Its been a little over a week since I went in for a cut and color. I am finally writing a review because I am so disappointed in the results of the color. I did not get anything near what I asked for, and although i I am not a color expert, this is the WORST hair color I have ever gotten. See pictures. It also cost around $300.00, not worth it! I would've rather left for my extended work trip with my almost year grown out brassy highlights . Be careful when calling yo make an appointment. The man who answered the phone wasn't helpful at all and hesitated to answer any of my questions. It was my first time calling and my friend referred me, Apparently, thus very rude and unprofessional employee failed on his/her customer service skills. I'm hoping he want a hairdresser because it would be untrustworthy. He failed on listening to my questions abd really acted like he didn't want any clients. I went to get a root touchup and the stylist said she charged $85.00. Be Aware not knowing she added $15 more for the hair conditioner. I usually sit for awhile after the wash if I requested getting the conditioner and this time I didn't!!! I also had a haircut not a trim (requests) and she charged me $70 when I was told $60. Total $170. plus tip. I been doing to Regis for years and their prices gotten expensive It's concerning that this stylist was adding more to my bill. I didn't see the receipt until I got home. Two months ago, I went back to Regis Salon to get another fantastic haircut from Tanya, but she had left for another salon. I was so disappointed, but I NEEDED a cut badly - I ALWAYS wait until I cannot stand my hair any longer. They told me where Tanya went, but I was there already, so I took a chance and got a haircut from Niki! It turned out TERRIFIC! I had to go to a graduation in New Jersey and I didn't want to fuss with my hair. I told Niki that I work Night Shift, so most of the time, I'm trying to sleep and when I wake up, I just need to run out the door. I don't have time to waste on my hair. I trusted Niki and she took a lot of dead hair off the back of my head so I can sleep on it and it doesn't flip out in unruly ways! She layered it just right so that strangers tell me that I have cute hair! How cool is that!? Two months have passed and my hair is flipping out again. I'm forced to get a haircut, so I go back to Niki and she can take me on the day that I call! Right before the appointment, I get a call to let me know that she's running a half an hour behind! How thoughtful is that! I call back to confirm that I received the message - they are so gracious! I told Niki how wonderful the last haircut was and that I'm ready for a trim because of this humid weather. Niki added more layers and with her creative ways, gave me more options and a trendy look! I like the gentle scalp massage and her careful method of trimming the ends! I highly recommend Niki! She's young, sweet, and attentive! Excellent customer service! I'm a happy camper!! read more

While Tara did a fine job coloring my hair and making it one color (which is absolutely not hard, I was just too lazy to do it myself), I was completely and utterly APPALLED with what she did to my bangs. I wouldn't call what she did to my bangs a trim, I would call it a butchering. I look like I have a choppy, terrible bowl cut split in half on the top of my head, in clear view, as it's on my face. For someone that supposedly has 37 years of cosmetology experience under her belt, my hair looks as if she's a beginner in school. She actually made the rest of my hair look worse overall, even though she only cut my bangs. When I complained about the awful work she did, all she said was "sorry, I don't make the prices", dismissing me and acting like she didn't care about the service she provided. If you dare go here, beware. Not only do my bangs look like they were hacked off with a chainsaw, but she provided no advice and guidance when it came to coloring my hair. I came in and told her what I do at home with developer with zero experience, and she did exactly that. Nothing special, no technique, no expertise. read more

