It's so hard to find a place you like so when you do, you stick with them. Ti-Jay has been doing my hair for years. She chose a color that was natural and talked me into trying highlights that I love. She did a straightening treatment that was also great for someone with thick wavy hair like mine. When I wanted to donate my hair she cut it for me and gave me a cute fresh style. We schedule appts for the entire year and she is always on time. She tries to accommodate changes by switching customers around so appts are rescheduled instead of cancelled. The salon has 5 stations but rarely are all stations being used. They just bought new furniture including styling chairs which are comfortable and modern. There's lots of customer parking. The other stylists are also great and everyone is very friendly! read more

I read the reviews on Yelp and decided to make an appointment to cut my hair for the first time since Covid19. Ui communicated with me via text that she was running behind schedule. I rescheduled for another day that would work for me. She also sent me a reminder text of my upcoming appointment. Upon entering the salon, I noticed how small the space was. But other than the small space, I had a good experience. Ui was very personable. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and I was very happy with the outcome. Park in the parking lot and go up the stairs on the right side of the building that says "exit" Went to heather to fix my hair. It was red which is very hard to get out. She worked hard for 4 hours and my hair turned out amazing! She is not a talker which I like bc I hate talking lol. I watched tv the whole time. Everyone was so friendly and nice it felt like a family in there. read more

So I randomly decided to get a pixie cut, mind you I have never had short hair in MY LIFE! So I was very nervous and anxious. I was told about a hair salon right next to this place, but I had bad experiences with them, so I decided to try out this place instead. I called them and they were able to fit me into their schedule not two hours later! I walked into this adorable little personal salon tucked away on the second floor of the building, and was immediately impressed with the cleanliness and decor. The workers were very outgoing and friendly, and made me feel right at home. We talked for a bit about what I was thinking of doing and then 30 minutes later my hair cut was done! She was so fast! I couldn't believe it, she was also so skilled, I could tell she did these kind of haircuts regularly. Well a couple weeks later and I am still MADLY in love with this style I definitely recommend this place!!! Five stars all the way!!! read more

I was looking for a new stylist for myself and ended up finding one for my entire family! Ti-Jay is as good as it gets. She's personable and great at what she does. Pricing is good too! Like some previous posts commented, the place is a little hard to find but there is always parking (well at least when I've gone). I could go on and on about how happy I am with the job she did on my hair and my 3 kids but it would be pointless as the rating speaks for itself. Bottom line, if you're looking for a new place to cut your hair, women or children, and don't want to dip into your life savings account to do so, go and take a little drive down to Kaneohe and see Ti-Jay. Renee is amazing and was able to get my dark hair a platinum blonde! Both Renee and TJ were so nice and the prices are a lot reasonable than other salons like Paul brown. The only downside is that it's hard to book an appt since they are so busy and it's only the 2 of them read more

Great experience for the first time. Very safe (take temperature before you enter) & clean, masks, distancing and cleaning right away. Ui was very attentive, helpful and gave great cut. Super reasonable price considering blow drying & semi styling was part of my "short cut". Other salons overcharge for similar services. Will definitely be back. read more

Been here 3-4x and I always request Heather, she is consistent and everytime it has looked amazing. I went in not knowing what looked good or what I wanted other than my split ends gone, and she really figured out something that looked fantastic. She is very flexible with her scheduling, and is the only person I trust with my hair! 10/10 recommend her for anyone that needs some love for their hair :) read more

I fly into Hawaii for my hair cuts... I had long locks of beautiful, unmanageable hair, much as you'd expect to find on a proud unicorn stallion. It made me wild, untame-able, and strong willed. I would play loud music, drive excessively fast and leave a wake of havoc everywhere I went. I worked long days and slept peacefully at night, reveling in my happy stag life. One day I stepped into PURE salon where a mystical hair sorceress named Ti-Jay calmed the unrestful sea of dark keratin. With a potion of tea tree oil and razor sharp shears my mane slowly shaped into a clean, uniform length and with it came maturity, focus and a college education. Ever since that day, my hair yearns for a clean clipping and quick scissor work from Ti-Jay. It refuses to be trimmed by anyone save her, and now I need to plan my trips to Hawaii around the need for a magic hair cut. Will it work the same magic for you? At 5'1 my hair reached all the way down my back right above my butt. It was super long. After reading reviews here on yelp I decided that this was the salon I felt like I could trust to take me to my new journey with shorter hair. Location: Its a tough spot to find. But read closely. To your left you will have times market and quiznos, straight across, there is the school an to the left is a medical building....go, park at that parking lot and head to the entrance on the right side of that building, it is there, that you will see your first hint that that staircase will lead you to PURE hair salon! Service: From the time I called Ti Jay was super friendly and I was excited to meet her. As soon as I took my hair out of its normal bun she gasped at the length and asked what I wanted to do. After weighing some options I was ready for the change an told her to just chop it off (over 13+ inches!) and leave it right above my boobs....with that said she took me to the wash chair! Ti Jay was friendly, made great conversation and has very light hands. Loved the way she washed my hair! Then when it came to cutting, you could tell that she has had many years in this industry. She was quick and precise! She gave me free flowing layers that even when I do my hair and let it air dry, I look like i've just stepped out of a salon (and this is almost 3 weeks since that appointment!) She also gave me bangs which fit my round face perfectly! Another amazing plus is the price. You just could not beat the price! It was less than $25 I do believe...which is crazy since for any hair cut i've always paid at least 45! Price + amazing service + talented hair dresser = Paige approved and i'll be back for my next cut in a couple weeks!!! read more

