The store itself is huge and located within the restored 1901 Denver Tramway Building. This building is all brick and just stunning to walk up to and into. They offer every type of equipment one would need for their selected sport whether it's hiking, climbing, cycling, camping, paddling, skiing, snowboarding or overall fitness. They also offer the option to rent outdoor equipment, provide a full range bike shop and ski and snowboard services. The store features a 47 foot tall climbing wall right in the middle of the floor and other unique decorations. I have never been in such a huge REI store but it was a fun experience. My husband managed to spend all his saved up gift cards (Ha! Ha!) Service was friendly and helpful from the staff. REI can always be a little on the spendy side but I always try to catch their sales. I love being a member and receiving my annual rewards. Parking is the only downer as it's only free for the first hour. After that you must pay and believe me, an hour is not enough time here. So glad we had the opportunity to stop in, shop and check out this historic location.

They patiently walked me through everything and I walked out with a board that I am very proud of and for a great deal. I learned a lot from them and you cannot ask for a better team. Kris took me through a tour of the factory and showed me how they make their boards from start to finish. Amazing quality boards, cool designs, and great staff. When I received it, although it's a beaut, I was concerned I had made an error since my riding style favors a slightly smaller board than I "should" ride and this would be the longest one I've ever owned. I sent them a chat at 6:30 their time on the Saturday night before New Years. I had a live person within 10 minutes, and they contacted the marketing director. A few questions and they confirmed that I should be fine, why the new board was a good fit, and assuaged any concerns that I had about the returning it for the next size down (which they were happy to do) I had three of the best seasons ever on my first Never Summer, and am stoked to add a new one to the quiver. Taking it out in a couple of weeks and can't wait. I have a couple of other stories about how they consolidated gear orders and refunded shipping without any fuss, the socks they sent me w/o charge in one of my orders, stickers galore, etc.

The agent said they never received the emails with photos, so would only make a note "customer is working on sending emails" as now it's MY job after paying $100 to prove I bought what I did that's already recorded Purcahse history in Dick's database, online in their website, and in email. Dick's will go chapter 11 if doesn't offer better customer service. E-commerce, retail, and warehouse staff ALL need to be more detail oriented and help customers in a more timely manner with solutions. I got accused of shoplifting from an ECOMMERCE online mailed order with a device on it. I never was inside a brick and mortar store, this is how Dick's website works, You spend $100 then can't wear what You got unless want to get arrested for alledged shoplifting.

You will need to use street parking or a public parking lot such as I did. It's really not bad at all to park away from the location and get out for a nice walk to the store. You will pass other stores and businesses that perhaps catch your eye for shopping. After finishing up at Patagonia I went to Denver Market for an ice cold beverage. The store lay-out for Patagonia isn't bad. It's clean and organized. Staff aren't so helpful. There were two staff members at the front register. Why one of them couldn't be on the main floor helping customers is a mystery. When going to check out at the register one of them pretty much ignored me then caught herself moments later. Management: please improve customer relations. Don't make interactions so transactional. I walked away with what I wanted but probably should have just used another retailer or distributor to get it. I'm in no hurry to return to this location.
