I had a lovely experience at my first-ever prenatal massage with Thanya. Most importantly, I felt safe and comfortable. I laid on my side with support pillows, and only laid on my back for 5-10 minutes because I requested a face and scalp massage. The pressure was light, and not once did I feel like my baby or I were at risk. Thanya was incredibly sweet, nurturing, motherly, and warm. I adored her. I would recommend her to others, and hope to be back again before I give birth. My only complaint was that someone upstairs sounded like they were dropping heavy weights, and the sudden loud sound was jarring. But it stopped after a few times, and didn't happen again. I have been here twice now and both times have been SO great! I think this is one of the best massage places I have been too. The space itself is simple/straightforward, nothing too special, but the massage therapists are what makes Pure Life Thai stand out! The first time, I had a 60min full-body Aroma massage with Thanya. The second time a 30min neck and shoulder massage from Tucky to help my upper back pain. Both were sooo good. The massage therapists really listen to your concerns and provide a customized massage to help relieve pain and tense muscles exactly where you need it. This might seem obvious, but I have been to several other places where no matter what you ask them to focus on, they always give the same standard massage. I have bad upper back pain and I feel so much better after my massage that was really focused on the areas where I needed relief. I used to go to this place regularly for a Thai massage. I haven't been back since Covid. I loved it when I used to go, all the massage therapists were wonderful and the prices were very reasonable, $45 for a one hour massage. I went back after three years, I didn't realize ownership changed, and it seems like the quality of therapists did too! Aya was busy shaming the last person who left a $5 tip on an $80 massage treatment. I don't like when massage therapists do that. She said to the other client " you don't like my message? Everyone does and gives me at least a 20 percent tip". I found it rude!!! Anyway, my massage by Aya was mediocre. She either went too hard or soft, but I left an 18 percent tip anyway since I didn't feel like a confrontation. I won't be going back here! read more

I'm sorry to report a bad experience. I will say it was my first and last visit to this Spa. They have so many great reviews so I guess that I expected a more pleasant experience. First, it was a chilly day and they didn't have the bed warmed. They only have a thin sheet to cover you. I was cold the entire 90 min which made it difficult to relax. Additionally, they had a fan blowing, and it did not help at all. Second, the therapist stepped on my wrist joints which hurt tremendously and felt awful. Third, their Alexa disconnected at least a dozen times interrupting the music and the therapist, as she kept stopping to try to fix it. There was a good portion where there was no music at all. This was hands down the best massage experience I've ever had. The studio smelled amazing and the ladies all greeted me kindly and gave me snacks and water and offered tea too! Aya was my masseuse and she has the touch of an Angel. She was very attentive and I loved that she asked what type of pressure I wanted and what areas I wanted to focus on. During the massage her pressure was consistent, as I asked for medium pressure, and she checked in multiple times to make sure I was doing okay and if I wanted more or less pressure. I got the aroma massage and milk foot bath. The foot bath was so pleasant and definitely warmed me up for the massage as it was windy and chilly outside so I was coming in cold. The essential oils used for my massage were refreshing too! I loved that I left feeling stretched and relaxed and not tense and sore like I usually leave other places. I (barely) walked in with horrible sciatica pain on both sides of my body, but Thanya knew exactly what to do to relieve my pain. She's very strong, knew all the pressure points to hit, applied a lot of pressure where she needed to, but always checked in with me to be sure the pressure she was applying was not too painful. She applied both Thai and deep tissue massage techniques, and the combination of the two techniques did the trick! I arrived in Encinitas late last night, and after a full day of office work and airline fun was very much wishing for massage and movement to get rid of the knots and stresses of my travel day. I especially was hoping to find Thai yoga massage in the area, and was absolutely delighted to discover Pure Life was not only well rated but also happened to be less than half a mile from my abode! Their online reservation system made it very easy for me to book a massage for the next day. The spa was peaceful and quiet, and I was greeted efficiently and shown to my massage room. My therapist was very skilled, and I was 100% pleased with my two hour Thai aroma massage. If you haven't tried Thai massage before you are in for a treat! It is now $95, with no information given to me about the price change until after the service. Their website also still had the old pricing. Besides that I paid a lot more for the most recent massage, the girl didn't even do the aroma massage that I was expecting based on experience at Pure Life. It was actually pretty terrible. I feel they should have honored the old pricing that appointment and let me know next time it would be more. Thanya. Get her as your masseuse. I came in with my neck so tight I couldn't move. I slept wrong and had been under a large amount of stress. I couldn't even bend my neck. I came in at 7pm hoping to get someone to help relieve some pain. Tanya greeted me and could see I could hardly move. I am super grateful for her. She worked the knots out and slowly helped regain movement in my neck. She stayed an hour later and worked on me for almost 2 hours using hot stones, heat compression, stretching, you name it. I just can't say enough how much attention and care she took with me. Not only did I have the best massage I have ever had - and I have had a ton - she took away the pain and regained my motion. I slept like a baby. I drank a ton of water before bed and again when I woke because I knew I had lots of toxins to flush after all the extensive work she did. Two days later and I feel fantastic. Sometimes you just need a massage and its hard to get a same day appointment. We both went for the Aroma Massage which is a combination thai/swedish massage. ( I can't stand being cold during a massage) The massage was great. My husband's masseuse really worked on his knots and mine was also great. UPDATE: 2nd Visit I went for the second time and it was not as good as the first time. They ended the massage about 8 minutes short. I looked up at the clock at it was exactly 8PM but the massage started after 7PM, 7:08 to be exact.
