Clam chowder

The food is excellent especially the clam chowder. Service is excellent and very customer oriented. The old school farm house feel is great. The best for a calming environment.

Tasty food and attentive service. I enjoyed my lunch with a friend, my fish sandwich, and the farmhouse setting. I found the price/value proposition average.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Sitting outside on the porch was so nice, especially with the great weather and the service was also great. We started with the oysters and they were all very fresh, our favorites were the east coast Beau soleil. My husband got the cod and loved it and I got the tuna burger which was amazing. It wasn't chopped tuna but rather a whole piece of tuna. I also got the polenta fries on the side and they were amazing. We then shared the white chocolate bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream and peach crisp and didn't like either of them. We ended up leaving them untouched after a couple of bites. Overall, we would come back for the food, but wouldn't get the dessert again.

This place is great and I usually prefer to sit at the bar for more of an experience. Faves include oysters and the fried fish sandwich. Cocktails are great, bartenders are personable, and they always have a nice selection of beers on tap. It's like walking into an old farmhouse, and you can even see the garden where they grow everything. I've never actually stopped into the farm store attached, but maybe next time.

So happy to discover this place with friends who live nearby and love it. Now we do too. Fish-centric menu, and the crispy calamari was delicious. But the star appetizer was a (huge), sweet, smokey, tender short rib. Get it! Main course winners were salmon, tuna (get it rare), and fried chicken. Large portions so we have some leftover for lunch tomorrow. Gracious service. Friendly, busy vibe of local foodies. We'll be back!

The food was delicious, restaurant charming. You must make a reservation. I had scallop salad, fresh and delicious. My friend said her Pemaquid oysters were fresh and excellent

Met friends here for a weekend lunch. Kind of tight seating inside. Was a bit sorry we didn't reserve for outside because it was a beautiful day. Appetizers - shrimp cocktail (3 jumbo), crispy calamari which was excellent. A bit atypical of the standard Italian restaurant. Southern fried chicken was a bit bland. Had a thick crunchy coating. Halibut was tasty. Scallop salad (had the dinner portion which was still small) The scallops were amazing. There were all kinds of surprises in that dish. Something that looked like purple grapes were pickled green tomatoes. If I was a meat eater I would have gotten the steak salad which looked incredible with mouth watering rare slices. Service was excellent. Plenty of parking. Nice farm store

Purdys Farmer & the Fish has been in my periphery for a while; while it was never on the front burner for me, I had always heard good things about it and one of my colleagues in particular would always laud it. My cousins and I were looking for a place to eat and catch up, and since Purdys was centrally located for all of us, we decided to check Farmer and Fish out for dinner. PF&F very much epitomizes the whole farm-to-table concept (though it did not originate it). In addition to the property here in Purdys, they also run a similar restaurant in Tarrytown (called Hudson Farmer & the Fish). In addition to the actual restaurant, the property also has a farm as well as a farm shop. The restaurant itself is in what looks like a farm house - it's cute on the exterior with a front porch for outdoor seating. The inside is smaller than I thought - it's lively and a little tight with a good amount of tables packed in there as well as a bar. The decor is rustic with dark wood tones cast against white stone tabletops. Judging by the name, I was expecting a good selection of seafood on the menu. I found that, however it leaned heavier on fish than I had initially thought; non-seafood dishes were limited. The menu has a good selection of dishes broken down by apps, salads, mains, sandwiches (called "fries on the side"), raw bar selection, and sides. We started with drinks - I went with their version of a Moscow Mule which was smooth and refreshing. For my app I went with the crab cake; this was really good - not overly bready with lots of crab. It was paired with a tasty aioli and these thin crispy noodles to add texture. For my main I went with the lemon sole; again, this was super tasty - the fish was flaky and came with a corn-parmesan risotto that had a lot of flavor. We also decided to get two sides to share - polenta fries and shrimp fried rice. The fries were good - they kept their shape and came with a tasty dipping sauce. The rice was great - it was less rice per se and more shrimp and broccoli, but I wasn't complaining; it also had a lot of flavor. We opted for dessert - I got the key lime bar which was the perfect size and a good finisher to the meal. Service was spotty; everyone was friendly, however not all of the apps were served at the same time, and there was a delay in one of the sides coming out with our mains. That's a pet peeve of mine, so IMO they can tighten it up a bit in that department. Service was also a little slower than I'm used to, but I'm not sure if that was a one-off when I was there or just how the restaurant operates. Despite this, I had a good time at PF&F; the food is definitely the crown jewel here - it was all fresh and high quality with great flavor. This is definitely a highlight in Northern Westchester, and I would return to explore more of their menu.