I do not leave bad reviews when I go somewhere. I usually just go on with my day and never go back to the place where I had the bad service. Well, this one I just had to post with pictures to prove it. Went in for a simple cut, long bob with layers. First cut was terrible, went back to a different person a week later, cut was even WORSE! When I called a few days later, the manager told me that they were going to give me a refund because there was nothing they could do to "make me happy." WTF!?! Are you freaking kidding me? You have 2 (or more) incompetent stylists and she's blaming me? She went on to say that Regis would give me a refund on Monday and hung up the phone. Two minutes later I called back and asked her for her cell phone so I could send her pictures. After she viewed the pictures, she did apologize and said to come back after it grows back. Ummmmm, HELL NO! NEVER AGAIN!!! Before I went in, my hair was pretty long, half way down my back. I asked the stylist keep the length, just layer the back. Shout out to Cheyenne my Stylist. She been doing my hair for over a year or two. She pays attention to detail, an active listener, and very personable. She bows her regulars really well. She never fails when it comes to adapting and overcoming challenges and most importantly my indecisiveness. I recommend her to all of my friends and family. No matter where she goes on Oahu I will stay loyal to her because it's not easy to find a Stylist that does my hair like she does. I've seen a lot of employees come and go throughout the years. i typically do not like to leave bad reviews but... after trying to live with this cut, it's just worse as the days go on. I came in with the expectation of getting a long layered look. I had very long hair so this shouldn't be a problem. I asked for about 6-8" be taken off the bottom but instead got 16" taken off by the time it was done. I also showed her 2 pictures of what I had wanted my cut to look like and it does not remotely resemble the pictures. My hair is now too short to wear naturally and must be straightened daily to be presentable. I can live with it being so short and I can live with straightening it daily, however the layers are also very crooked and looks to very choppy. She was very nice during the cut so one extra start for that, but I am not satisfied with the cut in the end. read more

My hairstylist is the best ever... she is always on top of it and knows the latest trends. I've never really cared for fancy hairstyles and etc but when she suggested the first look I had I really liked it and since then I trust her completely with my hair. Kat, my hairstylist always tells you truth and suggests what fits your face and the right color hair for you. I really like how she always shows you a picture of the hairstyle so that you can too visualize it. She really knows what she is doing and gets to you know as a client. I enjoy her attitude and her friendliness whenever I am there. The first hairstyle I got was a bob, I had long hair at that time and I wanted a dramatic hairstyle so I asked her to do it and she reassured me with my decision by saying that it would look nice with my face shape. I know it is their job to compliment you but it made me comfortable with making that decision. And I really loved the outcome of my bob :P Not only does she take really good care of you, her hands are very gentle and soft it makes you want to fall asleep in the chair. Especially when she is shampooing my hair she massages it and oh boy it is just so relaxing! I like this salon because of the cleanliness and they are always having special promotions with hairstyling and also hair products. When I was there they had a 20% off on a single item and it was 2/$25, what a deal it was. I was expecting tot have a good experience because this is a higher end salon and they had good reviews, I guess I should have read all of the reviews! Where to begin? I made my appointment on the fly, last minute decided to was going to get my hair trimmed. I made an appointment that evening and was told my trim would cost $33 with a wash beforehand. When I got there I explained that I was trying to grow my hair back out and only wanted a small trim all around. Jesse did my hair and it is short in the front, and long in the back. He took a good 4-5 inches off in some spots and wanted to cry as I watched the hair fall down. He was very nice, but that was not what I asked for at all!!! To paint a picture for you, my hair was down below my bra strap before my "trim" and is now shorter than my shoulders in the front. Also, talk about unprofessionalism!! The place was trashed! There were pizza boxes and takeout boxed everywhere. Along with a laptop and a ton of other personal items. Jesse had asked one of the other girls working to clean up her station some because it looked unprofessional and she snapped "why" like a child! Two other hair stylists were working on their friends hair while I was there and kept over-hearing them refer to me as "that lady." I felt completely out of place! Then, when I was rung up my total was $41. What?! What happened to my $33? Not happy. I will absolutely not be going back here! read more

