The pros: - Affordable - Open 24 hours - Decent equipment - Decently clean on floor - Location: easy free parking and Metro accessible - Good tunes The cons: - Clientele: kiddy town, so lots of yelling and other obnoxious behavior - Restroom side of locker room often in bad shape. Needs more regular cleaning and maintenance. One of the men's stalls has been closed for about 3 weeks and counting. - One set of water fountains (and only one works at a time) for the entire gym - Not staffed after a certain time in the evening and on weekends, so zero policing of the obnoxious behavior that would not fly anywhere else. - Garbage often overflowing, garbage often left on or at machines. Right now the hours are the only thing keeping me there, and the fact that they have better equipment than Planet Fitness. If anything else opens nearby with similar hours (even if more expensive), I will jump ship in a heartbeat. Would not recommend for adults 30+, you will probably hate the environment. read more

I absolutely love Pure Fitness in Tysons. The Staff is friendly, the equipment is great and clean and they offer different classes for any type of training and physical activity level. Gym has good equipment, but: 1) There are lots of people here that sit on machines and don't exercise for long periods of time while playing on their phones. They have no concept there are people waiting to use that machine, much less there are others alive around them. 2) There are personal trainers that pull equipment into random areas, but don't put it back. So you don't know if they are still using it--you have to just guess. 3) the bathrooms have problems--at least one toilet seems not to flush well . . .and so it is hard to use. And the showers--seems like people are scared to get changed in the locker room area, so they must be bringing shoes and other dirty gear into the shower to put on their underwear, because the showers are often dirty. 4) There are small guys here that pick up big weight, but apparently don't have the strength to lower the weights to the ground (and we are not talking about big weights) in a slow manner, and so they just drop them and let them roll toward nearby other people. There is one guy who is older, has a weird accent and loves to talk about sports in the locker room, who picks up weights, that are not in the thousands of pounds, but always drops them and lets them roll from a high elevation . . . because apparently his muscles only work one way . . . or he thinks that is the "cool way" of dropping weights. And he often makes weird sounds when lifting and dropping. If you go, you will see him. read more

The only reason this review is 4/5 stars and not 5 is that there isn't a phone number to the actual facility. I went to sign up for a day pass online and it kept failing. I tried on multiple devices. Spent maybe 30 minutes looking for a number to call to see if I could get a day pass on site. No luck. Luckily, I decided to go regardless. This is a nice gym that has a little bit of everything. Plenty of cardio options, free weights, machines and more. I went around 4-5pm and it was packed. There was a line for common things like benches, squat racks, etc... plenty of cardio options to go around though. I come to this area every other month, I'm definitely coming here again. Just in the mornings. PRO TIP: try to get your day pass or monthly pass online. A day pass is around $7 and monthly is around $10. They have no way of collecting money inside the actual facility. read more

i like the fact that they are open 24 hours and I've actually needed to come here early in the morning at around 5am. My previius gym had the same 24 hour access and it was helpful to me in certain situations. i signed up for the core membership a few months ago and I like the fact that there is no contract. Im only planning on being in the area for a few months, so this type of membership is a huge plus! Not to mention the fact that it's situated so close to my office. The equipment here is modern and there are more than enough machines for everyone. At my previous gym, I would need to wait for a period of time in order to use the popular incline bench. There has been no issue like that here. I utilize the treadmill more than anything, and I believe that there are more than 20 treadmills here. The Staff here have also been very helpful. read more

Gym has gone way down hill. i go early typically before 5 am and the gym is unattended from 9 pm I believe. There are always weight plates strewn everywhere and trash all over the floor, including water bottles, paper towels, and sports drink cans from the vending machines. When I go the gym is filthy. The cleaning crew that worked overnights has been cut from the budget. Now they show up around 5 am and do a quick trash clean then leave. I did have a workout around 7 am on a Monday and it was packed. You couldn't work out because every decent machine or bench was taken. I guess you get what you pay for. Cleanliness: Zero Equipment: 2 out of 10 (out of service placard gets old) Hours: 10 out of 10 Hey it's 24x7 Staff: Not around when I'm there Atmosphere: 7 out of 10, but zero if you workout after 7 am. Never go at night around 9 to 10. It's a teenage hangout and machines are hogged by the a holes watching YouTube videos. Been a ride, but off to Club Studio down the street. 4 times the price, but time to enjoy some quality for a change. read more

I have been a member of this gym for about year. What I love most about this gym is the classes. Especially the dance classes. My favorite instructor is Melissa Rosario. She is incredible in motivating and making the class so fun! Since my apartment has a good-sized gym, I could cancel my membership, but decided to keep it because I wanna keep coming to Melissa's dance classes. Melissa is the best!!!! The only thing I feel very unfortunate is that Melissa was mistreated and disrespected by one of the gym members recently and the gym staffs did not handle the incident properly and fairly, which was very disappointing. read more

It's just ok. Becoming very trashy. I walked in today and the smell of BO hit me before you even check in at the pods. You have to avoid this gym from 3pm-9pm due to how crowded it gets. There is just not enough room. After 9pm it's filled with skinny sub 17 little boy groups some of which like to work out with their shirts off when no staff is around. Imagine walking into the studio as a woman and seeing skinny little boys working out shirtless. Other groups travel in groups of 3+ or more. The gym isn't designed for more than 2 people on a machine at a time. I feel like this is degrading over time and will soon be overrun with trash. Time to begin the gym search again. read more