Blazers is a 10/10 for both food and drink…read more There are bars and pubs all over the world. Most likely of them litter the earth like wrappers from spent candy bars, a constant reminder of good times gone by. And then you get The Blazer. It is one of those places that shouldn't be there but it is and we are all the better for it. A low ceiling, low lights, jubilant conversation in the background all make for a snug setting. The bar is a seen out of Cheers with the conversation between business man and blue collar foreman flowing as quickly and easily as the beer from the tap. The drinks are cold and served quickly with a smile but it's the food that takes the crown. The menu is small but everything is cooked and presented perfectly. In all the years God has blessed me with life I have never had a better chicken wing. The Blazer traditional wing is served dry with limited spice but full flavored and from a temperature standpoint hotter than the devil's pitchfork. They were perfectly cooked, completely rendered, flavorful gifts of gastronomic joy. The burgers, cooked in a broiler style format, were fresh, perfectly cooked, delicious and of ample portion. The chicken fingers, which were each one a meal, served red hot, perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside and tender within. The chili cheese dog was everything it should be and the French fries, which are a traditional steak fry cut, were incredibly crunchy on the outside and soft and tender within. Every bar and pub owner and chef should come here. This is the superlative example of a simple menu, cooked perfectly and served quickly with a smile. It is obvious that the setting, service and menu gets them to come back again and again across generations from miles and miles around.

We came as we understood the wings were the best in Westchester County... After trying two varieties, and being on a perennial wing trail chase for the last four years... I find that title difficult to believe. Wings were meaty, cooked correctly, and came well appointed with blue cheese and celery. Plus, I'm a sucker for wing establishments that provide the wooden bowl for bones. I love that. Otherwise, I found the wings lightly sauced, and kind of dry... We tried the blazers traditional, which are fried, sauce, then refried... They needed one more dunk in sauce to be top-notch. Our second order was their teriyaki wings... much more palatable... But we're still lacking. And I'm not a huge fan of wings that are not sauced in a hot sauce base. The opportunity to add a side of wasabi sauce to any wings was a welcome addition... As we needed the moisture. We did not try any other menu items, but the pub food looked delicious... And our server was fantastic. I do look forward to going back and trying to order things slightly differently... I'll chalk this first experience up on me not really strategically placing my order or knowing how to maximize the potential of a really great place. I know next time will be better.

My husband and one of the other couple each had a glass of wine. The other half of that couple and I shared a Guinness ( he was driving, and I'm just a lightweight drinker!) - a full pint was served (draught, perfect pour) with an extra glass as requested and I did a good job pouring without spilling any! The 4 of us shared a goat cheese flatbread to start. It came cut into 4 pieces, helpfully, but they were quite unevenly split, fwiw. We were fine, but got a chuckle out of 1 large piece and one really small piece, with the other two more or less the same. Anyway, it was tasty. One had the brisket sandwich and he was very pleased with it. His wife had a veggie burger with tater tot's; I had to taste one (shades of my much younger years!), still perfectly salty and crunchy. My husband had the veggie burger with sweet potato fries, and of course I snatched a couple of those as well, yum! I really liked my shrimp tacos; I thought each one (2 to the serving) had ample shrimp well-seasoned. I chose a side salad instead of fries and it was a good-size portion with dressing on the side as requested. Service was very good, food and atmosphere lovely. Unexpectedly good for what I was expecting from a pub in a suburb - exurb? - far from home. It was plenty crowded on that random Tuesday, so obviously folks in the area know it.

My food was ok. I still rate four stars for a few reasons. One, I've only been to this place…read moreonce, and I only ordered a breakfast burrito. Two, I've only visited once. Three, they seem to have a lot more to offer, so I can't be too harsh on a one time visit. Again, got the breakfast burrito, with eggs, bacon, avocado, tomato, and pepper jack cheese. I was surprised at the lack of seasoning and how I couldn't really taste the cheese. I say this because I am a palm colored person and I think the proprietors may be Mexican, so I expected a little more pizazz (please call me in if this is being insensitive). Maybe they are just trying to accommodate the locals or be neutral. The folks working (possibly the owners?) are super nice. Lots of drink options (juices, water, sparkling water). Also sells coffee, tea. They also sell a lot of sauces, including hot sauces, pasta sauces, various condiments. The menu seems pretty broad: Brekkie: BEC, omelets, burritos, lox bagels, steak and egg wrap. Lunch/dinner: skirt steak sandwich, Italian chicken cutlet, grilled chicken, burgers. Salads and wraps to include caesar, greek, house, buffalo chicken, etc. They also have quesadillas, tacos, burritos, wings, nachos, empanadas. The shop is bright, open, clean. Definitely seems like a community spot. I am sure they are five stars. My particular visit was a one off. Or maybe it's a me thing. But if you're ever in this tiny little hamlet, stop off at Milton's and give them a try.
