My GF had me go pick up some coffee for the event she was putting together and when i got to Village Bakery, i just saw a non stop parade of people leaving. When i got inside, there were so many more people. I never heard of those place, but i must be the only one. They filled my order fast and helped me with the extras i needed. (Cups, napkins, whatever the thing you put around the cup so you can hold it is called) They were very friendly and helpful. The people on the inside all seemed happy. Visited this gem on a recent trip to the Rochester area, hoping to get a little work done over coffee and breakfast. First of all--they have an entire breakfast sandwich menu. Breakfast sandwiches are my favorite breakfast item and their menu looked amazing. I was this close *pinches fingers together* to ordering one but at the last moment decided for one of their healthier breakfast options--the oatmeal with fresh berries. I travel frequently and so healthy options are always welcome. The oatmeal was perfectly cooked and the berries were sweet and fresh. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. They have several sidewalk patio tables and inside they have large communal tables where you can easily sit, enjoy your coffee and bites, and get a little work done. With the communal table situation, might not be the best spot for a business meeting that you'd like privacy for but while I was there a book club was meeting as was another club, which was fun to see. Stopped in the morning with the intention of just getting a latte and ended up getting a full breakfast and dessert for later. This location is so clean, fresh and bright. There is an upper level for additional inside dining as well as a couple outdoor tables. They have online ordering, so you can come in and pick up your order on the to-go rack which looked really convenient. I had a French toast latte which is sweetened with maple syrup and is always a nice and well made option here. I saw the banana brulee steel cut oats and had to try it. You get to pick your milk option and they will place it on the side when taking to-go. The banana brulee did have some nice crispy brulee topping but I wish I had some additional brown sugar in the steel cut oats itself - if you like sweeter oatmeal then I would request brown sugar or maybe maple syrup on the side. I saw the funfetti sandwich cookie on my way in and was so excited! After I waited for my order and had eaten half the steel cut oats, I looked into my bag with the cookie and realized it was an oatmeal whoopie pie, not the funfetti cookie. I noted the mix-up to the staff and they quickly fixed the problem and let me keep the oatmeal whoopie pie as well. The funfetti cookie is very fun, almost a citrusy flavoring with rich buttercream - so good and enough to share (you won't want to). The oatmeal whoopie pie is the upper scale, way better version of a "Little Debbie" with a cream cheese like butter cream texture filling. They have breakfast and lunch options, multiple coffee and espresso drinks and smoothies. Obviously, they have so many bread and bakery items to choose from and all look like great options. Simple parking in the front. I really appreciated the kind staff and wonderful customer service. Look forward to stopping in again. read more

While we do find it to be a bit on the pricey side, the convenient location and menu options keep us coming back. When I wasn't allergic to avocados, the Micayla breakfast sandwich used to be my jam. Now, I tend to opt for a DIY sam with poached egg and gruyere and their delicious multigrain. The basil chicken salad sandwich for lunch will always and forever be one of my favorite sandwiches in the city. I tend to not grab their bakery item (break, pastries, or otherwise) but people RAVE about them and the success of that part of the business is clear through their expansion. My friend raved about how amazing Village Bakery & Cafe is so we decided to stop in this morning. From the baked goods to the breakfast I was blown away by this cute spot! We were a little confused by the ordering process and the craziness of a Sunday morning didn't help! We finally placed our orders and were informed it would be about 30 minutes before we got our food and drinks. We didn't mind and we were able to find seating inside so all was well there! I ordered a black iced tea and an avocado toast. I was a little disappointed as they gave me a black iced coffee, but I understand how my order could've easily been misread. The avocado toast was incredible; the bread was fantastic and they nailed this simple meal. I had a bite of my friend's strawberry macaron and it was so delicious that I decided to get an orange creamsicle one! I also got a cinnamon bun to-go and I'm excited to try it. My husband had ham and grilled cheese. He enjoyed the grilled cheese and ham. My french toast was okay. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again, but I'd skip the french toast and keep it simple by going for a pastry instead. A few things to note... It can get quite busy and a little tricky finding a seat. Stand in line to order and get notified via text to pickup when order is complete. Don't forget to grab your own silverware. What a lovely spot! Came here for breakfast because it was within walking distance of where we were staying. I had avocado toast (I know- super bougie but I liked it before it was cool!) . When I came back in to get a pastry an hour or so later (my companion had slept in and now needed food) the cashier remembered me and gave me my coffee for free (bc they do free refills). Many visits to this popular restaurant . First time ordering poached eggs on toast. Unable to eat. The water they were poached in must have hosted something else because the taste was very off. Sign says "clean cutlery" but it wasn't. I kept pulling out one fork after another - all were dirty. Same with knives. We visited Village Bakery while looking for a last-minute breakfast spot today and were incredibly impressed! We live so close that we cannot believe we have not visited this tasty gem before. The inside decor is trendy and attractive with ample seating upstairs and downstairs. The menu has a lot to choose from, including breakfast, brunch, or lunch items. My hot latte was perfect, the french toast was delicious, and the grilled cheese was easily the best grilled cheese sandwich we have ever tasted. The service was very reasonable given that the restaurant was moderately busy at the time (mid-morning on a Monday), and we waited 10 minutes or less for our food and drink.