When it opened it was a great facility with a decent array of equipment and didn't feel crowded even at peak hours. It's now horribly overrun by teenagers that bang and slam equipment and hover over you asking when you're going to be done with a set. The staff here treats the gym like it's their playground and members are just an inconvenience. When I asked one of the staff to deal with a couple of loud and obnoxious guys that were camped out at some weight training machines, they acted insulted that I would even ask them to do THEIR job. It's also been increasingly apparent that LGBTQ people are not welcomed here and are treated with disdain and passive aggressive attitudes by both staff and members. Swore I had cancelled my membership until this morning I get a charge for $27. Haven't gone in weeks and tried to get a refund but they will not provide it. The people of the gym are great, and I love my trainer, but the gym is set up in the most dicked-up manner possible. The people who work at the gym cannot help you with any administritive thing (they can't even sign you up). You have to go to the half-ass Pure fit website to do anything. I put my membership payment on my credit card and after six month had to cancel the credit card. So I go down to the gym and try to switch my membership to the new one, and the guy explains that all that gets done online. So I go only, it's the last day of my membership, I attempt to switch it over to the new credit card, and I get a message, "you cannot do that until tomorrow." I go back the next day to switch my card, and I cannot get the deal that I had--I am in the military and was getting a military discount, which they offer, but don't tell anyone about. I figure, there must be a message board or number to call to work this all out. Guess what, no message board, no phone number, nothing. I liked the gym and I liked the price, but it's sooooo inconvenient and has the worst customer service. I'm done with it. read more

The main issue is the Garbage Fees that are added on top of your membership cost, the off-peak hours at 9.99$ a month sounds like a good deal but on top of it they add the grabage 39$ joining fee, which is a scam, since you are doing the joining yourself on the app without a single person helping you, and on top of that while they do not advertise it on their membership page you'll get slaped with an additional 45$ of "facility maintenance fee" charged on your 4th month. The actual Monthly off-peak is therefore 9.99 * 12 + 39 + 45 = 17 $ a month and not the 9.99 advertised. It stil might be a good deal for you, but know what you will pay! People should know what they will pay and not be bait and switched like that. It's outreageous and unacceptable. These type of false advertising should be illegal. Get us Rid of the Junk Fees! This raiting is foremost for their shady business practices that shows a terrible business culture. They could not care less about you they rather you pay their plus membership and never use their facilities. read more

I've been going to this gym for over a month now and I absolutely love the ambience, convenience, and flexible hours. I also like how you need a QR or PIN code to enter which adds a sense of security. The monthly plans are not to steep and even though there are no "extra amenities" such as a sauna or pool, it's worth the price. read more

The gym is rarely in order, the weights are always unracked, and there is never anything to wipe down the equipment with. Customer service rep that was at the gym when I went to sign up told me that everything is handled through the app, then walked away. Didn't explain any of the membership options or anything. And good luck cancelling your membership. I was told today that the only way to cancel is to have my bank reject the charge from Pure Fitness. Details below, but in summary this is an awesome small-ish gym with everything you need and nothing you don't, great vibe on the inside with cool lighting and good music, polite people, mix of young and old. Great parking, friendly staff, low price and 24 hour access. What you need to get used to is that they don't have a bunch of staff running around, you use a door code to get in and out, you're expected to clean up your own machines, and there are vending machines for water and other amenities. Everything is à la carte and self serve, which allows them to charge a low monthly fee. I definitely prefer this to other bloated gym packages where you pay two or three times as much and get a bunch of amenities that you never use baked into the price. Classes have been good so far. All the equipment looks and feels new, everything in good repair. read more

Pure is a good edition to the community in the area. Very clean equipment and amenities. Perfect for beginners and advanced lifters. It gots everything you need. However, the customer service needs some serious work. They're Very hostile towards countless people who are new to the gym. There is little to no conveyance on how things work at Pure and the staff themselves don't even know how everything works. Pure Fitness does what a gym is supposed to do, provide enough equipment to allow beginner to advanced level workouts. They carry Olympic weights (kg not pounds) which is an interesting and fun spot in the gym. Be wary of teenagers coming in and not knowing how to properly spot their partner. I have to say some of these reviews are a bit much but I am not surprised considering this area. First let me start by saying yes there are a lot of teens in the gym around a certain hour (not sure what you want them to do about it) it's a new day.. focus on your workout instead of TRYING TO BE inconvenienced. Second, each staff member has their own personality but they make it a point to assist when and where needed AND TO GREET YOU UPON ARRIVAL! As a New Yorker that's something I had to get used to but they definitely make you feel like a fitness family. I'm in the area from New York a couple days out of the week and make sure to pop in one of the classes (which are offered at different times during the day, are always challenging and well organized). I also must say I love the staff banter and how they push each other. I even had one of the bootcamp instructors pop in and take a Barre class with us. I thought to myself that was a great way to make the beginners in the class feel VERY comfortable. As for the cleanliness-- I go at majority "off peak" hours and I see the staff re-up and clean bathrooms and common areas. I also have had to contact customer support (non emergency issues) via the chat and ALWAYS received a prompt response. Keep in mind they ask for your patience while a rep is connected. This is a very convenient gym full of hard workers attempting to give us all a break from life. RELAX and enjoy your workout read more

This location has friendly staff, a great selection of classes and equipment, on top of a great price and no commitment. If you are new to a gym, you will want to be proactive about getting help but if you know your way around a gym, this is a fantastic option. The app allows you to schedule classes, track your progress, and leverage a ton of additional classes. I've only been going a few weeks (generally off-peak) but I feel better already! read more

i really wanted to stay a member since this is one of the few 24/7 gyms in the area but gym has gone downhill since it opened and customer service does not exist. no phone number, cancelation takes hours. i've used the Live chat on their site before and either get an error or takes 2 hours to reach someone. dont recommend this place read more
