My older female cat started to get knots on her fur and she's an extremely anxious cat we couldn't help her or get the knots out all. We searched for weeks on a safe and caring place to take her because we are so scared of animal abuse or aggressive humans. We took a chance with this place, heads up you will need to sign up on the app first, have the rabies decal and vaccinations ready to upload on the app before you can get an appointment. Somehow the person who took care of our cat was able to shave her, wash her, trim nails. We had to be called to come get her earlier than expected because she was hyperventilating. This tells me they took her health seriously and the situation and they were successfully able to shave her all over and bathe her to get her to a better healthy situation. I hate that they had to go through that with my cat but very grateful for their help. The package came out to around 75-85$. read more

I called to book a grooming appointment for my dog who has anxiety, and instead of feeling supported, the conversation felt discouraging. I completely understand that some dogs need extra care, but it was made to seem like it was a huge issue that he might need assistance, as if dogs don't commonly have anxiety or past trauma. I was also repeatedly asked if I was sure I wanted to book, even after explaining multiple times that I just needed a simple wash and trim because grooming him at home has been difficult. It started to feel like I was being talked out of booking rather than helped. After that call, I ended up booking somewhere else that he's been to before, and they took him in with no hesitation and were very understanding about his anxiety. The difference in how I was treated was very clear. This review is only for the DIY dog washing experience. They had a Groupon for a DIY dog washing experience and us being new to the area decided to check it out & potentially inquire about the boarding for future reference. I'll start by when we walked in, we weren't acknowledged and we had to engage with the "receptionist". We told her what shampoo combo we wanted and that it was our first time. We also added on a nail cut/ file (which was an additional $20), our dogs nails were cut really short, one of them were clipped and it did not appear that any of them were rounded or filed after being cut. Moving along... Pros, they provide the shampoo/conditioner and also a cologne/spray, ear wipes, a blueberry facial mask, a comb, bristle brush, & a loofah for the bathing experience. They also have the towels, aprons, and ear muffs if needed. The blueberry facial mask is brighten so helps with eye stains! They have an array of products including a dog bakery section we would most likely come back to check out. Cons, the shampoo and conditioner are noticeably watered down, we received a different cologne than what was listed and weren't told why. We were never told what was it the kit (so we had to go up during the middle of the bath to find out what the blue soap & wipes were). The aprons had a really soiled smell to them and the towels could use a better cleaning. Sure, you could always bring your own ideas but that takes away from the whole point. I also asked for more information about the boarding when we were checking out and if I could see the boarding area which the receptionist told me that it was small and wasn't much to see. Have recommended them to all of my friends , 4 of them which still take their dogs grooming , but after this experience they will no longer take their pups their. One of my dog came back with a ring worm , as shown in the picture after the grooming service. My other dog was terrified and had one ear longer than the other. I've actually never left a negative review before. This incident happened a few months ago but my dog (the one this happened to) was diagnosed with cancer about a week after and the thought of dealing with this was put on the back burner. My dog was groomed here multiple times over a multi-year span without incident but the last time she visited was just so beyond "bad experience" that not only will I never bring her back, I've also had any friends/family I've suggested this place to, stop or avoid going. I had positive experience with front desk workers and Magda, who I believe to be the head groomer but was not in the shop the day of our incident. My dogs head was sliced into and a bald spot was left on it. Now, I've groomed my dog before and I understand that accidents happen. But these people will hide it, cover it up with bows and lie about it after hurting a pet. And that's where I cannot understand or just move on. My dog was groomed for the 4-5th time at swanky paws and sent home with me with bows in her hair but stressed out. When I paid for her the front desk said the groomer made a note that she was difficult and next time they would charge me extra if she acted "like that" -- mind