It was a whole vibe with low lighting , modern touches and such comfortable lounge chairs. Donna was the female who served me. She seemed very knowledgeable about how to better care for my skin and was thorough with each step she took. FACILITY: There's a utilitarian wet sauna (e.g., no aromatherapy), dry sauna, and hot & cold pools inside; a small lounge area is outside with what appears to be a jacuzzi. I say "appears" because I just happened to notice the jets. There was no sign identifying it or explaining how to turn it on. The wet sauna was off and there was no sign explaining how to turn that on, either. PERSONAL AMENITIES: You're given a nice robe and one towel. I was only told to bring a bathing suit, so I was expecting disposal spa slippers. Nope. I had to walk everywhere barefooted, including the locker area where people (naturally) had walked in their outside shoes. Ugh. You could pick up a small tube of hand/body lotion, a small shaving kit (disposable razor & tube of generic shaving cream) and/or a small vanity kit (tiny nail file, cotton swabs & cotton pad) at the sinks. There were no snacks or even drinking water available unless you had a massage -- then you were given a bottle of water when it was over. MASSAGE: This is the first time I thought to myself, while getting a massage, "This woman could easily kill me with her bare hands!" Her hands were that strong. She'd asked me if I wanted my massage "hard" or "soft," and I replied, "medium, and we'll see how that goes." Well, it went very painfully at times -- I had to tell her repeatedly to go softer. It's a week later and my shoulders still hurt with certain movements. SERVICE: The receptionist (the only person always onsite; the masseusses and such are called in when needed) was not very gracious when I asked her how to turn on the wet sauna and only reluctantly went back and did it ... so I didn't bother to request her help to use the jacuzzi. Clear communication, in general, was lacking. For one, I was told on the phone that a bathing suit was necessary for the saunas, but once I got there, was told I could choose to just wear a towel. I've read the other reviews, and I see that they offer a kamaaina discount. No one told me that, even though I said at multiple points (on the phone and onsite) that I lived in the neighborhood. BOTTOM LINE: I'll try some other day spa next time I want to pamper myself.

After that, I used the dry and charcoal rooms. The business was clean and organized. They had lockers for us to store our things in. The posted signs on the wall were a little confusing, but you can always ask the staff if you are unclear. They were friendly. She then applied a serum of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. The final application was sunscreen. While the untrained eye, probably couldn't SEE a difference after the HydraFacial, I could certainly FEEL the difference. Clean, fresh, and super rejuvenated! As a follow up, I came in for the Scultural Face Lift with Buccal Massage. This included lymphatic drainage (behind your ears) and microcirculation of my shoulders, neck, and jaw area. We made an appointment in advance, and admission plus the 45-minute body scrub came out to $100. I've only been to two Korean spas, and both times they were incredibly large, with at least four different hot and cold tubs, multiple steam rooms, a large alcove with a cafeteria, and different clay, granite, marble, salt, *insert any mineral you can think of* dry sauna rooms. However, this spa was much smaller and intimate, with one hot tub one cold tub, and three dry saunas/steam rooms. We were hoping to spend most of the day here, but with so little to do, we moved our body scrub appointment up. I think I spent less than two hours at the spa, but my friend enjoyed some nap time on one of the two pool chairs while I ate some food at the snack area. The lady who scrubbed my back did a great job because I was smooth and fresh like a baby afterwards. She also gave me a nice scalp massage while washing my hair. I definitely felt very refreshed after that. Overall, I personally wouldn't come back to this spa since it was much too small for my liking. We interacted with two different receptionists during our visit. The one who we spoke to in the beginning was nice, friendly, and accommodating, but the one we saw at the end was pretty unpleasant. My friend didn't realize tip wasn't included in the total since this was her first time, and the receptionist barked at her and insisted that she leave a 20% tip. I get it, leaving a tip is highly encouraged, but the tone and wording could've been a lot kinder. I also don't think a customer should be told that they have to leave a certain amount for a tip.
