Oh my gosh! What a hidden gem! The gals in the truck, Natalia and Alexia were so welcoming- sharing a bit of the backstory as well as a sample of cafe de olla. Natalia makes it herself using a family heirloom as the vessel. She also grows the chilis herself for the chingona. They partner with other local businesses for their baked goods (got here too late for the wood fire baked burrito- gotta get here earlier next time!) I got a slice of almond poppyseed pound cake that was absolutely amazing! Moist and lots of almond flavor! I got an iced horchata latte at Alexia's suggestion- it is light and refreshing. Trying to figure out how to come here more often!!! They told me I had to check out the shop inside (Alexia told me it gave Narnia vibes bc the entrance is very unassuming- she was not wrong!) Such a cute spot! I tried their horchata latte and it was so good , the perfect balance of that sweet horchata flavor with rich coffee. I also got to try a couple of their burritos and they were delicious! You order outside at the coffee truck but you're able to come into the shop to enjoy your drinks and foods. This place is a hidden gem! I can say with all the confidence that they literally have the BEST Horchata in town - they make it from scratch, no mixes, and the fact that they're large is 32 ounces makes my heart sing! The coffee cart and seating area outside is adorable and the dining area inside is decorated beautifully. Just a quick note the dirt parking lot directly in front of the location is rather small, but there is free street parking just around the corner on either side of the shop so don't let lack of parking stop you from going to check it out. The owner Natalia is an absolute doll and was so sweet and helped teach us about all of the different drinks. They do things ina classic and traditional manner with nods to both Mexican and Cuban culture everywhere I looked. What a beautiful little place! I've been here twice while visiting my bestie. I can safely say that this place is worth the 30 minute drive it took me to get here. All the coffee is Latin inspired and just sooooo good. Cafe de Olla is the most delicious I've ever had. Their outdoor seating is so cute. But the indoor is bigger and even nicer. You wouldn't think it is from the outside, don't be fooled by the rock driveway. The service is SUPERB, truly the most friendliest and kindest people. The owners are great and do a ton of events that bring the community together. They even have an indoor space where you can work, hang out, or even purchase some goodies from their shop. I love Chappopin and have quickly become a regular, given its proximity to my house. I'm not a coffee person, so I love that they have such a wide variety of teas and non-coffee options on the menu. My favorite is the Moroccan mint iced tea, but I've also really enjoyed some of the Red Bull and other refresher options. The breakfast burritos are also delicious- don't skip the salsa. They have other food options, including Lumbre bagels and a variety of pastries. On the weekends, Chappopin opens its indoor space next to the coffee truck and hosts book clubs, vendors and activities like dancing and Zumba. Ive been here twice and loved my coffee! Its the perfect blend of creamy and sweetness and overall such a unique vibe when you go visit! The cafe is a food truck but also has a establishment right behind it where you can sit down either outside or inside to enjoy your cafecito. Lots of art that is also for sale and overall just beautiful. So many cute things to look at when you go visit. Ive ordered the horchata latte and recently the playa which is a coconut macadamia based latte and have had the elote bagel and the machaca burrito which are a collab with lumbre pizza. Delicious! I visited the new location at 640 N. Stone. They now have an indoor area with seating and they have added more seating next to the coffee truck. I tried "Hasta la Pista" and it was delicious, this iced coffee has abuelita hot chocolate and pistachio and I kinda wish I would have gotten a bigger size. My wife and I absolutely LOVE Chappopin! We came where when they were on the South Side and fell in love with the vibe, the owner Natalia, and her Cafe de Olla (get it, trust us) and the Monte Cristo (get this too, especially if you like Cuban coffee - most "authentic" I've had outside of Key West) Every coffee drink we've had has been amazing, you can get freshly roasted beans, and at this new location she has had some amazing breakfast burritos with equally amazing salsa. Her new spot also has hand-crafted clay mugs and other ceramics from Mexico, and she said she'll be hosting dancing and other events soon. A greatly thought out concept. Takes me back to my roots drinking Cafe de Olla with a Concha my grandma would make.
