Booking a table was super easy. They even call you personally to confirm your reservation. They asked if we were celebrating i replied we were, my birthday. When we arrived, the space is beautiful and spotless. Small but quaint. The flowers on the table had an elegant Happy Birthday pick. The server was so sweet and extremely patient. She recommended the horchata, i have NEVER had such a delicious horchata. We ordered choriqueso, guacamole, doraditas and texas smoked sausage. They came tostadas were good, the tortillas were delish but the sliced bread was amazing. I could not pick a favorite appetizer, they were all great! Our main courses were Zabuton and the flap meat. They came out sizzling and continued to do so. Our meals came with the option of mexican or house rice or beans. We had mexican and house rice. That house rice took me back to my childhood. The steaks were tasty as heck, served with grilled onions(i need to learn how to recreate them for the next carne asada). We also ordered Grilled veggies, which have options of broccoli, asparagus or stuffed peppers. We selected stuffed peppers, sooooo good. Their salsa! I almost forgot. They were fresh and authentic. At the end we shared a slice of carrot cake which was yummy. I will definitely be back. This place is a true gem.

We had dinner here for the first time. They have great food, drinks, service, and ambiance. I took pictures to share with friends. We are planning to return, soon.

This is a review following 3 separate visits, for different occasions. We have sat both indoor & outdoor. Have gone for date nights as well as with family for a birthday. The staff is amazing & extremely helpful & kind. The food is tasty & served with love and attention to detail. This is a nice place to celebrate a special occasion & vibes make it always feel special. The cocktails are wonderful & I had the most delicious non alcoholic horchata ever. This is a little gem in an unexpected place. To a previous poster, I would say communicate if you would like something spicier. This couldn't be a more accommodating restaurant. If sitting indoor & using a wheelchair, it is recommended to call ahead so they can adjust table on the end near the bar. But this was quickly accommodated for us when we did not call ahead. Give them a try!

Food was amazing! Great service and such a cozy but yet sophisticated space. The crustini with the truffle oil was delish.

Mexican restaurant catering to Midwest crowd. The elevator music did not fit the vibe for a restaurant that is located in a Fred Meyer Parking lot. We chose to eat out in the patio , and got a roadside concert. Definitely not a fault of the business, just a bad location I guess. The service was friendly, but slow with infrequent check in's. The "Spicy" mango margarita was just mango baby food( not spicy and so thick! ) Food was okay, but heat levels were set to "Minnesota mild." 3 stars--because I'm generous.

Great food, great ambiance. Atmosphere was romantic. Steam was juicy and delicious. Only gripe is my martini was brought in this wine glass and looked extremely sad. Why is this served in a glass like this???

Very overpriced, 3 tacos for $29... the service wasn't very good, it was slow. The horchata was the best thing on the menu, it was great. The steak queso was not good, the cheese was hard and the steak was chewy. The steak on our tacos and quesadilla was also very chewy! For our sides we got the corn, rice and potato. The potato was dry, the rice and corn were good. Overall, food wasn't great, especially the meat considering how expensive it was. Wouldn't recommend. Many other similar Mexican style steakhouses in the area that are MUCH MUCH better

No wait. Great staff. Food was deeeelish! Mexican and steakhouse. Quiet atmosphere. Perfect for tired travelers that just need to eat a great meal.

Pura Brasa is such a great addition to Sumner! Genuinely surprised to see a few negative reviews as the food and ambiance were great -- we love that they're family owned too! The food was soooo good, super flavorful, with great presentation too. We had the guacamole casero and esquite to start - both were great and they serve complimentary salsa and pickled onions to the table too. For entrees, we had fish tacos (came with 3), tacos de lengua served with bone marrow and roasted vegetables, and the chicken mole poblano. All excellent! Really enjoyed our cocktails too - we tried the kiwi smash (a little sweet), the Cazuelita, Cuba, and Mezcalita de Jamaica (made non-alcoholic). Highly recommend giving them a try and supporting this new business in town!

I highly recommend! We have a monthly ladies night out where we select a nice restaurant to dine at together. We usually go to Seattle, Bellevue or Tacoma for our fancy dinner night. This time, we decided to stay local and we're glad we did! While the venue is small, the hospitality and flavors are big! Since there were 6 of us dining, we made reservations a couple weeks in advance (I recommend reservations for a group more than 4). We had the largest table in the back. We ordered 3 appetizers, the Texas smoked sausage, chori-queso and the guacamole. All were delicious! The entrée and the drinks were just as amazing. The presentation of the food was top notch. If you are looking to dine out for a nice dinner, don't miss out on dining at Pura Brasa in Summer.

