So we have a six-year-old who is that a phase in life now where she wants a dog. We knew this day would come but it still hit us as a surprise. We are not pet lovers in any stretch of the imagination. We only own for the most part turtles and pet fish. But the things you do when you love your kids right? We pass by the pet store daily and decided to stop in with our daughter. It is a fairly tight space but they make good use of it. There are lots of cute puppies of various breeds and the employees including the owner who is very present gave us a quick break down on "puppy ownership 101". We were surprised that dog ownership can be on the pricey side especially the ones as young as the puppies(2,000+). But this place does give you a lot of value for the cost. They offer free classes for the life of your pets to teach you how to potty train, overall take care and other various areas of pet ownership and it's never a cost as long as you purchased your pet from their store. They have lots of accessories to go with your purchase including a fence that you can put inside of your home and of course several varieties of dog food as well as travel gear. All of the animals appear be well taken care of and we love the fact that they are a Christian owned establishment and they are very vocal about that. They also do not purchase dogs from what's called a puppy mills, or shady dog breeding companies. So that's good to know and they also include proof of lineage with each pet purchase. We are not ready to take the leap and become pet owners yet but this place appears to be a very good option and the employees look like they really care about the well-being of every animal that sets foot in here. read more

We were told to return for potty training and 3 days after purchased the dog started having horrible diarrhea and when I called the store for the owner, she kept on not being available. I ended up taking him to a vet to find out he had parvo. Called the store again for the owner and she was out for a conference for 2 weeks or something like that. $700 later the dog was healthy, and the owner never called back after me leaving plenty of messages for her to call me back about the situation. The girl that answer the phone was unaware of how to do anything. Do not recommend buying from here. I would give this place NEGATIVE stars. I got my boxer here 4 years ago. This place still haunts me. I worry about all those sweet puppies and how they are treated at this store. NEGLECT! I wrote a review about my experience a while back but have to write again. I had a friend stop by this store last week. She checked in on FB and I immediately called her to advise her against doing any business with these people. They sell sick puppies. One word PARVO! If one one puppy there has it they ALL have it. It is super contagious and if not caught in time and treated with a HEAFTY vet bill the puppy will die. One HUGE red flag is they do not provide a health gauruntee. In fact you have to sign something saying once the puppy leaves the store they are not responsible for anything. When I got my boxer , the very next day he was lethargic , throwing up and had diarrhea. I also notice dhe was weazing and had some green mucus coming from his nose. I took him to my vet right away and he tested positive for PARVO and PNEUMONIA . We had to take him to am emergency vet where he stayed ina secluded pod for 5 days. Luckily, they were able to save him... but it cost about $3,000. I had to pay that in addition to the cost of my pup from the puppy store. Their response... NOTHING.... well they tried to blame me for my dog being sick. After that phone call (took a lot of work to get anyone on the phone) I could no longer get anyone on the phone. This place needs to be shut down. The owner has no paasion for the business. She is no where to be found, there is little to no management or customer service. The puppies are in the care of minimum wage teenagers. They are kept in small kennels stepping in their own shit. It was a rainy afternoon, and we needed to get out of the house. We've been considering getting a family dog so we decided to make a trip up here from Dunwoody thinking that they would have a good variety of breeds and puppies, and we would be able to research which breed would fit best with our kids. Plus, they advertise that their puppies are from reputable breeders and not puppy mills. Anyway, we were highly disappointed with our visit. First of all, there weren't many puppies or breeds. Second of all, they were extremely rude. They had a handful of puppies in cages and two playpens for customers to visit with puppies. The playpens were disgusting with stool smeared on the ground, which you'd think they would clean up between visits. There were two chairs in the playpen where they instructed the adults to sit and for the kids to sit on the floor. There was no way in hades my kids were sitting on that nasty floor. So they stood the whole time, which we kept getting dirty looks for. I told them we were interested in the doodle breeds so they brought out their only doodle, which they called a goldendoodle. This dog was clearly a golden retriever, not a doodle. It was a sweet, cute golden, but definitely not a doodle. Anyway, while we were visiting with the puppy, the owner? came to us and asked if we were planning to buy a puppy today. We replied that we were currently doing research to see what breed would be best for our family. The owner then said (in a pleasant, mousy, condescending tone of voice), "Well, just to let you know, we're going to have to ask you to step out of our visiting area if there are other customers who are wanting to visit puppies." There was one other couple in the store at the time. I proceeded to tell her, "We just plan to visit with one more puppy." Then she repeated, "OK, but if it gets busy then we're going to have to ask you to step out." So we said, "Not a problem, we'll leave now." She then said, "Please come back to visit anytime." The only thing worse than a blatantly rude person is a rude individual who speaks to you in a pleasant tone of voice acting like they aren't being rude. In the words of my six year old, "That's bad business!" On another note, they wouldn't even let me use their restroom. How are you supposed to decide on buying a $2-3k puppy within a few minutes?? I saw a cute puppy and Darlene Patterson, one of the owners allowed us in a small fenced in area to play with the puppy. We played with the pup and