Couldn't taste the blackberry or hazelnut, just milk :') On the plus side, the food is very tasty and staff is always friendly. It is SUPER packed on weekends, you'd have to get there early to snag the seat you want. Also shoutout whoever is on aux, music is always good... unless you need to study or get work done (would choose another cafe to go if you can't lock in while feeling bass in your bones, it's so overstimulating)

I was too afraid to try any drinks with bitters (I hate how it tastes in cocktails) but I took a sip of The Snug and it tasted great, I would definitely try that next time. I had the B.B.L. latte which had banana syrup, it was more on the sweet side but not overly sweet (I would avoid it if you don't enjoy a sweet palate, try a latte with bitters instead!) It was something unique to try and I was happy with my choice. There was also plenty of seating which is always a huge plus in the winter in Rochester. We had no trouble getting a table. I should also note that there was a very limited food selection here -- about 3 baked goods offered. So if you're looking for food and coffee, I would recommend looking elsewhere. It was very sour and the aftertaste was something between strong chemicals and mildew. It was my choice to visit a different coffee shop since I don't live in rochester anymore and want to explore the other cafes rochester has to offer. Maybe some day I will be able to re-visit bookeater and try their coffee again. But until that day, I have a lot of other coffee shops to visit. When i got inside, there were so many more people. I never heard of those place, but i must be the only one. They filled my order fast and helped me with the extras i needed. I felt like the barista was a little rude, which I can consider could just be something personal that the barista was dealing with that day.
