me details of "how bad my little 13 lb dog had been while she stepped out for a few hours and proceeded to inform me that my dog ate her husbands premade lunch sack that had been left out on their kitchen table. Obviously, she left our dog unattended AND they didn't put her in a confined space. My dog, like any unattended dog would do, jumped up on a chair and up onto the top of their table and ate most all of what was in the lunch bag, including chocolate and other candies. Needless to say, my dog was very ill!! You would think that Maria would have apologized for her carelessness, however, she just said that my dog had been bad and was a little perturbed with what she had done. When I went to pick up my dog, I again reminded Maria that she should have put her in a cage or a safe place before leaving her alone and at the very least she should have put anything knowingly harmful to my dog; out of her reach. Fast forward, Memorial Day weekend 2021, I decided to give Maria another chance to board my dog since we planned a last minute trip for the weekend. Unbelievably, she called me yet again to tell me that while she was asleep; my dog got into her large purse she left on her table that had all of her snacks and a one lb. bag of chocolate covered almonds in it!!! She said, "during the middle of the night, I heard a loud thump but decided not to get up to check on what the noise was & when I woke up, I found my purse on the floor and the entire bag of chocolate covered almonds gone!!! Needless to say my dog was very, very sick!!! She proceeded to tell me that she made her "throw everything up, 3 big piles" and she is fine for now. Once again, Maria's position was that my dog had misbehaved and was very bad. She didn't take any responsibility for not putting our dog in carrier or safe place and by my dog out during the middle of the night and Maria leaving chocolate in a place that a small dog could access, just like the first time a couple of months before, she expressed no apologies for her irresponsibility and blamed my dog!!!! If all of that doesn't take the cake..... after telling me that my beloved dog could have died due to her irresponsibility & carelessness she went on to tell me that she forgot to tell me that her price was now $10 more a day!!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I told Maria we would not be using her ever again because of her carelessness, irresponsibility & illogical & irrational reasoning is totally unforgivable! Since I wasn't due to fly home for two more days and because I was extremely concerned about our dogs health & safety, I immediately got in touch with a family member who was able to get my dog out of the "uncare" of Maria Ledbetter and we had no choice but to pay her ridiculous fee increase. I am just so thankful that my dog seems to be recovering and I pray that she doesn't suffer any irreversible illness! Don't take a chance on your pet by doing any business with this woman! Update: June 5, 2021 - After Maria Ledbetter, owner of Pup'e Cutz almost killed my dog twice because of her irresponsibility while I was boarding my dog with her, I left a bad review last Sunday (Memorial day weekend). She decided to call me today and left me this lovely voicemail message- see picture screenshots of her voicemail 6/5/21- Additional update- As if her voice mail wasn't bad enough, she followed it up with a very threatening text message to me. If you love your dog PLEASE DO NOT take him/her to this groomer.. we had the WORST experience ever.. I decided to use this groomer based on the good reviews and the fact that when I called they sounded nice, they told me they do not caged the animals, that they were a family owned business and that Maria and her husband operated the business together, everything sounded great so I decided to use them, BIG MISTAKE! I took my 8pd morkie there to get a puppy cut, when I picked up my dog he didnt look that great, the puppy cut looked different, and my dog was very calm/sad looking, he usually is very playful and happy, I should have known something was wrong but I was in a hurry since I was late to work and my boyfriend was waiting for me in the car, so I didn't think anything of it. I paid Maria for the grooming, while my dog was on the floor with the others. I didn't notice much until I brought him home and my boyfriend checked him, the do was exhausted as you can see in the pics, he had clipper burns on his neck, his nails were cut so short it look like he had bled from them, he licked them for 4 days, the haircut was horrible as you can see in the photos that I posted and the worst part was that my dog who is a very happy dog was extremely sad for 3 days.. 20 minutes after leaving I contacted Maria via text and sent her photos of my dog and let her know that we were not happy with the haircut and about the nails and clipper rash, the worst part about this was that she did not reply to any of my texts, and over a week later I still have not heard from her, no apology, NOTHING.. A responsible Groomer would've called me and been concerned about my dog, but this woman just ignored my texts.. this makes me wonder if some of these reviews on here are fake because I'm sure we're not the first people that this has happens to. These people are in it for the money, they don't care about the animals, it's obvious I think she should be more compassionate and do a better job grooming the animals, maybe go back to grooming school because she literally butchered my dog. PLEASE don't be a fool like me and trust these people,I love my baby and I feel guilty that I took my dog to a place like this to have someone hurt him this way, because god only knows how they treated him there. Maria did a great job with Jack. I had a hard time finding a groomer who knew and had experience grooming large breed, lots of fur, dogs. Maria had just the experience I was looking for and did a lovely job. She even sent glamour shots when he was done!

