I came here on a Saturday hoping for pupusas and I was very disappointed as I had a long piece of black hair in my food couldn't go back the same day for a remake and they wouldn't offer a refund. Came back in on Monday as they said they could remake the same order as I was disappointed about the hair and feel so disgusted I hope for some alternative food and they wouldn't accommodate or refund my money. I ate them at the restaurant, the restaurant had about one other party, so it was nice and quiet. As for the pupusas they felt a little too greasy. Pros: The food is always fresh and delicious. It is 100% authentic and high-quality Salvadoran. For that alone, I would rate 5 stars absolutely. I was craving for some pupusas one day and stumbled upon this place while searching Yelp. I was a little frustrated ordering over the phone as the lady on the phone couldn't hear and understand anything I was saying. I was persistent to try them out, so I ended ordering in person, and waited 30 minutes for them to prep my order. Gladly, I persevered despite the long wait 'coz their PUPUSAS are some of the bests I've had. I've been coming here since, and I've been lucky to have gotten someone more helpful on the phone. Despite the challenges of ordering here, their Pupusas are so good, and they make it fresh upon ordering. It comes out piping hot, and so delicious! Are you reading this because you are interested in their pupusas? Well if you are, CALL YOUR ORDER IN 20 mins before you want them. Apparently you can order online or call. There's located in a small plaza that has a liquor store, a burger joint, and a car body shop. Pupusas are very well worth the wait. They are STUFFED with the filling and the dough is so crisp on the outside and nice and soft. The loroco and queso is personally one of my favorites. The jalapeño and queso and the revuelta (pork beans and cheese) are good as well. Curtido (slaw) is heavenly. Only down side is for three pupusas a they gave me a small 3 oz salsa and a small bag of curtido. I asked to order an extra side of curtido but the lady said don't worry about it but lady I am going to worry about it. The curtido is fire and I will definitely check my order before I leave next time so I can get what I need of the curtido and the salsa. Highly recommend! So happy I paid the extra $3 for the medium pouch. Would consider paying the extra $5 for the big tub next time. The fried plantains are also delicious. Found this little gem on a yelp, when I was looking up pupusas. Read the reviews and informed y husband we had to go try it. We went around 5pm and it was packed. I would say they have about 10 tables for seating and they were all taken. They have an extensive menu so it took us a while to order. I got a jalapeño cheese and a chichiron papusa. My husband got the monday chicken special and I also got the beef soup. The order took about 30 minutes, which was okay bc I read in the reviews it is cook to order. We were in no rush. The ladies working there were very very nice, the establishment nice and clean. My Pupasa's were nice and hot, cheese everything very good. Just wish they had a spider hot sauce. Took them home with my spicy hot sauce and they were fire!!! My beef soup was good I would give it a 8 out of10 just a bit more flavor needed. Now my husband's Monday special!!!! Delicious!! It was amazing! I can't even describe the taste of it. It was well marinated and perfectly cooked! Definitely coming back for that dish. They have so many options you can go wrong. Ordered over 100 papusas for a work event and they were great to work with and food was amazing!

I am a regular customer and always order my regular plate, but I ordered something different this time. I noticed the plate was missing a potato, just a little piece. When I requested potato and asked the server, she returned to the kitchen and said it was only a little piece of potato. That is ridiculous, and I didn't think the cooks needed to say that. I was first introduced to pupusas when I worked in Anaheim several years ago. There are quite a few Pupuserias in that area, and I doubted that I'd ever find anything close to the likes of them in South OC. Boy, was I wrong! If you don't know what pupusas are, they are a traditional Salvadoran dish made of a thick, handmade corn tortilla that is usually filled with a blend of cheese, pork, refried beans, chicharron and other goodies. They are typically served with curtido (crunchy fermented cabbage) and a tomato salsa. If you're on a diet, head for the door because this would not be your food of choice. I happened to stumble upon El Paraiso Salvadorian in Lake Forest because I was at another business in the area. They are located in a very small shopping plaza on the corner of El Toro and Jeronimo. It's a small hole in the wall with limited parking. The menu is prominently displayed, front and center. It's a fast casual place where you order at the cashier and wait for your food. They have limited seating inside, but it seemed that most people got their food to go. I ordered the pork & cheese pupusa and the bean & cheese pupusa to go. While the pupusas may not look very big in my photo, they are definitely filling! Two pupusas and I was stuffed! Not gonna lie... they are pretty greasy, so be prepared for the drippings! Adding the curtido on top just adds to the overall flavor. The 2 pupusas that I ordered were $2.49 each, which is very reasonable. In addition to pupusas, they also offer burritos, tacos, soups, combo plates and other Salvadoriian favorites. If you haven't had a pupusa before and happen to be in South OC, this would be a legit place to try them! read more

I took a $25 loss. I should have walked away when I saw how empty the place was. I ordered the platanos con frijoles y crema ($12.50) and one puousa revuelta and a coffee (12.50) to dine there. I was served coffee in a Styrofoam cup I sat down to wait for the food and like 10 min later the cashier came up to me and told me the platanos were not good and that she'd refund me. Fair. The machine couldn't refund me on my apple pay so she tries various times to call the owner who never picked up. When the pupusa (de arroz) arrived, it was burned both sides and there was still uncooked masa around the edges. I went up to her and I was like hey, this is burned and not cooked. This is not good. She said "oh it's the masa" really? They bragged about the lady having 10 years experience in making pupusas and she doesn't realize her complaints is way too hot?