you she's been here multiple times and I've never been warned or told she's acting up - she's well behaved in general and I've never had much an issue with her, much less when she's at the groomer. I didn't think too very much of it beyond it being a little odd until i got home - i live about 20 mins from the shop. When we get home I go to take her little bows off and notice a huge bald spot behind her ear. Then when I look closer, moving the longer hair on her head (they left it longer than they have previously) I notice it's also raw and cut/sliced (the picture.) At first I was irritated that no one mentioned this and sent an email back asking why I was charged full price and told I'd be charged more next time for "behavior" when they had not only *injured my dog* but left a bald spot, covered it up, and not told me... Magda, head groomer, calls me the next day and offers an apology but says she can't do anything and can't confirm or deny what happened when I ask why this happened because she "wasn't there" and "didnt see." Which I would TOTALLY understand if not for.... The owner calling me 3-4 days later and saying she'd "watched the video" (on cameras I wasn't told existed because if I'd known, why couldn't anyone have just answered me when I asked why happened?) and she "has some ideas to bounce around about what might have happened." We got my dogs cancer diagnosis a few days later and I never bothered calling her back partly because I have bigger things to worry about.. like cancer. And partly because they never apologized, never offered a refund, never even took responsibility-- I don't want ideas "bounced off me", I want an explanation, an apology, and a means of correcting the situation so it doesn't happen again. So yeah, they're great for a while, but don't go here if you want a groomer to be honest about what injuries might happen and at least let you know so you can treat them, or if you want your beloved pets groomed by someone who holds themselves accountable for what happens and doesn't try to ignore the blame and concern. Again. Not an unreasonable person. My dog is my child and yet i still understand that accidents happen. But if you injure my dog, at least tell me what happened, don't charge full price when you left a bald spot & injury and then tell me that for the first time in your grooming history with her she's "misbehaving" when you injured her in the first place, and DEFINITELY dont have your owner call and patronize me and beat around the bush with ways for it to not be an employees/businesses fault that this all happened when it absolutely is. They are a new business. Called early morning to see about getting my dog gizmo a grooming. We've moved here for about 4 months now and his hair was crazy long. I was kind of scared taking him to a new groomer. This place looked really nice from the outside. It's clean and the groomer seemed really nice. She took time to calm my dog down. She realized I was new to them. He had a few nats under his ears and legs, but not too bad. Price was fair..the place was pretty big..he was not scared walking in..he definitely was a little nervous, but seemed to calm down before I left. I dropped off at 12. Got the grooming and added the spa package which including brushing and nail rounding, not just cutting.. Got him back at 3. He seemed very happy, not scared, doesn't seem like he was affected at all. I don't see anything wrong with him he's acting like a normal day. I hate leaving my dog at groomers for half a day. Not knowing if he got water or a chance to go out. I will be returning. They were nice and my dog was happy. I don't like chains, so I'm glad to see this one worked out. I took my fur baby in for a Mini Groom - Tiny Dog Less than 15 lbs and a Teeth Brushing for the first time on Oct 3, 2019. After 4 years of professional grooming by other companies, my fur baby has never came home with any bruising or rashes, EVER! After her visit, she has almost a dozen bruises, some the size of a quarter and she's only a 7lb poodle! They did not handle my fur baby with any love or compassion and I am appalled that I paid my hard earn money for them to mistreat and injure her. As soon as I picked her up, I showed them the bruising and they claim it was a "brush rash" so I immediately took her to see the Veternarian who confirmed that she had suffered multiple bruises from the way she was roughly handled at this establishment. In addition, I requested a short face and feet on her cut, and they did not even do that correctly. Therefore, my fur baby was roughly handled and bruised, while I had to pay for this, all for nothing because after she recovers I still have to take her to get the cut that I initially requested. This is the worst experience ever and I had to spend the evening trying to help her through her pain...I'm still heartbroken about this traumatic experience. read more