Maria has been grooming my dog for five years and she's amazing. I have never been disappointed and feel confident each time I bring my dog in for a grooming. She's the best in the business and she really cares. My family were breeders in New Jersey and I'm very picky who I will bring my dog to and I consider Maria absolutely the best of the best.

It's obvious how much Maria loves animals. My little guy can't wait to get in the door when I bring him for grooming or day care. I highly recommend her services and have been a grateful customer for 4 years!

I've been taking Buddy to Maria FL or seven years, and love all the compliments I get on his hair cut, but the best is how happy Buddy is both to go to puppy daycare and how happy he is to play the other furry friends. Best salon in Broward county

I have been taking my guinea pig, Gilbert, to get his nails trimmed here for over a year now. Maria is wonderful with him. In addition to trimming his nails, she gives him lots of love and attention. She is an animal lover and is passionate about what she does. She takes pride in her business and I would recommend this place to others. read more

Our girl Kiera enjoyed her spa day at Pup E Cutz with Maria! I knew from the initial phone call I had finally found a groomer for Kiera. While I've had many dogs, none that required regular grooming. Maria was very helpful telling us the different options to groom a golden. I was happy to find out they allow the dogs roam, and don't use cages. Kiera got a bath, a cut, deshedding, the works! She is so soft and fluffy and seemed to really enjoy her time. I even got the cutest photo when she was done! We will definitely be back and will only be bringing our pups here from now on! read more

The best groomer I have ever come across hands down! Maria is meticulously and my Yorkie just LOVES herhis tail wags a when he sees her and he runs to her so I know he's taken care of when he's there! Maria is an artist and extremely talented with the scissors, she LOVES what she does and it shows The doggies are not kept in a kennel or crate they are with her all sleeping or playing in a safe area at her place. Place is too small. Entrance door is not locked while handling pets in the handling area. They groom on the table in the same space that they daycare other pets who are rome free in a very small room. My pet was stressed and I would not recommend this place. read more

I can't say enough good things about Pup'e Cutz. I just feel so grateful I was able to find them. First off, they totally squeezed us into their schedule right when we called them. We were traveling and wanted to get our dog, who was sandy from the beach, groomed before hitting the road. It was so generous how accommodating they were. One of my first impressions once we arrived was Maria; she sat down on a stool to meet my dog and get to know her. She really took the time to understand what kind of cut we are looking for what if any concerns we had and to connect with us. What a difference that made. It's not easy leaving your dog with someone you don't know, but by the time we did we felt more than comfortable. When I picked up our girl she looked beeee-uuuutiful. She had cute bowes and a bandana. The only sad part about this is that they are 31/2 hours from our home. I wish they could always be the one we went to. Anyone in the area, please take advantage of this awesome hidden gem you have access to. Our family was so happy and Joli was happy!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have a very tiny 2 1/2 pound TeaCup Yorkie and she has very fragile legs. I keep her hair all the way to the floor. She looks like a pretty little dust mop running around my home. Maria grooms her every 3 weeks and does a beautiful job of it! I was very nervous having to change groomers at first. My little girl loves going to Maria. All I have to do is tell her, "We're going to see Maria today" and she gets so excited. We both love Maria! Every time she comes home to me she looks and smells beautiful! Maria truly loves grooming dogs and is the best I've found! BTW she lets the dogs free to walk around and doesn't cage them! Some how, they are always well behaved and get along so well it amazes me. Give Maria a try, you will be happy you did! read more

Phenomenal experience! Maria was super knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and professional. We were in Pompano Beach for a short vacation and brought in our cavalier King Charles spaniel Max for a much needed full groom - Maria did a spectacular job! She put Max right at ease with the other dogs in for grooming that day (it's a cage-free facility) and patiently talked with us about what we wanted. Max looked clean and amazing at the end - he was happy, healthy, and had made new friends! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Maria! read more

