There are two popuserias in the area and this one is hands down the best. Why? the popusas are fresher, they have a hot sauce that the others usually don't offer. I read the low reviews and I can tell you that I can see why people may complain about customer service, I really don't think they give "attitude" I got the vibe that they are busy and focused on making sure orders are right. The guy there is ALWAYS SUPER RUDE! I have had two incidents where one, I asked for an horchata he gave the option of Mexican or Salvadoran, I asked for Mexican. The pupusas were a bit too greasy, & not because of the cheese. Take it from a Salvi, pupusas are not meant to be made in oil. I've never understood where people got that idea. So glad to finally have a Pupuseria nearby that I don't have to travel outside of Compton to. Let's start out by saying that the pupusas have the perfect masa to stuffing ratio, no huge pieces of solely masa here. The pupusas are a nice size and aren't overly greasy. A plus, I warmed up the queso con lorco today for lunch and it still taste great. I also tried the yuca frita con chicharrón. It was good but I felt like it was missing some salt. It may have been my fault because I asked for everything together and I like mine really crunchy. So error on my part, I will definitely try it again with everything separately and put it together on my own. The piña empanada pan dulce was on point. read more