Sorry this is a long one, but you should read this before making an appointment at Regis in Windward mall. This was for a wash and cut on 03/28/15. I should have consulted Yelp before going in yesterday to have my hair cut at Regis Windward Mall. Jesse was super unprofessional and did not listen to what I wanted. Other Yelpers have had bad experiences with him, Yelp doesn't lie! To make my bad experience even worse, he was training someone and had them sit in on the cut! I'm pretty sure the girl he was training would have done a much better job. He first told me to "watch out going to Supercuts" after I mentioned my last cut was there. He then proceeded to explain to the girl how he "doesn't cut hair like everyone else" and "has worked in many upscale salons". There is a reason he's not at an upscale salon anymore, if he were ever at one in the first place. I'm pretty sure he only knows one style and has no ability to work with different hair types and shape hair accordingly. I wanted to keep my length, and he chopped so many long layers in my blonde, once super long hair. I'm going to have to have another inch or two chopped to fix the mullet he left me with! You don't layer thin hair like that, you do short layers at the bottom to give it body, not long layers to make it look even more thin. I thought I had explained it to him pretty clearly that I wanted body, I ended up with stringy layers that go from my shoulders to my bra line. He zipped right through the cut and shampoo in under 40 minutes, he should have taken more time to see how my hair fell instead of go right in with the scissors. His egotistical and argumentative attitude didn't help when told him it was too short and not really what I wanted. It wasn't worth fighting with him about it, I didn't have the time and the damage was already done. Thank God I didn't let him touch my bangs! You are better off taking your chances at Supercuts, at least they have qualified who listen their customers. You might luck out here with someone else, but if Jesse is assigned your appointment, save yourself the $40. I am baffled that the management at Regis lets him show people how to cut hair. With his attitude, I wouldn't let him sweep the floor. read more

I called here yesterday to inquire about a scalp treatment as my scalp has been dry recently, I was told a deep conditioning treatment could do the trick so I made an appointment for today. When I arrived today, I had a woman sit me in one of the chairs and asked my concerns. As I proceeded to tell her, she was looking at my scalp. She stepped away and spoke with another stylist, to whom came up to me and took a look at my scalp, she asked me if I had children, to which I told her I have a toddler. She asked if she went to daycare, which I responded, yes, as she does. She then proceeded to tell me that I in fact had lice and would not be treated there due to the fact that I had lice. I left there absolutely astonished as I've never had lice and no one else in my house seems to have a problem with itchy scalps. Skeptical with what I was told, I decided to not only get a 2nd opinion, but a 3rd, and a 4th (luckily for me there are plenty of salons in the mall at my convenience). Not one other person at any salon agreed with the fact that I had lice. Still not happy with 3 people assuring me I was lice free, I went to the pharmacist in the area and asked if they would please take a look at my hair and tell me. Well I am relieved to say, I DO NOT have lice. I give this place 1 star because they are working with your hair... They should be able to tell the difference between dry scalp and lice and they can't even do that. How is someone supposed to trust them to cut or even dye ones hair?!?! Not only were both women wrong but they freaked me the hell out! No one wants to hear they have lice and i shouldn't have had to go to the lengths that I had to ensure I in fact didn't have lice. read more

As I was walking around the mall, I decided it was time for my annual hair cut. I've gotten a couple terrible cuts in my time so I'm rather picky about what establishments I visit. Thank you Yelpers for the reviews on this place! I walked in & was immediately seated with Caitlin. She was very nice & asked if I had anything in mind. I told her what I wanted a 2 inch cut & we moved over to the washing station. I am amazed how she accepted what I wanted & didn't counter with cutting more like other places I've visited. Is it just me or do their hair products smell wonderfully better than what I have at home? Anyways, she got to washing my hair, scrubbing my scalp & massaging my temples. Oh my, was it all divine & so relaxing. Caitlin & I talked story the whole time I was getting my hair cut until the blow dry (hard to hear what you're saying over a blow dryer). It made time go by pretty quickly. You can tell she loves what she does. I was extremely pleased with my hair. It was finally straight & smelled amazing! Maybe I'll change my annual hair cut to a bi-annual hair cut now. Regis gets 4 out of 5 stars because they really need to clean a bit more. I was grossed out by the amount of hair & dust on the top of the base boards. I understand this is a hair salon & there will be hair on the floor boards but I don't understand why the tops of the base boards can't be swept along with the floor boards after a client is finished. I'm very grateful Caitlin offered to let me put my purse on her station instead of the floor. read more