Maria is a God sent not only for Brutus but for my own well being. Maria came into my life after my partner Frank of 33 years was tragically killed last September in a car accident. Frank had visited Maria and Pup'e Cutz and was so enthusiastic about taking Brutus to her spa. Frank never had the pleasure seeing the loving attention Maria has provided to Brutus and all her "babies". Frank shared with me how much he enjoyed meeting Maria and her genuine concern for "man's best friend". I honor Frank every time I bring Brutus into Maria's caring environment. Frank loved Brutus so much! I also have taken Maria's advise to clean Brutus's teeth daily and the results are miraculous! Brutus's teeth, breath, and over all well being have been life changing. My husband and I recently moved to the area and found this groomer on Yelp, and tried them based on the reviews. We couldn't be happier with our Westie's puppy cut and the friendly service provided. Both Maria and her husband treated us like family from the first phone call. When Milo was ready to be picked up, we got a text with a few pictures of him looking perfect and very happy. I think this is a very disorganized place. The dogs are everywhere walking all around the tiny area . They make appointments for no reason since there are like 10 dogs all over the place plus you don't know when the service will be finished since there is no organization at all. As soon as I came in I almost fell down with dog pee all over the floor!! The front door was broken nor can you enter since they had 6 dogs at the front door waiting to be groomed.. read more

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this salon is. Who ever is an animal lover will and would appreciate not having their dogs or cat being crated. FYI When an animal is not used to being crated and is taking somewhere and place in a crate they are going to be overstressed so that will not be a good experience for them. The owners are so amazing!!! I am a mommy to 2 fur-babies (Pooka & Lola) Pooka has really bad anxiety and detachment issues. For those that know Pooka would tell you she is a ankle bitter..... The first time I left them there and went to pick them up (which they didn't know I was on my way) as I approached the window I could see my special girl sleeping on top of the owners husband. So YES by seeing how she allowed someone to hold her meant the world to me since then I have been using them not only as groomers but also keeping them while we are on vacation. I finally am able to leave and enjoy my vacation in peace because I know that my girls are being well taken care of and being loved.... So if you are looking for a groomer that is genuine, loving, caring, honest and responsible they are the ones for you and your fur babies. read more

I was a tourist in the area over long memorial weekend with my yorkie do to hot weather I took him to Pup'e Cutz and they gave such an excellent service to my dog . My dog didn't want to leave !!! I appreciate all the service they gave to my little pup . And was having a wonderful time playing with owner and was barking to to leave and I than the owner of this shop for the great services a very clean environment!! We our Yorkie here monthly. They do a fantastic job taking care of him and making him look amazing. Not only does he get a great grooming, Maria lets him stay and play all day, which is great if you are busy professionals like my fiancé and I. Our puppy loves going to get groomed here and Maria does a fantastic job. I would highly recommend. read more

Maria, is The best groomer. I moved from Coral Springs and was worried about finding someone good. I am very particular when it comes to my dog. He is my baby. Puppy Cutz was recommended by a good friend. From the first visit till two years later we are extremely happy with this place. Just got a new puppy that needed a quick nail trim. I didn't expect how awesome the owner Maria could possibly be. I just recently bought a condo in hat area. My Pomeranian is 6 months old and I was very nervous to leave her anywhere. I had to find a groomer because she had been at the dog park everyday for four weeks and her Pomeranian Fluff was deflated. I felt comfortable the moment I spoke to Maria on the phone. When I walked in Maria and her husband were extremely comforting. Lala came out looking beautiful. She had a true Pomeranian cut. Amazing pet salon! The owners are super friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in, and I felt total trust leaving my dog in their hands. They understand that each dog is different and have their own personalities and treat them with such care and affection. These are the most compassionate people I have run into in a long time. My mom's dog got out and is never out by herself. The owners found her and drove around to find where she lived. My mom was reunited with her pup quickly because of these caring folks. My mom is 89 and her pup is her life. Thanks so much. read more

Puppy Cutz is the best groomer out of the 4 we have tried locally, throughout the years. Maria is great! They are Priced well and our dog always comes home happy and clean. They just love Amimals! We travel to Naples often and leave Mia with them on the weekend without any worries. I highly recommend them. read more

Established in 2008.

When I opened this business I did not know how to groom. I was going to open franchises from here to California, then I went thru a very traumatic event that took my anxiety to a different level so I was not able to carry out this plan and I started grooming school as I submersed myself into this career I began to fall in love with each of my furry babies and the new art form I had discovered as painter, sculptor, potter and photographer this seemed to be a very good fit. I tried to do some test sales but I don't like sales and inventory, besides I don't like to push products on to my customers. Last year after I knowing that I had my grooming down but still wanted to do other dog related service I went back to learning gentle dog cleaning that I am begging to offer as a service. My husband was working for a big company till recently, It was killing him and I wanted someone who felt the same about pets as I did, so he came on board to help me. We treat our pets like the family they are

I've been in business before in the hospitality business having my own restaurant and managing Officer Clubs in Europe and the Panama Canal. I also have been in the construction industry but grooming is good for the soul and for people who have gone thru some type of traumatic episode in life it is the perfect career to find balance in life. I love working with my furry friends and the peace they bring to my heart is as rewarding as seeing them trust me and let me make make them look beautiful. To me this is more of a life style because it allows me not just to work, socialize with amazing pet owners but it allows me to practice all my creative outlets, as well as it allows me to learn new things every day about animals their care and new natural and holistic ways to keep our babies healthy and happy.

