I'm posting this because the salon was not honest with me about what happened…read more At my dog's recent appointment, her coat was cut down to one inch in length, which is not appropriate for a long‑haired, double‑coated Great Pyrenees. She did need a sanitary trim, but there was absolutely no reason to cut her short all over her body. When I reached out to ask what happened, I was told this length was "based on a previous visit." This is false -- she has been groomed regularly for seven years and has never had her coat cut short. At drop‑off, my husband clearly stated that he did not want her cut too short because of her double coat. He did not request, approve, or suggest a one‑inch shave, and the cut she received does not match anything he pointed to on their chart. Despite that, she was shaved to one of the shortest lengths on their chart, and the salon later implied this was his choice. It was not. Our veterinarian has now advised us to limit her sun exposure due to how short her coat was cut. This has never been necessary before. When I reached out privately, the salon provided information that was not true. When I pointed out the discrepancy, they chose not to respond further. Because of the lack of honesty and the inappropriate cut, we will not be returning.

I was a bit nervous to see what groomers were out there, but I saw that this place had excellent reviews and in this case, it was an emergency I had found a tick on my dog and wanted to make sure that we took precautions got him groomed and treated. I called the puppy parlor and right away. They booked me for the first availability that they had the same day. It was a miracle and I was so grateful to be able to get a spot. They were very professional and thorough. They asked me questions about the dog. If I had any concerns, they listed the pricing over the phone of their services so I had an idea before walking in once I got off the phone they sent me a confirmation text and a form to fill out that was super easy to do any additional questions that I had the team was on and super quick to respond and pass along any messages I have for the groomer. When I got to the location to drop off Jack, they were very friendly super quick with checking us in the groomer came out and she was amazing. She made sure to introduce herself to Jack. She went over any concerns that I had or that she has regarding the grooming, great communication skills overall, and I'd love that she made sure that my dog felt safe with her before she took him. She even got to ground-level to introduce herself once I dropped off Jack. They let me know that they would call me and then I can go pick them up. They sent me a text once he was ready and I went to go pick up Jack once I got inside they immediately brought him out and he looked amazing. He was clean. He was happy which is overall the best thing that I can expect he didn't seem scared or skittish he seemed confident and a happy pup. The grooming came out. Perfect he smelled amazing his nails and everything was done perfect perfectly. I am thrilled to have found this place and will definitely be coming back for our regular grooming. I would give this zero stars if I could. I took my dog there a week ago because of a large growth…read moreon her foot. They gave me some steroids to help contain the growth and made me me an appointment to come back one week later I called the day before to make sure they received her blood work from her regular vet. They claim they didn't even have her on the schedule, but they would work her in. I get there for her procedure, they want me to sign something that tells me how much it's going to be. It's the same document I had before, except it was supposed to be half the price because I opted out of the bloodwork. My quote was originally $400 approximately, decreased down to $200 because of declining the bloodwork. However, they claim this was a mistake. And actually came back with a larger amount to pay. They were not going to honor the original quote that they gave me. The new quote was going to be anywhere from $370-$620. What a joke. I left. "Sorry" they say. That's the thing about saying sorry. Apparently these days it can get you out of anything.

Today I saw Dr. Dinges, Laurie(vet tech, who's been working with him for decades, and I met Tanner, a nice young assistant. Dr. D gets to the problem and doesn't overcharge to figure it out. She groomed our goldendoodle exactly how we wanted it and we love how fluffy he was after grooming. We asked for 1/2 inch all around and rounded face with short rounded ears! BEWARE! See attached photos/videos…read more We brought our beloved Lilly Peppercorn to Puppy's Playpen, providing clear reference photos of exactly how she should be styled. PP sliced her eyelid with scissors, botched her appearance, crushed her spirit, took zero accountability, showed zero compassion, and cancelled US as customers. During pick-up, our dog looked nothing like she was supposed to. Worse yet, we noticed that she was squinting in one eye and it was red and bloodshot. When we asked what happened, they casually dismissed it, saying, "She probably just had hair in her eye." After putting Lilly P in the car and looking at her some more, we decided my S/O would go back in and ask for a refund for the trim. They tried to tell my S/O that I specifically requested changes to her appearance when I dropped her off. In reality, I TEXTED the groomer (that morning during drop-off) a photo of how she is meant to look after a trim and asked them not to deviate from her style at all. While they begrudgingly approved a refund, the manager, Valerie, rather than taking any accountability or providing any degree of customer service, said that Puppy's Playpen would be cancelling us as customers. Once we got home, our poor girl was quivering, clearly shaken, and not acting like herself. She wouldn't play or engage with us at all, which is completely out of character as she is 100% play-driven. She just sat on the couch, shaking and squinting with one eye. Concerned, we took her to the vet, only to discover that her eyelid had been sliced through with scissors and that she would need anti-biotic / steroid eyedrops to heal up. When we called the shop about the issue, not only did they refuse to take accountability, but the same manager, Valerie, showed no compassion, empathy, or care AT ALL. Instead of offering any meaningful resolution, she coldly told us, that they would not reimburse vet bills, citing their terms of service applicable to everyone, and reminding us not to come in again. This entire experience has been heartbreaking, unacceptable, and frankly, jarring. We trusted Puppy's Playpen to treat and make our beloved dog look great, and they completely failed--not just in their work, but in their basic duties of care and decency. When we picked our dog up they had completely ignored our instructions. The groomer apologized and said she must have just been on "auto-pilot." It will now take several months for our dog's hair to grow back the way we want it. They offered no refund/credit. EDIT: After posting this review they reached out and gave us a refund.
