The instructor knowledgeable in palates. The bad - studio smell like sweat that has not been cleaned up in ... ever. - the studio owner is unprofessional and rude and there is nothing "namaste" about her demeanor. - the instructor seems threatened and terrified of her boss (the owner) to the point of creating a false narrative Will not be returning. If you are okay with disrespectful behavior and just taking class by disconnecting with the rest of the world- this is a place for you. Disclaimer - I am a health professional with 30+ years of dance teaching experience. When your hot yoga studio forbids you from leaving the room during class, even if you felt unwell, it raises concerns about safety. To add insult to injury when the studio owner proceeds to yell at you, questions you says that by leaving the class was disrupted, and insults - that's speaks volumes about the culture of the practice. If I didn't leave, the class would have been even more disrupted with the instructor unable to teach at all because they would need to take care of the student instead of teaching, Furthermore, when the owner accuses the client that because of the client the owner could not complete their scheduled personal important appointment- that demonstrates concern for the owner's mental state. There are safety risks involved with hot yoga and it is the responsibility of the instructor and the student to ensure safety. Listening to your body is paramount: Regardless of studio policy, your well-being should be the priority. If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, or experience any other signs of heat intolerance or illness during a hot yoga class, it's essential to take a break or leave the room. Same with dance -pushing through injury is highly discouraged as it may cause further injury. People are paying for the class, this is not a prison. No one comes to class looking to disobey.

I have always shyed away from any gym or fitness environment due to bullying, rude service, and personal insecurities (still do but in a different head space now). I walked in their door and never looked back. I was paired with Maria, and it was the best thing to happen for me. Her knowledge her care she gets me. She pushes me further than I think I can go, and then pushes me further than that! At transformation fitness there is not one trainer who does not make their client feel worthy, motivated, inspired. I have my share of injuries/pain and with the dedication, care, and instructions from Steve I am able to still continue with my trainings through modifications and mobility work. The latest addition to an already fantastic studio are their Cardio Boxing classes .. holy full body work out. The biggest joy is how empowered I feel after, and how these classes are helping me feel more confident within myself and it's ALL BECAUSE OF THEM !!! I owe a tremendous thank you to owner Steve who has helped me dig deep and find my potential and work hard on keeping at it. I also owe a tremendous tjank you to my trainer Maria who I would be lost without. I didn't think virtual would be for me but since working out with Joe (I am in California) I have dropped 16 pounds and feel better and stronger than I have EVER. He is constantly pushing me to raise the bar and I've never sweated so much in my life! When I think I can't, Joe reminds me that I can! Every class is slightly different; there is always a new theme that the class is structured around. You can tell that the teacher prepares for every class in advance. Studio: Sparkling clean. It is quite small, since it's set up in the basement of the teacher's house. However, I personally like that intimate atmosphere: it feels cozy and safe, so it allows me to completely relax and "check-out", especially in my savasana :)

There is brand new equipment as of the beginning of 2025 so you are basically working on everything New. The price of this gym is expensive. if you just use the gym area you are paying for the whole gym. Pool, and other amenities and such. This is though I think the best gym so far I would say on the island for the money. Nice people working here , nice clientele, clean atmosphere. It does get crowded at times but tell me what gym doesn't.

Even a YMCA staff escorted those maintenance workers into the women's locker room and shower room the Y staffs would not make sure everyone aware of it. I personally don't feel secure in this environment. I understand things broken and need repairing. It's impossible to closed down the entire locker room for just maintenance purposes. But the management should do a better job on this. I don't blame those maintenance workers. It is 100% responsibility of the YMCA management to pretect their members. They should have trained their staffs better to make sure everyone aware of the situation. No one wants to experience surprises like this. ***Updates: Thanks for writing back. Once I walked out of the shower room I heard some men talking in the sauna room. I quickly ran back in the shower room and told the cleaning lady what happened. Then she talked to the YMCA female staff who accompanied the maintenance workers. She then walked them outside and asked me to finish changing in one of the stalls in the locker area so the workers can continue the repairing. I was not notified by any staffs about the situation when I was in the shower. The second incident just happened couple weeks ago 9/26. When I entered the shower room from the pool I saw a YMCA female staff standing in the hallway and sipping ice coffee. I saw one of the shower stalls occupied at that time. As soon as I entered one of the shower stalls I heard a man voice. He was supposed to check which showers were broken. I was not being notified when I walked in the shower room even the staff saw me.

It would be remarkable enough to have a studio whose facilities feel like a daily spa retreat. Or to have a studio where you are welcomed by the warmest teachers, or where the students you sweat with will become some of your favorite people. But at The Furnace, all of this is true all at once. It is also the only studio I've ever been to (and I've been to many studios the world over) where the clientele actually reflects the racial diversity of the studio's zip code.
