Every time when I come I always receive rude service! I came again and wanted to have 90 minutes massage for two people and they told me they are booked. I asked them if I can schedule an appointment for any other time. They told me to call (not sure why do I have to call if I am already there) I was calling 5 times and left a message, they never called me back. Massage was ok, but again with rude attitude and constantly asking for cash ONLY and remind about tips! Not sure how they can do a business with this rude customer service ! Made reservations 2 weeks ago to treat my sister for her birthday. We arrive five minutes early for our 2:30 appt to be be told they had us down at 3. Thirty minutes- not a big deal after driving from Mission Hills for 45 minutes...so we wait. At 3 when we expect to begin, a couple enters the spa. They state they have a reservation for 3:00. The receptionist decides it is their appt down in the books at 3 and we don't have a reservation. No apologies, no offer to make it right. I went in looking for a half hour massage during my hour lunch break. They said that they could do it, but that the hour massage was 49.99, however the half hour massage was only 10 dollars cheaper. When I mentioned that would be a waste for me to only do the half hour, I should do the hour and then leave when I need to, they said that wasn't an option. So if you can't do the full hour say you can and then just "have to leave" prior to your hour, don't tell them ahead of time, you'll lose 30 minutes of additional massage and only save 10 dollars. I hope to come back and actually get a massage but their lack of effort to be flexible with my hour schedule left a bad taste in my mouth, and seemed unfair, more like they just didn't want to work at the time I came in which is why I'm only giving them two stars. read more

Girls day at the spa! The three of us went for massage and picture this, we are all in our sixties, OK if I have to be honest one is in her fifties but we are all high maintenance! One of us has a spinal injury, then I can't be touched on my right arm from the elbow down, and we are all very picky about our massage! Spinal injury is nothing to mess with and the Lady was educated and knew exactly what should and shouldn't be done and my friend was extremely comfortable and could get some well needed relaxation. TV noise, people talking on their phones loudly in the hallway, masseuse stepped on my elbow and put her body weight into it (Ow!), masseuses phone was constantly buzzing, when I asked her "could you please silence your phone" she said "no," she was texting while massaging me, masseuse used hot stones and when she put them on my back they were burning hot and my whole body jumped. I went back after talking with the manager. They offered me a free 30-minute massage which I had with Anne. She did a very good job, so I was pleased. I probably would still never come back. Also, apparently the woman who did my first massage is no longer working there. What I don't like about this place is the way employees leave reviews on here talking about tips. LOOK, if you don't do a good job, don't expect to be well-tipped. That's how tipping works. It's not necessarily based on standard alone, it's also based on merit. Prices are very reasonable and the masseuse are very friendly and good. I have gone twice and both times have been excellent. I recommend the 1 hour foot massage, its the best! Wow!!!! I just got a massage here from Jack and it was one of the best I have had! The pressure was perfect, not too hard, not too soft, and he pressed all the right spots. I immediately felt safe with him and was already relaxed 10 minutes into him rubbing my head. He was super professional and had a rhythm that just completely unwound all my stress. Never again, the cashier charged us before the massage, when we finished, the cashier left home and never told the manager that we paid. As we were on the way out, they asked us to pay again. When they asked us to pay again, we really thought they were joking, but they were serious. After 10 minutes arguing with them, the cashier called and confirmed we DID pay. I've been to La Costa Massage twice. The first visit I came here for a couples massage with my fiancé. We arrived at La Costa Massage and the appearance took us a little off guard. This is not a fancy spa - it's older, has small rooms with no extra frills. Unlike other massage parlors that I've been to, they did not have us fill out a waiver describing where our problem areas where and which type of massage we would like. La Costa Massage showed us right into our room with no questions asked. We got settled in to our room and waited for a good 10 minutes for our massages to begin. My fiancé walked away feeling rejuvenated but my massage was sub par. I requested medium pressure, however, it felt as if the masseuse was lightly brushing my back. I told myself I probably wouldn't give La Costa Massage another shot. However, everyone deserves a second chance, right? I came back reluctantly. This is the closest massage parlor to my home and I was in a time crunch. I walked in, with no appointment and was greeted by Lisa. She walked me to my room and returned in a few minutes. I had low expectations given my first visit and was BLOWN AWAY. Lisa asked what pressure I wanted in addition to what areas I wanted her to work on. I don't know why people give a bad feedback. I think this place is okey. Clean and quiet, massage is on average. ( not the best, but that is okey. I have tried more than 10 different place in a year) I would say they are hardworking girls. If you have request to focus on you shoulder/ arms please tell them! They barely speak English but the front desk can help to translate. My back neck and shoulder feel sore so I told them to work more on those part. They listen to me and spend the most of time working on it ( I think they spend around 50min on those parts). So please make sure to give them a great tip! I give at least $10 for my massage. You should know that they get paid very little for doing the massage and rely on tips that you give to them. When you say they did a great job please make sure you also give a great tip. The reason why I mentioned the tips is because when I walk into the store, someone just finished massage. She said everything is perfect but only leaves $7 as tips. The most interesting thing is she said she paid more than 20%. Oh come on! 50 times 20% equals 10! 10 is more than 7. that customer refused to give 3 more dollars and ask the front desk to say sorry to her! She also says she will write a bad Yelp review. Excuse me?! Really? ! I feel embarrassed when I stand there hear the conversation. I know when people ask you to tip more is not a good experience, but If you give a tip on average( especially when you say they did a good job) I am sure they will not ask for tip. Wife told me to check this place out since she gets reflexology done there. I have had a few massages in my life and can firmly say this place was definitely in the bottom of order. The massage was decent and the reflexology was lacking but it served it's purpose. I brought cash to pay for the service (60 min massage and 30 reflexology, $75 cost) and they didn't have the correct change for the $90 I brought so I asked the receptionist for a $5 back and give the remaining $10 as a tip to the masseuse. After I was finished, I went to leave and the receptionist handed the masseuse the $10 tip... the masseuse looked at me kind of disgusted and said "kind of light..." and I said I don't understand. They both began to laugh at me and said they normally get $10 tip per hour of work and they both starred at me which made me feel uncomfortable and basically forced to give her the remaining $5 I had left over, which I did to get the whole time over with. I hope they enjoy it, I live right next to that place however my family will be going elsewhere moving forward where such awkward situations won't be created by employees providing a service to paying customers. read more

I made an appointment for a friend and I. They started 20 min. late and the guys hands smelled like garlic. I got the foot massage/reflexology and my friend got the full body massage. My friend said it was the worst massage she has ever had and not relaxing at all. The lady massaged her stomach (which is weird I think), then asked her to pay in the hall instead of at the front desk. They charge $1 for credit cards (which is not a big deal), but it is not posted and you do not find out until they already charge your card and go to sign. I mentioned they should post a sign saying they charge the $1 for credit cards. He actually said since I was "American" I should know they charge for a credit card charge. I said me being "American" (which he assumed), has nothing to do with knowing which stores charge you for credit card payments and which ones do not.
