This is usually a go to place for me. I love it here. However, i am extremely disappointed. I called last week to see if they would take a reservation for new years eve. They told me they couldn't for less than 6 people but if i got there by 6 i should be fine. No worries about the reservation, but when i got there on NYE....THEY WERE CLOSED!!! Needless to say this put a huge damper on the evening. Had i known they would be closed i would have made arrangements to go somewhere else. This is a nice looking casual bar restuarant with a seemingly big following based on the size of the crowd, but the there were too many misses. The fried chicken sandwich was soggy and its brioche bun fell apart. The steak was overcooked and the char/burn permeated the entire piece of meat. Entrees were not served at the same time and staff, while pleasant, was inattentive. read more

Crab cake and clams for app was really good, the crab is probably my favorite thing there. Also had the lobster roll, it was really good just wish it had less black pepper. I liked the local hardscrabble apple cider too! I think bartender uses way too much ice in drinks but that can be easily fixed. read more

oh my god , the staff at this establishment has made this one of the worst experiences ever. I went to enjoy my food with my family and was instead met with rude stares and judgmental attitude. my daughter is allergic to a lot of foods (nuts, shellfish, and dairy) so we like to make sure the meal can properly fit her dietary restrictions. I asked our server a lot of questions about what the kitchen's capabilities are (because it was my first time dining there) and my server proceeded to tell me to "shut up". I consider myself to be an easy going person but being insulted like this will not roll off my back. I will NEVER be going back there. I met my sister here for a late lunch and ended up staying for about 3 hours. I had a hard time finding it and wasn't expecting much from this cute place by the train station. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much bigger it was inside and try the wonderful appetizers and entrees they serve. We opted to try their summer pale ale, and it was perfect with our meals. Our server was very attentive and never bothered us, but made sure we had everything we needed. I'm not in the area ever and only went there to meet my sister for a long-overdue lunch, but I would be there more often if I lived nearby! read more

When I lived up in Putnam we used to go to croton creek all the time, we remembered Chris from Sitting at the bar all the time, really nice guy. Happy to see him chasin the dream. That said, I feel he did a good job keeping a lot of the good that Croton had. But made key improvements that were needed. When it's freezing cold out, the short rib pot pie is perfect, really an awesome appetizer in the winter. The Mac and cheese was strong, to quite strong. But the buffalo wings with lemon pepper stuff on them were awesome. Love what they have done with the place. Next time we are back up here We will be back. read more

Hidden gem! Passing through on a road-trip and stopped based on the Yelp reviews. We had the Creek Sampler with the Spicy Honey Garlic wings, the Kobe Beef Creek Burger and Fries, the Honey Goat Cheese Salad and the kids got the Brioche French Toast with strawberries. Everything was delicious!!! I loved the salad so much that I ordered a second one to go! The service was excellent and the owner was great to chat with. Wish we lived closer but will be sure to stop in on our next road-trip! read more

What a nice surprise. This place is right next to the metro north station. We were up at an Apple picking place and heading back to the city. It being so hot we were just looking to escape the heat before the train back. We lucked out. The food was all good - lobster roll , crab cake , fries and Brussels sprouts. I also had a nice white wine. The owner was very friendly as was his brother. Really wish it was a local bar as I'd be there all the time. Hope to see you all again soon. I got the shrimp scampi, and it came with exactly 6 tiny disgusting (overcooked to the point of being almost inedible) shrimp and some extremely basic pasta in very oily wine sauce--for $24. My boyfriend's burger was okay but he found the raw jalapenos to be an odd choice. Drinks were good, and the service was great. The food, however--BLECH and extremely overpriced. We had been here several times in the past when it was Croton Creek Steakhouse and we ventured here on 11/23 to celebrate my birthday as I wanted to try out The Creek. The only downside was they ran out of ribs, so my Dad had to quickly come up with a new entree choice. The portions on everything were more than generous and I came away with plenty of leftovers. Service was fine, maybe a little slow, but no glaring issues. Even though there was a lively bar crowd and live music up front, we never heard it from the dining area which was great. I actually didn't know there was even live music happening until I got up to use the restroom. The inside has not really changed from when it was CC Steakhouse and the menu is very similar as well. Easily the worst meal I have had in a very long time The food was boring at best, and poorly prepared. Walking past the kitchen, which was emitting extremely unpleasant odors (along with a lot of yelling), we were tempted to leave.
