Still, we all have to eat at some point. So when dinner rolled around on these two dates, I wanted something for Bunny and I. The Pupusa Mana is a quiet place, but can become crowed with 9 tables for 4 people and one table for 2. The bar I believe holds 8 more people. If you are into karaoke, It looks like this place can accommodate you and your party or parties. Speaking in the native language is preferred, but if you don't speak a word of Spanish, someone can speak in English to you. I like the cheese pupusas and my wife likes the Queso con loroco. Loroco is also known as Fernaldia pandurata. This food is popular in El Salvador and Guatemala; as well, as other places. I have had the loroco pupusas and it is good...no, great. Yet, I don't wish to over do it on a great thing. Anyhow, I will be sure to visit this place again. I know I didn't screw up ordering the Queso con loroco in Spanish second time around. Okay this place is definitely a hidden gem. It's in a pretty run down strip mall (what great, authentic restaurant isn't?!?!?) and it's somehow related to the food truck that's in the same parking lot (I have no idea why....). All I know is at night when I drive by, I see a line of people at the food truck. Either way, it sparked my curiosity and I had to get delivery to try out the restaurant. The papusas are INCREDIBLE. Food was good but service was poor. The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived but service was not great already. We always used pictures to ordered our food to minimize mistake. We ordered a Mar y Tierra (beef, salmon, shrimp) and received Carne Asada (beef only). Waitress did not explain what happened until we called them, and she told us it would be another 15min if we wanted the correct dish. I asked for additional cup of salsa and it took 20min to arrived. All I can say say about this place is YUM! I eat here a couple times a month from the food truck. I've only been inside a few times, but the service has always been top notch. English isn't their first language-so if you're a gringo like me, brush up on your Spanish first! The food is so darned good! Tacos, papusas, you name it! All grade-A awesome! so good! i'm so happy to have found an authentic spot with pupusas in the area. i will definitely order from here again and go in person soon as well. i had the queso pupusas this time. the plantains were cooked perfectly and the yucca was also great. there's a good portion of food for a great price. the shrimp quesadilla was a bit dry but the other food made up for that. i would probably try something else as my entree next time read more

The food here is phenomenal. I am Salvadoran and extremely picky about my pupusas (my moms homemade pupusas are always #1). So when I moved up to VA and found so many Salvadoran restaurants, I set off on a mission to find the best pupusas around. These won hand down. Also, their other dishes are delicious. We've tried tacos, chicarrones, and all of their soups. All amazing. My mom has stopped making pupusas bc these are so good. Highly recommend. That being said, I've only ever gotten takeout from here so I cannot comment as to their dine-in options. read more

I came in on a whim for papusas and found them to be very delicious. The server didn't speak much English, but we were able to get by with my Spanglish. It helps to know wht you want. The server was attentive, papusas delicious, and guacamole was delicious too. I will return for more. read more

I just found this gem recently. They have the best pupusas. I am in heaven. I ordered their combo #1 - pupusa, taco and burrito with rice and beans. I love trying new hole in the walls spots in the area and after a hell week at work I told my husband I wanted to treat myself to a carb bomb for dinner. We decided to try out Pupuseria Mana and order via Uber eats. Plus side is food got to us way faster than I expected, but sadly that was probably the only positive. The food I would probably give 3 stars...my husband described his burrito as "a mouthful of red onion" (I didn't try it but I will say it was huge). We tried two pupusas which were decent, the slaw was good (although I picked out some really large red onion slivers) but I can't say they're the best pupasas I've had in the area. The yucca was not good...it wasn't crispy at all. Maybe they bake it? It was super mushy and had zero salt or anything on it...I had to dip mine in ketchup to eat which was a weird combo to say the least. So why the two stars instead of three....I ordered fajitas and didn't get any tortillas. So bummed. My dinner went straight into the fridge and I will be buying tortillas at the store today so I can eat it. I did try some of the chicken/peppers and it was a little on the bland side so at least I can throw some seasoning on it when I reheat it today. Also the guac was that dark green-brown color....def not fresh. We don't gorge ourselves often so it was a real bummer to have a subpar experience. read more

I purchased a restaurant.com certificate to try this restaurant. We arrived and there was no one there, customers or employees. We grabbed menus and seated ourselves. Shortly thereafter, two other groups came in and seated themselves. When the server did appear from the back, we were last to be serviced. The other groups were native Salvadorians and we are native Virginians. The server didn't speak very much English. When I pulled out the certificate to let him know we had it, the server said they don't take those anymore, after I had just purchased it an hour earlier!!! He clearly didn't want us in the restaurant. It's a run-down, little restaurant in an old, run-down little strip mall. The menu is poorly written with poor grammar and spelling.