Just a pre-caution, my co-worker said that Ti-Jay does better for men's hair.... Story time: My stylist is in San Francisco. She said she would be back in June. It is already August, and her visit here is pending. Um..alright.... so I needed a back up place because my weave was getting out of control. Luckily, my co-worker's wife was a hair-stylist. To show support and feel a little bit more at ease, I requested her. I have a suitable replacement YEA! Synopsis: BEST HAIR-CUT EVAA..EVA..EVA..! I'm sooo serious. Simply amazing. The area is hard to find, however. It's seriously a HOLE in the wall with small printing stating "Pure Hair Salon" and a piece of board that has information of other offices. Environment: A small space on the second floor with paintings on the wall and products all over the place. It's not quite homely/welcoming. The door is locked, so you have to knock if you want to get in. People: Only two girls who work there. Amazing! TI-JAY! Did an awesome job. Two thumbs up. She talks you through the entire hair-cut. She recommends that you take a picture of your hair. She tells you how to style it, condition (depending on hair style), what products would work for your hair. She stated she always gets challenging cases, but loves it. She will do what YOU want. Cost: First time is 25% off. And including tip, I only paid 30 bucks. CHEEAPP! And it was cheap especially since my haircut was sooo complicated. I was ready to pay 50. read more

First, let me just say that I live in Mililani. I venture out all the way to the Windward side just to get my hair cut over here by Tijay! My mom has been going to her for years, so I decided to give it a try since my regular hair stylist quit and I can't find her :( But I'm glad I have Tijay now! Every couple months, my mom, grandma, and I all go to her to get our hair cut one after another. She's really friendly and makes good conversation. Not the "just to break the silence" kind of conversation if you know what I mean. Most importantly, she does a great job at cutting our hair! She changed up my grandma's look by giving her a subtle bob cut. Made her look 10 years younger ;) My mom always gets her hair colored by her too, and it always looks fantastic. The other girl who works here, Renee, is good too! Years ago, I had my hair highlighted for the first time by her and I loved it. I definitely recommend this place :) read more

My wife had an appointment for a haircut here the other day. Normally, I don't tag along to these appointments, but we had some errands to run afterwards so I decided to come along this time. I knew my wife liked this place (otherwise, why would she keep going back). And I knew one of the reasons was because of the staff (yes, Renee and TJ were both very friendly and easy to talk to). But what I didn't know was how reasonable their prices were. When my wife's haircut was done and it was time to pay, I was expecting a $50 or $60 bill - which would not be uncommon at other salons - but her haircut was $28!!! As a guy (and a bald guy at that), I could never understand paying $50+ for a haircut, but $28 I can learn to accept. Great service + nice people + great value = 5 stars! read more

I always see renee at pure hair salon every 3 months and she does my hair exactly the way I want it. Renee has been my hairstylist for about 7 years and she brought my boxed colored, damaged do it myself hair back to life!! Lol... I always like to change my hair up especially between reds and blonde and brown highlights. I tried it all and every time I loved it. I just went to renee this past Friday and told her I want all blonde top and all under bright red! She was like are you serious? Are you sure... you've never done that before and it's true, I always wanted to but never did.. but I finally did and here's the pic. ... it was soo freaking bold and bright blonde and I was in shock but what the hell.. but loved the reds and blondes together... renee you are awesone and you do great work every time! THIS IS SALON IS A GEM IN THE KANEOHE COMMUNITY, but this review is specifically for Heather. First and foremost, I was in desperate need of a new do and because of my work schedule called the day of. Heather fit me in on such short notice. I contacted them via Instagram and she replied so quickly. She made my hair and I feel brand new! Heather is great at what she does...you can tell she takes great pride in her work and making her clients feel comfortable. This is definitely my new go-to salon! The atmosphere is great! OMG love the girls there Renee is so awesome she does magic. You take a photo of the hair style u want and she will tell u if it will work for your hair type. So honest and very sweet. They even do lash extension love it love it never use mascara again great for when u travel. The place is clean and family oriented kids r so welcomed. I totally messed up my hair and needed it fixed asap. I called first thing in the morning and the person who answered had someone else call me back. (She was helpful) Heather call within a few minutes. I sent her pix of my hair and she had some ideas on how to fix it. She was able to see me that morning. She did an awesome job. I wanted to get my hair cut & was pretty excited from all the reviews. I called before they opened at 9A on a Wednesday to make an appointment for Thursday. I thought I would get a call at some point during their business hours that same day saying whether or not they could fit me in but they called back on Friday at 9A. You can't call when you initially open but you call me when you open 2 days later? How professional. Sorry, but you're not getting my business ever. read more