We were sat without a reservation, but one may be necessary in the future, just in case. The menu resembles many of the other like restaurants out there (Asadero, Vue, etc), with the prices being just as steep. The only difference here is that they offer a burger and a Philly cheese steak, which...random for a Mexican menu but I guess not for the area. Ambiance was very nice and the servers were too. Our only complaints are the salsas, really. The itty-bitty-committee called and they want their containers back! You get, at most, 2 teeny tablespoons of very mild salsa. My husband asked for something actually Mexican and got served with habanero sauce...again, disappointing but tracks for the area. I really liked the meat in the papa rellena, and while my vampiros were good, the meat on those was less tender and savory. The best part were the tortillas de maiz...thick, soft and tasty! I would recommend if you're in the area.

First time trying the brunch after many dinner visits…read more Started with cocktails and both were really good. The Greenhouse Bloody Mary was lighter and fresher than a typical Bloody, made with an in-house clarified celery juice base that gave it a really bright flavor. We also tried the Rhubarb Sunrise with rhubarb purée and vodka, simple, refreshing, and super easy to drink. We started with the crab cocktail: chilled crab leg meat over ice with lemon and cocktail sauce. Really fresh and simple in the best way. The salad ended up being one of our favorite things we ordered. Fresh greens, snap peas, pistachios, feta, mint, dill, and a grilled lemon vinaigrette. Super refreshing and kind of addictive. The server did a great job with the timing of the food which is always appreciated, so you don't feel rushed. We split the pork belly benedict and it was excellent, rich smoky pork belly, perfectly poached eggs, and a really solid hollandaise. The potatoes were crispy and nicely seasoned too. The French toast was ridiculously good. Thick-cut with a crunchy caramelized outside and soft custardy center, topped with strawberry-rhubarb and fresh whipped cream. Sweet but not too heavy because the rhubarb balanced everything out. By the time 11:00 rolled around the restaurant started to fill up, if you want to come when they open at 10 you could probably get in without a reservation or sit at the bar. The outdoor patio was also open and looked nice. Finished with a michelada made with pilsner, vodka, Bloody Mary mix, and a shrimp garnish. Awesome food and cocktails like always from Oxbow. Definitely coming back for brunch with family and friends.

The John Daly and Pink Guava Mojito were both deliciously refreshing, which felt a little inconsiderate because now I have to think about them again. This time, I got the Open-Faced Dungeness Crab Melt and PLEASE get this if you come here. This was THE BEST dish ever!!! I am very neurotic, and she was very patient, and even engaged in back and forth banter. She came to take our drink order, and if you know me, I always have a lot of complex requests. I started off ordering a boring vodka and soda, but then switched it up to cucumber vodka with muddled lime and mint with soda. Visibly and vocally unperturbed, she took my order along with my counterparts. The bartender whipped me up a couple of those bad boys and let me tell you, it was refreshment level: EXPERT. And props to the bartender, whom I thanked on the way out. After I drink order, I started ordering all sorts of ish. We had, an order of grilled sourdough, which was phenomenal and I'm actually going to start making that at home, if I ever get there, me and my (non-romantically involved, strictly platonic cuz I don't swing that way) partner both had the Cavatappi Ragu, and his wife had something with meatballs, that's all I can really remember. My wife said the chicken parmigiana was one of the best examples she's ever had. She usually isn't into red sauce that much but she loved it. Most of us had the salmon, which I think was cooked just right and was well presented. It's kind of a weird location but it works that it has a lot of parking. The inside's nice and clean, the people we engaged with there were pleasant/service was good. Cons: Main issue last night was how long it took to get our meal: I think it took over an hour. I don't fault a place for a single slow experience, and the waitress was apologetic about the delay, but for the level of establishment it is, it would've been nice for the table to have been given some free bread or something to munch on as an apology for the wait. The inside was pretty smoky when we got there, light beams cast. Not sure if smoke derived from cooking or the inside fireplace (insert?) but my wife's sensitive to the smoke, so her eyes were bothering her for a bit. She was talking about possibly needing to go outside when I think the AC kicked in and the air quality improved. Otherwise, I'd say the main con is it's on the pricey side. Like after tax the salmon is almost $50, no salad/side included, and it's not a large portion. It was, however, delicious.