I was a little skeptical when I first found this place on Amazon deal but decided to give a try. I am very particular about my babies :-) so I had a lot of questions. Everyone I talked to at this place was very professional and patient. I brought my bichonpoo for a hair cut on Saturday morning and she came out smelling good and Happy. What I really like about this place is that they did not cage my dog after grooming and let her play in the small day care area. The groom itself was OK. Their cuts are very simple cuts. I have no complaints here. The staff was unpleasant on checkout. They chastised me for not bringing in my dog sooner. I felt they tried to guilt trip me into additional services, such as a scheduled reminders for regular service. They never said I should give my dogs up to someone else, but came really close. I knew I'd never be back before I even left the lobby. My dogs are well cared for, but sometimes we have to prioritize dental surgeries and kidney troubles above hair. Finally, a year later, I get email from them welcoming me to their "online concierge service". With that reminder, I'm finally writing this review. read more

I really wish I could give 5 stars but due to the last couple of visits I'm going to have knock it down a few. My dog Baxter has been going to swanky paws for about a year (after a bad experience with another groomer). I was very happy with the grooms my dog received up untill the last two grooms. The first incident I had my mother pick bax up and when I got home his hair was choppy, uneven, and there were alot of areas cut that should not have been. I sent a message to the owners and they apologized immediately and offered free mini grooms to fix the problem. I really appreciated the customer service so I decided to just let his hair grow out and go back. The most recent time I picked him up paid and tipped thinking that everything looked good but unfortunately there was a chuck of his hair at his ear cut very short. They offered to fix it but there is no way to fix it without cutting more hair. It's unfortunate but we have to go somewhere else due to the lack of consistency. read more

The staff is nice and attentive and when I came to pick him up, he was playing in the daycare area in the front rather than locked up in a cage like many other groomers do with their dogs. My dog Whiskey loves this place. After many many groomer scares, we came across this location on google. The people are very nice and the services are decently rated. The only downside is you are not allowed to request a specific groomer, "all groomers are trained alike and are able to do all dogs." The services your pet will receive here are outstanding. I adopted a dog a little over a year ago that had been in and out of shelters for years due to mistreatment and some aggression toward large dogs as a result. I had tried him at another grooming location and the result were not favorable. Swanky Paws accepted him with open arms from day one and treated him with so much love and attention, his behavior has turned around. He is so well groomed, you can tell he feels good about himself. He's extremely proud of the little scarf he receives and is not pleased with me when it is removed. LOL His fur is so soft now and they have eliminated the shedding. This time I do agree with all the great reviews and I am so happy with the service there that I have to start yelping again! I took my miniature poodle to the Lilburn location off of HWY 29. I was very concerned about taking my poodle anywhere after the horrible experience at Value Vet. She had been very scared and nervous of strangers and scarred emotionally since then. Not only did Swanky Paws do an amazing job with her groom, they were kind and gentle with her. I have never seen her look so good and I've never seen a prettier poodle - she looks all Frenchie now! This is the most horrible place to bring your fur baby. To make this short, truly all they care about is how much money they can possibly get, and will trick you every way possible. You will likely be charged more than what is quoted. They care absolutely nothing for your pet. Mine was treated most cruelly, as I am sure are all the rest of the babies. When I arrived to pay, i could hear my sweet baby hollering in the back behind closed doors, and asked Barbara (the owner) to bring him on out as I pay, as he was obviously extremely distressed for some reason. She told me it was another dog. I told her I am sure I know my own dogs voice. She ignored my request, and told me I have separation anxiety (wow), and she proceeded to try to sell me products for doggie anxiety. I told her please let me just pay so I can have my dog. She was then obviously not happy that I wasn't purchasing anything extra, and took the longest time getting me checked out, which was purposeful. All the while I am hearing my darling baby in a state of panic behind the closed door in the back. These people should be investigated for animal cruelty. read more

I decided to give this place one last chance after many issues in the past: 1. Nails not getting clipped on two different occasions 2. The skirt and front leg of one of my dogs was trimmed on the right side and not on the left side 3. One of the ears not getting cleaned (I took my dog back the next day and the groomer reluctantly did it) Now, I totally regret having gone back. My dog looks terrible! The body was clipped nicely but the face was done horribly. It looks like the work of an amateur with scissors. I wish there was a place here to show the "before-after" photos. After my veterinarian was unable to keep a groomer consistently on-site, I had to find a place to keep my soon-to-be 13-year-old Standard Poodle looking good. We do not keep Athena in fancy poodle cuts, just basic puppy cuts with "Poodle face, feet, and ears," plus a longer top knot and a pouf tail. Athena is aging, and as such, tires easily, and has trouble standing for extended periods due to some soreness in her hips. The crew at Swanky Paws treats her gently, and even apologizes for taking a bit longer than usual, in order to give her rest breaks. All this makes for a very happy old gal. We have been to SP 3 times, and on this third visit, she was excited to arrive. That's an endorsement and a half. Athena also has an aversion to high-volume dryers.