Today was a sad day for me and my furry baby, Sugar. We had to say goodbye to Maria.....we are moving to the Gulf Coast of Florida and Sugar had her last grooming at Pupe Cutz Pet Grooming. Before my husband and I rescued Sugar in April - (a 3 1/2 year old Maltese Yorkie mix), we brought our 12 year old Maltepoo, Tucker to Maria's. Tucker could not wait to say goodbye to me as he ran into PupeCutz. He loved hanging with the other dogs and spending time with Maria. Maria does not believe in keeping her "babies' in crates while they wait their turn for grooming. The lucky dogs get to socialize with each other in a controlled and loving environment. They all listen to Maria! She is the leader of the pack. Maria also has a doggie day care and overnight boarding. Tucker stayed with her on many occasions. No, he did not stay alone at her shop, he went home with her and got so much love and attention! I never for a moment felt bad leaving my Tucker with her when we had to go away. I knew he would have fun and receive many hugs and kisses! He was on medications and took several a day. Maria made sure he got his meds each day he stayed with her. It was never a hardship for her to take extra care of my guy..... In all the years my family and I have had a pet who has gone to groomers, Maria is by far the best. She is Mama to her little four legged charges. She loves what she does and it shows in how beautiful my doggies look after spending time with her. They are smiling and happy when I pick them up. If I could bring her with us to our new home town, I surely would. It will take a lot of research and a lot of trust for us to find a groomer who loves our baby Sugar, (and Tucker who passed away in March), the way Maria does. Maria and Kirk are the kindest, most amazing people with authentic love and compassion for dogs. I exclusively rely on them to groom AND board our two Yorkies, Rocky and Lucy. After we moved to Plantation, I continued to drive them 40 minutes each way to Pup E Cutz because they are so well cared for and loved there. I have complete peace of mind when Rocky and Lucy are with Maria and Kirk. They are the ONLY people who take our dogs home with them at night and love them like their own. Where else can you find such priceless peace of mind?? Pup E Cutz is our second home! Maria is a true dog whisperer-something funny happens when I walk into her shop. The dogs there are no longer dogs-they seem to transform into furry people with their own distinct personalities! It is truly entertaining and hilarious at times. I first found Pup e Cutz after adopting a small party poodle and highly recommend this place in Pompano Beach. My puppy had severe separation anxiety and Ms. María & Kirk have worked with my little Lucky boy with lots of love, kindness, & patience. He's now thriving, and a very happy dog! I highly recommend this Doggy Day Care where the dogs are free to roam around & not caged! That was high on my list when looking for a second home for my dog. Ms. María is the sweetest person and really treats all of the dogs like her own. I have peace of mind knowing my dog is safe & happy everyday while I'm at work. Thank you Martina for not bringing your dog to our wonderful groomer, Maria! They say our pets reflect their owners personality, and I for one am glad my baby won't have to endure yours. Pupecutz takes the time and gives the love that my little guy needs. He is free to play with the other dogs while he waits to be groomed. And I'm always confident that he will come out looking handsome. While patience and love of the animals is the environment I choose for my dog to be groomed in, I hope you find some groomer that treats your dog as well. I have been using Pupecutz for several years and have never encountered unsanitary conditions. Dogs have accidents but Maria cleans it up immediately. I have 2 Yorkie's, Maria has been taking care of my 6 year old for 3 years, along came a 2 month old, I have no hesitation in continuing to use this salon for both. Maria and her husband are the only 2 employees for a reason, they both love pets and treat them like you would expect, I have also used their dog sitting services, I can vacation with no concerns whatsoever. If you love your pet and you want them to be treated with love this is the place! These people genuinely love their work, it shows in everything they do. I have 2 Yorkies that I have been bringing regularly to Pup'e Cutz for both grooming and boarding. I am extremely particular where I bring my fur babies and I can wholeheartedly recommend this salon. The care and the love they receive here is second to none. Maria and and Kirk treat each pet as if they are family members. My pups enjoy going there and when I board them I know that they are well taken care of and above all safe. The salon and surrounding areas are always being cleaned throughout the day and I know that while in their care my fur babies are safe and loved. The quality of their work is amazing. Not a bad average in sixteen years the baby sitting 1 was due wanting caviar at tuna price the other lady I had to have Help Me Howard do a piece I never even did her dog but with yelp it is what is.