eventually left because we felt the puppy was a little to pricey. I called Darlene when we got home and asked if she would take a lesser amount and she declined. A few minutes later she called back and we had struck a deal. So now we have our little Napoleon. ABOUT THE STORE & THE STAFF The store was clean and neat, the employees were friendly. Darlene, the owner was very knowledgeable. She told us that she was a former vet tech and that she had a great passion for animals. She explained to us all about puppy mills, which I had no knowledge of. I was impressed, to say the least, with Darlene initially. WHAT THEY CLAIM... WHAT SETS THEM APART FROM OTHER PET SHOPS??? I am sad to say that Puppies Galore is no different from any other run of the mill pet shop. There puppies come from Lambriar, Inc., based on the research I compiled it is a puppy mill. I had to go to Puppies Galore because she gave us paperwork for the wrong puppy and the kid there said he would have Darlene call me. I had wanted to ask her about the company Lambriar, Inc. Unfortunately, she never returned my call. I attempted to reach her a total of three times. Her sales pitch is basically this... and she is a real fast talker. I'm a vet tech, I love dogs. If you buy a dog from a puppy mill you will get a sick or underdeveloped dog. If you buy from us you are not getting a SICK puppy or puppy mill puppy, we deal with breeders. Oh, but there are no good breeders in GA (which she also states on her website...until she changes it after reading this!) so we go other places because we want to deal with reputable breeders who love their animals like their own. Oh, you can also purchase insurance from us in case your puppy gets sick, but if you can't afford it that's ok because none of our puppies are sick because we do not buy puppy mill puppies. SO SINCE ALL THEIR PUPPIES ARE HEALTHY & I BELIEVED HER, I did not purchase the additional insurance. :-( 5 DAYS LATER... WE ARE AT THE VET AT MIDNIGHT WITH A SICK PUPPY!!! Napoleon, we thought had allergies. Based on what we read it isn't uncommon in his breed. Darlene had assured us that the puppy was healthy so we had no reason to think otherwise. Then, Friday he started getting sick and vomiting. By Friday evening he was so bad that I took him to an after hours vet. They checked him out, took some xrays and gave us some medication for the little fella. Napoleon was found to have a respiratory infection and the vet said it had been there more than the 5 days we had owned him. I called Darlene and she did return my call when I told her employee that we had a sick puppy on our hands. She said she was sorry he was feeling bad, but since we hadn't purchased the additional insurance there was nothing she could do to help, except give us free dog food. I asked her if she would pay 1/2 the vet bill, which seemed fair to me. SHE SAID NO.... We love Napoleon and are very blessed to have such a sweet little guy. I don't know how many of you will read this, but that's my story on how we got the BEST LITTLE PUPPY IN THE WORLD, and how a woman claiming to have such a deep love for puppies can turn her back and put profit over welfare. They will tell you that you can finance a dog. It is not financing. It is a lease that will make you owe double the amount that you are already paying. My dog was 1,999 dollars but she said she misquoted me, he is supposed to be 2,999 dollars. I got him for 1,999 but honestly I should have bought him with my credit card. It is disgusting and unethical to lease a dog. A dog is a living, breathing thing. I can't step foot in that place again. I got a beautiful, healthy baby dog though and thank God for that. I will do all I can to make pet leasing SCAMS illegal in the state of Georgia. The owner is a christian woman so I hope she honestly believes it's financing and not a lease. After about five minutes, the lady at the front asked if I was "ready to buy" I said "no, I have to pick a puppy first." Honestly I kinda feel bad for these puppies.. The store owner doesn't seem to care about the puppies very much..just to sell them and make money. The puppy we were looking at was soo incredibly cute but she had an awful cough that would linger. She was a yorkie and looked to be about a month old. When I asked the owner how old she was she didn't know and told me she would look it up in her files and let me know. At least 20 minutes had gone by and I asked her again how old she was and she said she would look it up. By the time we waited another hour, we were thrown off by the whole vibe and secrecy that we just wanted to leave. So I told her we weren't interested and started walking away but she wouldn't have that and literally tried to sell us this pup like she was a car! She told us they have financing options and all sorts of things trying to sell us on this dog. BUT for some reason she wouldn't tell me how old she was.. I just found it strange and uncomfortable and when we got home, I looked up reviews on this place and I am glad I didn't BUY from here. I would give zero stars if I was able. The woman who owns this store, Darlene John Patterson, is not trust worthy, very unprofessional, and should not be in business. I purchased a puppy from her and six days later the puppy was diagnosed with canine influenza. I called the store several times to let her know that my puppy was ill. She never returned my calls. My vet told me the puppy was highly contagious and will need to be in quarantine. The puppy's lungs were in very bad shape. She was hardly getting any air in. On the lease agreement that I signed with the store it states within 14 days after receipt of the puppy, if the puppy was found ill by a veterinarian, I should return the puppy back to the store. On the lease agreement it also states I will be refunded my vet bill and all payments made up to $1,000. I returned the puppy back to the store after numerous unreturned phone calls to the store. When I arrived at the store with the puppy, the young lady that works there was very rude and unprofessional. She never showed any sympathy for the very sick puppy. She told me I can not return the puppy. She told another worker, who was obviously upset by seeing the sick puppy, to take the puppy to the pound. I was shocked by this statement. Darlene called my cell phone by mistake trying to reach my vet. When I told her who I was she said okay and just hung up the phone. Now I had her personal cell number. God is good!. My husband called her on her cell