But Rachel was very nice and gave great instructions for a beginner. The class was challenging but not impossible with a lot of alternate posses for a non flexible, no balance, and out of shape person. Instead of what I thought would be gongs and elevator music in the background, I was serenely lured into a zen like state by the boss, u2, and other classics. I didn't levitate but I'm thinking maybe next time. If you are looking for a fun class, with an instructor truly looking to help people I recommend this class. I am not really sure how these classes are suppose to go but I had fun and can definitely feel it the next day.

I explored my options and realized that I would like something between one on one training sessions and large group classes. I had a friend refer me over to Functional Fitness and I have been extremely please with it ever since day one (mind you I'm only a few weeks in). The classes I've taken range from small to medium sized, so it's still personal enough that Jermail or Justin are able to correct you if you are making a mistake and notice improvements. It's a great 45 minute workout and I would recommend it to anyone. If I could tell anyone looking into this gym one thing, it would be that when you go to drive and find it, it's in the back of the Warren Plaza, next to Anytime Fitness. There is a metal door with a magnet/sign on it. Hard to miss the first time you go.

I love that North Olmsted offers 5:00 am, 5 days a week, that's a plus, it really is. I love Keeley Tuesday/Thursday, she is full of life with the perfect dry humor, coach Ryan is great too. The 5:00 crew is consistent, we have a great routine, 2 Gs are a plus early in the morning because I really dislike the rower. The monthly membership fee is comparable to other gyms in the area, but the cancellation fees are ridiculous, a grace period would be nice once in a while when members miss an alarm. I know it may read like a big ol complaint, Orange Theory is great, classes are high tempo with a mix of hit and cardio with weights mixed in, repeat classes are mixed in later in the month. You get the option to visit more than just your home studio. Rocky River is booming, they just got a ridiculously fabulous upgrade, I typically take their Saturday 6:45 am class. I have visited studios in DC and Miami too, but they charge additional fees when you visit what they classify as elite studios, seriously sane studio different city.

I have been dying to try reformer Pilates and this class made me wish I had started sooner! This studio is so new, very clean, and just very pretty!! Before we started the instructor did a little crash course on what the reformer was and parts we'll be using and needed to know! I took a classic Pilates class (again because it was my first time) - perfect for a beginner, I could follow and understand what was happening and what to do, yet it was still challenging enough to where I felt a pretty good workout!! (Don't forget your grippy socks!!! If you do though, they sell some in store!!) They do have their prices posted on their app, but here are a few: - First timer $35 for 2 classes - Drop in class $35 Monthly Memberships: - $115 for 4 classes - $164 for 6 classes - $215 for 8 classes - $255 for 10 classes - $355 for 31classes (Basically the more you buy the cheaper the classes are!!) Located in the Van Aken district, it's really an idyllic location. After class, you can grab a healthy bite at the neighboring Nature's Oasis and stroll the area to shop. Bonus: FREE garage parking! As I've stated in my Woodmere GrooveRyde review, SO many fitness studios claim inclusiveness but don't always practice it. GrooveRyde does. When you have a physical limitation, it's a giant leap to try something new and you almost always are disappointed. After trying my first class with Zosimo in Woodmere (and having him be respectful and kind towards limitations) I felt confident to come back and try Shaker Heights. I did a class with Jessica and she was beyond helpful. I arrived early and she was sweet enough to help me set up my bike and answer several questions. She was a great instructor and really loves what she does! Overall, the facility is generally bigger and sparklier because it's so new! They have a great gym, several exercise rooms and lockers to store your things. You'll love GrooveRyde! Don't be scared of cycling. They get it and respect your journey!

I can only vouch for the 50 minute cycling classes but reckon I may try yoga or other class offerings soon. The cycling room is a smidge tight (you can/will definitely hit whoever is next to you when extending your arms on the bike so be careful) but still comfortable. I love that the lighting is kept dim and the wall fans are strategically placed in all four corners. I also appreciate that you get to choose your bike of choice when signing up for your class online. The bike assignments are also posted on the class door so there shouldn't be any confusion upon arriving. Towels are provided (another amen!) which is incredibly helpful because you WILL SWEAT. There are also lots of lockers and cubbies to store your crap while you're cycling your heart out. Highly recommend you give this great workout studio a try.
