When i said that I didn't understand the process and wanted to know more, the information given to me was not detailed. The owner did not wear a mask. She took personal phone calls on speakerphone during the treatment. When dealing with fat reduction procedures, you should expect that your clients might have insecurities and/or body image issues and be more sensitive to that. The owners of the Bodhisattva Tea Spa, Jerome and Yolanda are so welcoming and friendly! I posted pictures of the spa after taking a personal tour with Yolanda. It looks like I've found my spa joint! I had an hour long massage with Ty and it was wonderful as usual! The room is nice and dark with a comfortable temperature. I enjoy the soothing music. The spa is upstairs and located right across from lakeside mall next to the Capital One. The tea spa has an array of loose teas to choose from and they have beautiful tea sets as well. I'm impressed that they have the mortar and pestle to grind your teas. They had a tea ceremony a few weeks back. There are multiple rooms in the tea spa. There is an aesthetician room which helps when I need my brows and lip waxed! They also have a room with a dry sauna. In addition, they have a multi-purpose room where they have yoga classes with a suggested donation from $5-10. They also have tai chi classes and do energy work. Occasionally, they'll have these contests for their followers. Last month, they held a contest for a free Pinda Swedana session, and I won!! In case, you don't know what that is, "Pinda Swedana is a process by which the whole body is made to perspire. This is done by applying hot boluses containing various types of fresh plants and other herbal ingredients gently all over the body for 45 minutes. It is a swedana (fomentation) therapy commonly used for pain relief and reducing inflammation." I had also bought a Groupon several weeks ago so called them to make both appointments. Yolanda was very pleasant and friendly with my schedulings. She was still that way when I had to reschedule! (Seriously, love these people.) And she ended up being my Pinda Swedana masseuse/applier. It was an 30 min session where you lay on a table while she rubs these herb-infused bags around your body. I loved it and thought it was very soothing. I could feel it circulating my juices and definitely felt like a new person when she was done. Plus all the smells were so nice, I was tempted to grab the bundles to taste the fresh rosemary, cloves and other ingredients she had in there. Yolanda said everything was food-grade and was a good primer for my massage. I agreed and impatiently waited for that session to begin. (She suggested scheduling it for a different day to allow my body to adjust to the Pina Swedana treatment. The next day, I was happy I took her advice.) Sunday finally arrived, and my body couldn't be happier. It was aching from head to toe. So I sank into the comfy table to do my 90 min. massage. The masseuse was AMAZING!! She really took the time to find out where my aches were pooled and focused on those specific areas. She was on my shoulders for a good 30 mins. when the aches moved down my body and settled into my mid-back. She rubbed and stretched that section out for a good 40 mins when the pain shifted lower. All the while, I was feeling the blood rushing back into those cramped super tight muscles. When she was finally done with me, I felt so drained but relaxed. It was obvious my body really needed it. Immediately I felt the effects of keeping all that trapped toxins in my body. It kicked into detox mode, and I promised myself I would never let it get that bad again. I wanted to give them my credit card so that they would charge me monthly and they mentioned that they work with a provider named Cherry and I should go through them. The total amount was to be paid through Cherry in 6 months 1st payment starting in December in the amount of $771.43 and monthly thereafter with no interest if paid within 6 months. What I did not know was that Cherry would pay Saintly Skin the whole amount upfront. I needed to move back to CA and let Shontell, the receptionist and Penny, the practitioner know about this two months ahead. Until then I had received 2 full body and 1 partial treatment yet the service provider and Cherry have kept charging me even though I wasn't receiving any treatment. When I mentioned this to Shontell, she told me that I needed to contact Cherry directly to resolve the issue which I had done exactly what she said. However, they told me that they can not do anything on their end and it must be resolved by Saintly Skin. I explained to Shontell the situation and she told me that she would let Kevin, the manager know. I've called numerous times, left messages but no response. It took him about 6 weeks to respond saying that they don't have any refunds for whatever reason whether used or not and I should have paid more attention when I filled out and signed the forms. He even sent me a photo of the posted sign on a piece of paper in the waiting room saying that there were no refunds which I neither saw nor paid attention to. When I asked why so late she said that oh that's how the treatment works because of the hair cycle. But he was determined to eat the Bread of Shame, for unearned money his business was taking from me. What he doesn't realize is that there's something bigger than all of us. Finally after waiting about 15 minutes someone came out (the owner) and apologized because they canceled my appointment because they had the wrong phone number in their system and canceled because they couldn't confirm the appointment. This is annoying because they obviously had my phone number correct the first time if they were able to call me back to schedule the appointment in the first place. Anyways, the owner was REALLY nice and squeezed me in the next day. I didn't mind coming back and appreciated that she was able to accommodate me. I came back the next day and finally received my massage however she only gave me 35 minutes for a 1 hour massage! I massage was definitely 11:30-12:30 and my massage was finished by 12:10 and we didn't even start on time. I had to wait a bit.
