I've been coming to The Mat about five days a week for the last 2 years. One of the things I…read moreappreciate most is the variety of classes they offer. Whether you're looking for weighted or non-weighted workouts, heated or non-heated classes, there's something for everyone and every fitness level. The instructors are all incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and supportive. They consistently encourage everyone to work at their own pace, making the studio feel comfortable whether you're brand new or have been practicing for years. There's never any pressure to keep up with anyone else, just a positive environment that helps you improve over time. If you're looking for a studio with great instructors, diverse class options, and an encouraging community, I highly recommend checking out The Mat.

I have been coming to The Mat since June of 2025, and I haven't looked back. The thought of a yoga…read moreor Pilates studio can be intimidating, but from the moment I stepped through the doors of The Mat, I felt so welcomed and seen. The classes are dynamic but beginner friendly. You will sweat! This is a hot studio, but the instructors encourage taking breaks, staying hydrated and going at your own pace. The environment is lively and it truly feels like a community. The Mat also puts on a variety of events, partnering with other small or local businesses, or featuring guest instructors. I'm so grateful that Vallejo has this as an option. It makes me proud to support a Latina owned business and such an inclusive space!

Hot Wife Class…read more That's what my husband calls it, and honestly... he's not wrong. Heatwave Fitness Studio is one of my absolute favorite places to work out. The heated classes are the best--you leave drenched, feeling stronger, and somehow manage to have a blast while doing it. The energy is contagious, the music is on point, and the atmosphere is welcoming, supportive, and just plain FUN. M.E., the owner, has created something really special. And the instructors--Aja, Sydney, Paris, and Ashton--are all phenomenal. They each bring their own style, but every class leaves me feeling challenged, encouraged, and accomplished. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned fitness junkie, you'll feel right at home here. One warning... if the instructor yells, "WOO!" or tells you to make some noise, you'd better yell back! If you stay quiet, don't be surprised if you're rewarded with a few extra reps. It's all part of the fun and somehow makes the class even more motivating. The energy is infectious, everyone gets into it, and before you know it, you're laughing through the burn. And as for the end of class... I'm always ready to "let that sh*t go." If you know, you know.

I found myself excited to attend her class because each day didn't feel the same. She's always finding different workout routines to incorporate in her classes. 6 months into taking her classes my nerve pain was gone and now 4 years later my core strength is on another level. I would follow her anywhere and was so excited to see her opening up her new studio called the heatwave. If you're looking for a safe space to move your body this is the studio for you!