Pure hair salon in Kaneohe is a small shop on the second floor of the building right behind Ben Parker Elementary. Renee is mine & my mom's stylist. We love her! She gives great haircuts. For my long hair I'm quite picky and like to keep long layers. She always does am awesome job. & you can't beat the price! For my mom's hair, she had highlights & a cut. Her hair looks amazeballs! Everyone says she looks younger! I definitely recommend Renee at Pure if your looking for beautiful hair at a great price. There are also discounts for referrals, for the new client & the person who referred you. read more

I got married in Hawaii and needed to find a hairstylist for me and my bridesmaids. Through some online searching I found Renee and Ti-jay. I set up a test appointment and since I was so happy with the results, I booked them for my wedding day. Both girls came to our house. They were friendly, quick, and so reasonably priced. Most of my girls didn't know what they wanted. They made great suggestions and made adjustments to fit the look and personality of each girl. Everyone raved on the end product. I've been looking for a salon/stylist ever since I moved home 3 years ago and I'm so happy to have finally found one! I went to Pure Hair Salon this morning and am so pleased with Ti-jay! She was able to take me in on short notice and is super friendly! I saw the yelp reviews and made an appointment with TiJay for my sweetheart, she was able to fit us in right away with little notice. We loved the cut and good price and started going back regularly. I really loved what I saw and decided to give her a try. She did a good job, I was impressed and satisfied. A few months later I was needing a change and wanted to shorten the length quite a bit and get as much body as I could with my fine hair. She did an amazing job. I love my shorter hair. So easy to manage and looks good even when I first wake up. Healthy full body. What I always wanted...she delivered. read more

Just tried out Pure Hair Salon as I have been planning on switching to another person to cut my hair. My daughter had gone to see Renee for do her hair for Prom and she did a great job. I made an appointment with TJ, as she is the one that does men's hair? Anyway, I really enjoyed it...funny...you normally don't say that about cutting your hair but the two girls are hilarious and even the other customers are joining in the conversation and laughing. Most enjoyable haircut I ever had. Great haircut, very reasonable, she took the time to make sure that the cut was what I wanted. Pure hair salon is the best in kaneohe in my opinion. I see Ti -jay for my color and cut, Renee is awesome as well. The atmosphere is great and I feel like I'm getting a therapy session ( I get to vent ) along with a great haircut lol. The salon is clean, cute and they made great use of the space and the price is affordable . Just did a partial heavy highlight and cut done and I already got a lot of compliments and I love it. read more

Thank goodness! I couldn't be thankful enough that I wish I found DANIE sooner. She is so personable & nice. She made me feel comfortable & made sure that I was doing okay the whole time she was doing my hair. She even offered me something to drink as soon as I sat down. She definitely knows what she's doing as she explained every process & gave me some tips of how to maintain & take care of my hair color. The salon is clean & well kept. They're located on the 2nd floor of Kaneohe Medical Building, right next to Benjamin Parker Elementary School. Parking is shared with other businesses. My appointment was early morning so there weren't that many cars yet but by the time I was done, the lot was full & it was on a Sunday. Maybe it's just me but I was left pretty unhappy with the end result. I chose to make an appointment with Gina because everyone was raving about her on yelp and her prices are very reasonable. I went in for highlights and a cut. After she was done doing the color and the cut she curled my hair before I could see the end result. Therefore, I left the salon feeling relatively happy with the end result. However, as I eventually washed my hair and put it up on a ponytail I realized exactly what she'd done to my hair. The highlights (or balayage as she had recommended instead) seem very chunky and you can very clearly tell they look unnatural and do not go all the way to the root of my hair. I've had balayage a few times before an I'm quite sure that's not what it's supposed to look like. This was my first visit to Beauty in the East. I was referred by a friend to see Gina…read more Upon my arrival there was plenty of parking. I was greeted by Gina and she spent at least 20 minutes going over what I wanted, my hopes, the reality of how the color would look and take with my current hair color, and ensuring she understood what I was looking for. Gina took her time working on my hair - explaining what she was doing and why through each step. She definitely knew what she was doing and her confidence was reassuring. I was there for coloring for my wedding next month. This was to be a trial, with enough time to fix just in case. While I still need to see how much the color will fade with washes, I love it! It's darker than I imagined, but looks amazing! In the sunlight the red/burgundy color shows up and makes it look even better! I'm very glad that I have found someone on Oahu I can trust to keep my hair beautiful! Thanks Gina!