an hour later. She told my husband she had no intentions of speaking with me. My husband told her how can you as a business woman say such a thing. She told my husband she will call him back the next day at 3:30 PM after my husband pinned her down for a time. Of course she never called the next day. I called her back at 5:00 PM on her cell and she told me to call the pound. I read to her what was written on my lease agreement and she hung up the phone on me. I wish I would have done my research before buying from this store. The place of business and this woman have so many negative reviews online. She has been investigated for buying puppies from puppy mills, selling sick puppies, and selling pure breed dogs who are not pure breed. I am now in the process of taking her to court. The groomers Agnes and Tiffany are excellent with Kennedy's cut. He's a 20 lbs yorkie with a bad attitude. I got my puppy late January. I was told he was caught up on vaccines and he only needed the rabies shot when he came of age and only needed it once EVER. The owner knew that I had never had a dog before and used that to her advantage. Obviously she's off her rocker because I'm smart enough to know that's not true, and also she told me to limit vaccines because they all have formaldehyde. I took my puppy to the vet recently, and apparently he's so behind on vaccinations that he has to start over. Now my dog will be traumatized and I'll have to spend even more money than anticipated. She lied to me about when my puppy had last had a bath too because he did not smell like he had had a bath the day before like she claimed. Just that made me worry about the treatment of the other puppies in the facility. She was also extremely condescending and rude to my mom, who was just trying to ask questions and become informed but was met with constant, "you aren't listening to me. Are you listening to me?" I wouldn't have even been a customer if I hadn't already gotten attached to my puppy the night before I came back for him. I love my dog, but I would never recommend this place to another person. You'd think for the amount of money we spent, the owner would have the decency to tell us the truth, but it's obvious she only cared about the profit and not the puppies and their well-being. I worked here my senior year of high school and throughout my summer after graduation up until the day before college. I have soo many horror stories from what the management has told me, previous workers, and first hand experience. Without getting into the details, I beg of you DO NOT GO THERE. The dogs are treated poorly, staff is all teenagers who most of the time would be by themselves working with 20-30 + dogs at a time. this means in order to do the job well you would have to feed, clean cages and dogs because they would lie in their own excrement, wash trays, put them down to "play" in cages smaller than the kennels they slept in as well as force medication down their throat through syringes, shoving pills, and injection, none of which are needed ninety percent of the time. read more

I did extensive research when I was looking to purchase a French Bulldog. I read the reviews on this business and avoided it due to the reviews for over a year. I decided to stop in here after visiting the animal shelter severa times and looking online for a French Bulldog. Almost every frenchie I found online at a reasonable price was a scam. Anyway, I stopped in here on a whim. There just so happened to be two French Bulldogs playing in one of the open pens. They were just as you'd expect frenchies to be, funny, quarky, and packed full of personality. I inquired about the price of the French Bulldogs and was surprised. They were priced significantly lower than what I was finding elsewhere. I spoke with the owner and she explained to me their financing options that were available as well. So the rep told me that they would try to reach out to retailers to see what is there return policy. The rep called me back and they said that they were not able to get hold of anyone at the store to discuss this manner. So now I am just playing the waiting the game. It sad that this company sells dogs dont have a return policy that can accommodate the buyer and the dog. Now I get that once the dog leaves the building that you are not sure what they can pick up but they make it seem as if they establishment is the cleanest. The same way I trust that this dog is up to date the same way you can take my word. Or they can have policy in place that they would need to get the dog checked to make sure it's in good health and you will charged a fee depending on when the dog was brought back. I have been trying to find a home for the dogs since that Saturday. SMH not good business practice. Its just sad I am out of a lot of money for an animal I cannot keep. Horrible place. Got scammed into getting a loan for a $3000+ big breed dog. Took us forever to pay it off as a very young couple that were expecting. Had to give him away because he was such a big breed and we couldn't train him in time for the baby to come. Years later tried to sell us another dog which we ended up getting and this dog was just not for us. She didn't tell us much about the breed and we obviously had a very young toddler at the time. Eventually we had to give that dog away because we did not have the right lifestyle for that dog. There was no way I could run this dog everyday with a toddler. After that experience years later we adopted a pure bred dog on Craigslist which fits perfectly with our family and ended up working out. He is the best dog we could have ever asked for. After reading the reviews; and having my eager kids beg us for a puppy I just had to find out what all the negative reviews were about. Upon entering like any small enclosed pet store the smell takes a minute to get use too...Some of the puppies were active but there were others who hardly moved. There was a puppy that my daughter wanted who kept pooping every few seconds it was almost like it was sick or had a bad tummy ache, then there was a bulldog I loved and not knowing too much too was quiet almost like he was sick but begging for someone to release him from his "cell"...Speaking with Darlene I just didn't get an authentic feel from her; she was persistent to keep advising us of their policy if we purchased a puppy (potty training, shots, that the puppies were heavily discounted and most importantly that they did not obtain the puppies from a puppy mill...).
