During this visit, we enjoyed the prickly pear barbecue ribs served with Mexican street corn, pickled shallots, and cornbread. We also enjoyed a vegan Caesar salad, which is so yummy because it's not like other places where they remove all of the non-vegan items and leave you with just veggies, it's actually a vegan Caesar salad. And finally, we shared a Sonoran shrimp cocktail as a starter. Everything was absolutely incredible, I can't remark on that enough. We washed it all down with a prickly pear lemonade, which was super refreshing and tasty and a hibiscus meal, a little bit too dry and flavorless for us, but still delicious. I basically have zero to complain about, I love their service and the space and the food is absolutely incredible. The shrimp was a bit over blackened and charred, but once that part was scraped off was flavorful. The dipping salsa was delicious. The fried tortilla chips were a perfect compliment. Their drink menu is Spanish inspired. Here is what we ordered: - Chocomil - La Fresca (Strawberry Latte) - Tepache (pineapple spice tepache, piloncillo, pinch of salt) This was the most delicious strawberry latte I have ever had. Every sip made me so darn giddy. The espresso and strawberry came through equally. What surprised me were the fresh strawberry bits on the bottom and the interesting dusting of what looked to be strawberry powder on top. I've never seen that before. I appreciate the creativity. My son's Tepache was unique and refreshing. According to my son, Piloncillo is pure sugarcane juice that is boiled down to form a caramelized syrup. I'm guessing this makes the pineapple flavor less tart. And if you are a chocolate lover, get the Chocomil, it is insanely good. This is now my #1 favorite new coffee spot in Tucson. My corn cakes were absolutely delicious, and came with chipotle butter, and beans on the side. They had the exact right texture and a tiny bit of spice! My understanding is that they use frozen potatoes for the fries vs fresh ones but season them with a seasoning mix. The pumpkin seed-pistachio- sesame spread in the sandwich was called "tahini" on the menu but it seems like it was sesame seeds in it not ground tahini paste. The sandwich was really yummy and great for summer. Ordering the first round is at the bar counter but once you are seated after your first order you can order more from the staff. I hear that there is a line to order at the more popular times but there was not a line when I was there. They had lots of great looking baked good. One was vegan and gluten free. Great place to have food at while visiting the Tucson Museum of Art. They share a small free parking lot.
