I'm a huge fan of Toastique! I'm visiting Mission Viejo this week and was thrilled to find a Toastique here. Food: The food quality is very consistent with other Toastique locations I've visited. Today I tried the Smoked Salmon Gourmet Toast. It was delicious; lots of flavor. Service: The service was very quick and efficient. Ambiance: This is where Toastique lost a star. I was dining with my husband and our 2 small dogs today, so we ate on the patio in front of the store. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day - lots of sunshine and not too hot or too cold - perfect for an alfresco lunch, right?! That is, except for the large bee population. They were a real nuisance today, as it was when I visited earlier in the week. The bees were quite aggressive; couldn't get a bite of my toast without having to shoo some away constantly. Finally, I brought my toast inside and finished it there. I know that bees are essential for the global food supply and ecosystem. It is Super RARE for me to write a review while at the given business. How rare you might ask?! Well, more rare than you seeing a BIG FOOT. But this cafe deserves it! The PB crunch toast is everything that you can imagine and then some. It is delicious! The latte was HOT and paired perfectly with the toast. I asked the kind barista if I can switch the toast with sourdough which she kindly said yes. The service was friendly and fast. The manager acknowledged the customers. The ambiance is so cute and homey. Today was my second time at Toastique in a week! I could not stop thinking about the avocado toast! I stopped to visit with a family friend since I'm in the area a few times a week and have been dying to try this place. It surely did not disappoint! The avocado toast was like no other Ive had before. There are so many layers of flavor explosion in this little meal--slightly sweet tomatoes with tangy balsamic, savory, slight spicy, earthy... And its the perfect amount for my late breakfast. The service was exceptional! The employee's happy and welcoming vibe tells me they are well taken care of and actually enjoy working there. Bumped into Toastique while waiting for Homegoods to open in the plaza and so glad we did. The cafe is simple and clean with plenty of plaza parking. Customer service was patient and attentive. Wanted to love this place since it's cute and nearby, but they don't seem to prioritize food safety. Unfortunately had to return my spicy crab toast because it tasted spoiled. When they checked the date, it had expired 4 days ago. Yikes. They did offer to make another one, but no thanks! The tomato buratta tasted amazing & large portion but mostly huge tomatoes $13. The roasted chicken salad $14 on gluten free bread (extra $2) wasn't that flavorful. I've been wanting to try Toastique and it did not disappoint. First of all, a 45g protein waffle that's gluten-free?? I had to try it, and it actually delivered. The base was greek yogurt, no flour! We also got the seasonal fig toast, an açaí bowl, and a vanilla latte, and everything was so good. The fig toast was the standout for me since its not super common but def super fresh, balanced, and just one of those items you keep thinking about after. Everything here feels really intentional and beautifully made. You can tell it's handcrafted, which I appreciate, but it does mean you might wait a little bit so don't come starving. ;) The space is really cute, the menu is easy to read (which I love because there are so many options), and it's in a plaza with a huge parking lot so it's super easy. It's not too crunchy, and the roof of my mouth is saved! I also love that melding of the flavors between the onion jam and the peppery arugula. Mmmmm! Finally went to Toastique, and now I get it. This isn't just another "healthy" spot that looks good on Instagram and tastes forgettable. Everything here feels intentional. I wish I took better photos even though pictures alone don't do it justice. You can taste the fresh ingredients immediately. The cold-pressed juices are easily some of the best I've had, the coffee beans are excellent, and even the details matter: in-house made peanut butter, perfectly ripe avocados, real tomato burrata, and food that looks beautiful without trying too hard. What really stood out to me is how balanced it all feels. Clean, flavorful, satisfying. The OC used to lead the way with places like this, and somewhere along the line we settled for mediocrity dressed up as "trendy." Toastique feels like a return to standards: high quality, thoughtfully prepared, reasonably priced, and actually delicious. More of this is needed here. The avocado smash with the poached egg was the standout. It was fresh, flavorful, and the poached egg was cooked perfectly. For a new spot, the quality was already impressive. I ordered a hot spiced chai latte with oat milk and it was incredible. You can immediately tell it's made with real ingredients and not powders. It was warm, cozy, and full of balanced spice. The avocado toast was bland and the actual bread was kinda stale. The presentation was pretty but flavor is the main goal here and this was like eating bland guac on bread. I also found my blue mystique smoothie to be bland as well, I recently had a similar smoothie at the new Pure green in mission viejo and their smoothie blew this one out the water. Super welcoming, friendly, and genuinely made the experience enjoyable. The space is bright, comfortable, and has Wi-Fi, which makes it perfect for getting some work done while enjoying an amazing breakfast. They were also running a promo for a free coffee with a $10 purchase, which was a nice bonus. I am a certified FOODIE. I have PRAYED to have a place like this on THE Ladera side of the freeway. After checking weekly for its Grand Opening, the moment finally came. The Service? A++. The Ambiance? AAA+++. Now, the Food. I was torn between the Avocado Toast - which is OVER THE TOP or the Chicken Sald Sandwich. So, I flipped a coin and the Chicken Salad won. The tomatoes were farm fresh - better than ANY Grocery Stores produce. Then, there was the COFFEE. There is NOTHING to compare to this. Overall, the restaurant was a ten out of ten.