I get asked ALL the time who does my hair and always reply with Tanya from Regis in Windward Mall. Most hair stylists have told me in the past what they think looks better on me. When I had long hair past my back, I wanted to go short, razor short. When I wanted to go from black to blonde, I was told it couldnt be done or it would be orange. When I wanted to go from rose-gold to purple to silver and back, the only person who listened to me was Tanya. She didnt talk me out of what I wanted but she was always honest about the time it would take or how many sessions I would need to get it the way I wanted. When I asked her to take a size 1 razor to my sides, she did it. Shes an artist and blends colors, so Ive always felt confident to embrace her creative freedom. I'm a post-haircut crier. I do not enjoy haircuts and I put them off as long as possible until the ends of my hair are a brittle, snarled, knotty mess. After reading the recent glowing reviews I decided to bring my messy hair to Regis. Tanya looks like a rockstar, which usually predicts you're going to get a stylish cut, so I was excited. She looked at my hair, listened to what I was asking for, checked out two pictures I had brought and gave me her thoughts. My hair wash/head massage was relaxing and Tanya is easy to talk with. Before she started cutting she confirmed how I wanted it cut and the length I wanted it to be. My hair looks lovely. She even styled it to look like the photo. Rebecca and her team of hair artists are second to none. This location is always consistently awesome no matter who does my hair (but I usually go to Rebecca). I've always left the salon feeling like a goddess thanks to a pampering spa-like shampoo, conditioner (and sometimes deep conditioning if my hair needs the hydration), blow dry and spritz of hairspray. They use top quality products and never 'push' or hard sell anything. The team here is like family, and I can't imagine spending my hard earned money anywhere else. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! To add...Rebecca is a PRO at highlights. If you have very dark hair and want to add dimension but still look natural, go here. Nikki has an artists touch to touch up every speck of unwanted roots without disturbing the rest of your hair. I could go on and on. Appointments are a breeze, and the location makes it easy to grab some snacks afterwards (just upstairs from the food court). NICOLE ROCKS!! You know your stylist is bomb when all other stylists are coming to her with questions. I came to this salon on a whim as a walk-in after having such bad experiences at "fancy" "trendy" reeeally EXPENSIVE non-corporate salons, and was SO impressed!!! I was at my whits end, threw my hands up and was willing to try anything. Granted, this salon isn't cheap, (although it may be due to my very long, thick hair), but I was lucky enough to be paired with miss Nicole. Girl knows exactly what she is doing!!!! I showed her a picture and she recreated it like a modern day Picasso! I was so impressed with my cut that I returned a few weeks later for color, while also referring everyone I knew! When I went in for my color, all I had to say was "ashy blonde, NOT ombré, full highlight". I was nervous when all she said was "ok, I'm going to go mix your color" and no other questions were asked. But when we got to the reveal, I had never been happier! (Never doubt her genius!) She is fast, efficient and knowledgable! Not only that, but she dried my hair (with a round brush when I asked, no hesitation) and curled it making me ready for a night out! I've always been accustomed to stylists straightening my hair because it's less time consuming, but she took her time. I've honestly never been to a stylist that does EXACTLY what I want. If you choose Regis Windward, choose Nicole!! I'm leaving island soon and I only wish I had found her sooner. read more

Before seeing her I had so many bad experiences and haircuts. It seems to me that not many people know how to deal with my kind of hair: thick, full, wavy/frizzy, dark brown almost black, Polynesian hair. But Angie can handle it! Don't trust anyone else! Short bobs, long layered hair, angled bobs, side bangs, blunt front bangs, dark brown, blonde, red, highlighted, blonde ombré, purple/pink/blue ombré; girl I've had it all.
