I have never experienced such blatant disrespect and hostility from a service professional in my life. From the moment I walked through the door, the cashier was antagonistic, aggressive, and completely unprovoked. Instead of a greeting, I was met with an immediate confrontation where she had the audacity to claim I was "being rude" before I had even finished my order. It was a bizarre and baseless power trip. Her customer service wasn't just poor--it was nonexistent. The Breaking Points: Hostile Environment: She created a conflict out of thin air and used it as an excuse to provide terrible service. Refusal of Refund: Despite the hostile interaction and the fact that I no longer felt comfortable eating there, she flatly refused to provide a refund for my transaction. Unwarranted Escalation: To top it all off, after being the primary aggressor, she told me to leave the restaurant. It is clear this employee has no interest in hospitality or basic human decency. Our baleada looked slightly deformed and the flour tortilla was thicker than what they tend to be but it was very soft and airy. Their bakery section, though nice, is not my favorite part of the place. It's not the worst I've had but I've had better pastries/baked goods elsewhere. Stuffed full of ingredients like, chicharon, queso, loroco, squash, and so many more! Prices are also really cheap for the amount of food you get. I was full with just 2 pupusas (and I have a big apetite!) I also tried the tamarindo drink, it was a bit on the sweet side but definitely refreshing. They also have a pastry case with items that are a dollar a piece. There are no directions on how to go about getting a pastry but all you do is grab one of the cafeteria trays and tongs (under the display) and load up on what you want. As you walk in the restaurant there is a sign that tells you what number to call for any complaints. I should have seen that as a red flag. The waitress that took my order was very rude and looked mad when I pronounced the name of the soup wrong. We waited about 45 minutes for the horrendous food. The pupusas had absolutely no flavor. Gross!! The soup just tasted like hot water, also no flavor. The empanadas and pasteles were ugly looking at first sight. Then when you tasted them they were terrible!!. I could tell the clerk starting her shift was having a bad day, so I stay quiet waiting for her to finish up my order. after looking for the second time into the refrigerator, she turn to me and told me that she doesn't have tomato source in a to go container, so I have to take my order without it. I ask why don't go and do it, that I could wait; she responded with a rude look, and attitude, that she won't do it until the kitchen closes. the look, attitude and posture of this girl have enough sour, hate and furious to take my hungry away and make me hate the food I just paid for. there was one family sitting waiting for their food; the look they gave was not good at all as well towards the treatment and the way this young girl behind the counter handled my order. This hidden gem in a hole in the wall. There is a grocery store, a bakery and a restaurant all wrapped in one! When you go in, you will find only Latinos which is good sign. The counter is at the back of the restaurant where you belly up to place your order. Much of the menu is in Spanish but wall has pictures of the food. The pupusas are handmade and filled with different delicious meats, beans, cheese and even an edible flower. They are served with a side of pickled vegetable. We tried a couple of special papusas that were custom made with different ingredients of our choosing and they were amazing. We had one with shrimp and chorizo (I know, weird mix, but it worked) and one with beans and ham. Both had cheese. Both were amazing! Wow. Had a chicharrones, jalapeno, and cheese pupusa. Was AMAZING. Came with a crunchy, salty slaw, and two salsas. What REALLY blew my socks off was the banana caramel bread pudding at $1.50 a slice. It was very custard like, full of huge banana chunks, and still barely warm from baking that same morning.
