When I asked for clarification about the posted hours, he abruptly repeated, "No, we're getting ready to close." If the kitchen stops taking orders before 5:00, that should be made clear to customers. But the cutoff is only part of my concern. Nathan's condescending tone and dismissive response were unnecessary. This was not my first unpleasant interaction with him, and it's disappointing to receive that kind of service at a place my family otherwise enjoys. Even when I asked kindly if I could come in to order rather than over the phone that was an issue. I politely asked for his name and his response was " What do you need it for" Jay has built a welcoming business; Nathan's customer service and level of professionalism fall far short of the standard Toastique sets as a standard. As someone who previously worked in and supervised the Whole Foods Market juice bar down the street, we would never deny a customer a beverage during business hours.
