I was excited to try this place. It is a large restaurant with plenty of seats inside as well as outside. They have menus in Spanish and in English. I ordered the half/half combo which was half vegan sandwich on ciabatta bread and half a salad. I also ordered the soursop drink. The bread was old and very hard, so I did not eat it, the mushrooms on the sandwich were very bitter and I had to ask two times for my drink. The food was below my expectations & disappointing. It is a nice place but The wait time is horrible as far as the food it was never delivered to me and I was still billed for it- The could not make it right. My in laws loved their sushiomellete! They just were disappointed with the service as well. It's a good healthy food restaurant. They have a couple vegetarian vegan options. I like the soy or garbanzo burger here but they only serve it after 1pm. It's a big patty and comes with a big bun topped with lots of seeds not just sesame seeds. Also sweet potato fries all for less than $7. The dumb thing is their lunch starts at 1pm and won't make any exceptions to prepare the lunch items even if they have all the ingredients and it's the same cooks in the kitchen. Everywhere else around the world lunch starts between 10:30-11am for restaurants. They need to change that policy. I left one day and didn't come back cause at 12:40 they still didn't want to prepare the lunch stuff. I was going to come back but decided to go to ruta vegana downtown instead and was glad it did. It was all Vegan dishes and was cheaper and tastier. I'm not a fan of their breakfast menu. It's all eggs and omelettes and I'm vegetarian/vegan so it wasn't so pura vida on that day. They have a lot of smoothies and sandwiches, salads, and pizza too. Their Wifi is super fast here too. I always see some people doing work on their laptops. It's pura vida like Costa Rica. This is a great find in the golden zone. They use fresh organic vegetables, eggs and meats and offer gluten free options. They also have an entire menu of healthy smoothies, green shots and more. They have a wide variety type breakfast items, sandwiches and salads. For breakfast we chose the Mexican Benedict which consisted of perfect poached eggs served on ham, fresh perfectly crisp bacon on a blue corn tortilla with a special median sauce that perfectly complimented the dish. It was served with a nut bread on the side. The green omelet featured spinach and a variety of vegetables and your choice of panela or mozzarella cheese. A favorite was the whole grain waffle made with a hint of cinnamon and tipped with walnuts, a sliced almonds, fresh green apple, pear, your choice of fresh whipped cream or ice cream ..yes I said ice cream. I found this place on Yelp. I cannot rate the food because the service was so bad that I walked out. Employees need customer service training. I ordered a plate with scrambled eggs. I told the waitress 3 times and she even repeated the order. After waiting a long time for my food, the eggs were not scrambled. I politely told one of the employees to please make it correctly. The guy in the kitchen comes out upset because we returned the plate. He comes and fights with my entire family calling us liars. Another employee steps in and instead of just correcting the dish he tells me how the waitress is one of the best ones and there is no way she could have gotten it wrong. Takes 5 minutes to correct the dish instead of fighting with the customer. We are there to eat and paying for a service not to hear excuses. Never going there again. read more

I went there and was served tortilla soup that didn't have any of the ingredients in it that they claimed on the menu, and was just tomato juice and tortilla strips, and a quesadilla that was not cooked, and fell apart when I picked it up. Neither was edible. When I sent it back, the owner came out to yell at me and tell me that I was the first one to complain at the restaurant in 20 years, and that I didn't know what I was talking about. He yelled, and yelled, and yelled. He accused me of being a trouble maker. And never offered to change the food. So I just asked to pay for the drinks I had drank. He yelled at me that I was going to have to pay for everything, even the food I didn't eat. And I said "I shouldn't have to, it was not cooked, and I didn't eat it". He then threatened me, and called the police on me. He actually called the police on me. Then he threatened me in front of them, so they let me go. It was all very surreal, and traumatic. It was like a nightmare. But I am sure you want to hear the full story and all the details, so you know what actually happened. They didn't give me enough space to write it here. I sought this place out before even arriving to mazatlan. I have already returned twice throughout my stay. A million smoothie and juice options. Everything is made in house. Gluten free bread and organic egg options! I love vacation but my body suffers everytime, places like this help to keep a healthier diet while still enjoying the scenery. Ive been here many times, we stayed at the condos next door . Its got A/C and wifi so prices are a little more than elsewhere. They specializes in juices , fresh squeezed but charges over twice a much as the small stands, They have burgers and sandwiches and their good. Ive had them on other occasions but this morning I went for eggs benny. I wasn't really expecting chef made hollandaise so when it arrived and wasn't I wasn't disappointed. . The rest of the plate looked amazing with fresh fruit and salad and a whole bowl of ripping hot pickles. It looked to have some potential but unfortunately the eggs were cooked hard , the sauce tasted like package sauce and the worst part was the bacon was the saltiest thing I have ever eaten and I eat anchovies! Man it was bad, I have never discarded bacon. I feel ashamed. The coffee is alright not good, If you need wifi and a/c then go to ricos the coffee and food are better and they have both. First, let's start with the positive. The concept of healthy juices and smoothies is a great one. This place does not disappoint. Their food is delicious. My problem is with their service. I do not want to stand around waiting for a hostess to acknowledge my presence, when we were finally acknowledged, we were told there would be a 15 minute wait to be seated. Mind you, there were about 6 empty tables. I'm not sure why you wouldn't just seat the customer and then they can wait for a server to come over if it's very busy. I much rather wait for a server sitting down than standing! Everyone seems to be walking around hastily but without any direction. And if Puravida gets busy, forget it, plan on waiting a while for your order. The main reason I will not be returning to puruvida is because of an awful experience. I ordered a smoothie with my breakfast. Upon the server bringing me my smoothie I found a 8-inch black hair in my drink. Luckily i stirred the smoothie with my straw first. The long hair is wrapped around my straw, I call the server over to show her the hair, she nods and walks away - yes, I do speak Spanish. So, I show the hair to another server, he makes a face of disgust and I ask him to get the manager. No one ever returned to address the situation. Therefore, my family and I left.
