I have mostly done pilates on a reformer, but Rachel mostly provides mat work. I decided to just go with it and signed up for a package. I attend a session once a week. It has now been about 9 months. I have seen a tremendous positive change in my body since working with her. I am stronger, more balanced, and am more aware of checking in with myself daily to make sure I am engaging my core and watching my body position. Think squats with 2 lb dumbbells, high knees in place to warm up, etc. I was really expecting reformer Pilates similar to competitors in the area like Cut and Flow or Solidcore but that is not what this is. No coaching around traditional Pilates timing, VERY minimal core work (think 5% of the class). The playlists were also similar to that in a box gym with no sense of curation based on type of exercise. If this was the case and these were cheaper classes I would understand and feel like I'm getting what I'm paying for but unfortunately it is $39/class so just as expensive as competitors but the experience just isn't there. Giving 2 stars because the studio is very clean and a great location but there isn't even really a great studio "vibe" no high energy good morning or kudos- it was just very mediocre.
