Sweet potato pie. WOW! Amazing
Mike W.

Pies pies and more pies! Delicious pies. We went one night and caught them exactly as they were closing up. The guy working was nice enough to let us in when we promised we knew what we were getting. We split one piece of pie (really I could eat about ten, but my body wouldn't like that as much as I would). The pie was delicious! We got sweet potato. I'd come back to try the rest of their offerings, or to get the sweet potato again.

Pure Love Pies is somewhat of an anomaly in the North Jersey area. Most shops do not exclusively sell pies, but more than that most shops [selling pie] don't care about your wallet. I've literally seen bakeries in North Jersey sell 10 inch pecan pies for upwards of $50, with some reaching as high as $70! The pie market is absolutely unreasonable and unregulated! Pure Love Pies is awesome, though, because it defies the odds. It brings balance to all this pie madness. It doesn't succumb to crazy, wallet-draining, practices for their scrumptious pies. Instead it offers delicious specialty pies at a fiscally responsible rate. While this review has been more a commentary on unsavory pie pricing, Pure Love Pies is really on par with some of the best pies I've had! We tried their pecan and navy bean pie. Both were excellent! The inside has got great seating too with some street parking outside. An awesome place to check out if you're into pie and want to push against predatory pie practices.

OMG!!! Decided to order this for delivery and glad I did. I must say that I've been craving a good sweet potato pie. After reading a few reviews I decided to chance it. As there are only a few places that can make a decent one. I usually pick up a few from the local fired chicken franchises, cause they really have that perfect pie. Pattie's pies are okay, but not a favorite of mine. I wound up ordering an 8" pie instead of the slice. Glad I did as that fist slice was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! I warmed up my small slice for about 20 seconds and it was so damn good. Silky, flavorful, creamy, sweet potatoes and a perfect crust. I must say that these simple ingredients went a long way, you can taste the love that goes into these pies. I also got some chocolate chip cookies and put those in my air fryer on bake for like a minute and man was that a good cookie with my super cold glass of milk. If the milk is not super cold, the cookies taste different. Moist and gooey these cookies were. Lastly, let's talk about the velvety and flavorful Banana Pudding which is one of the best ones I've tasted outside of my grandma's kitchen. Five stars because everything was perfect!!!

Navy bean and sweet potato pie, waiting for devouring.

How can I leave any review that doesn't show pure love for these homemade, all natural, delicious pies? I went by it years ago. I remember I stopped in to look, but I left no review and have no memory of what, if anything, I may have bought that time. So I had to return. I bought a couple of pies, had dinner across the street (see my MoBay review), came home, tried the bean pie. My goodness, but that is some authentically delicious navy bean pie. It is smooth, has that nice layer on top - it's almost creme brulee. And the #1 ingredient is navy beans. It's absolutely crazy but there's a reason every review mentions it. Now, I wanted to get a good pie cross-sample, so I also brought home a sweet potato pie. (There were others, and there were cookies and other desserts, but this isn't Pure Love Pies And Other Desserts, and I can't eat 5 pies in a week.) I have just opened and sampled... well, roughly half of the tater pie. I came across 2 strings so far, which both proves there are real potatoes and that there is almost no stringiness to it. Flavor is on point, neither pie was too sweet but they are both sweet enough to forgo ice cream or whipped cream - just slice and enjoy. Very reasonable prices. I hate to say it to that ice cream parlor we all know, but this is now the best dessert place in Brookdale!

I did not buy from this location but from a man that sells them in Newark I think. He is in the middle of a road..sorry I don't know off the top of my head..I bought the bean pie for $5. It was a size for maybe 2 people or 1 beast like me. I devoured it. Deliciously delicious. That's all I have to say. Get some!

The best desserts around. I usually get my bean pies from their vendor located on South Orange Ave in the great city of Newark. NJ.

NOW this is what you call a good ass bake shop. Walked in to three friendly regular patrons and…read moreowner. Smelled heavenly in here. We asked about all the flavors and ingredients (due to certain allergies). Good to know that everything on display could be eaten. Presentation of the baked goods were on point. It felt good speaking with everyone and what their favorites are. Shared a few stories and felt like a family atmosphere. We began talking about how i love oatmeal cookies; but with no raIsins. To my surprise, I was presented with an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie ; lord have mercy was it so so good. Gooey, fresh, flavorful just right. I had to get some to take home for the Netflix binge. The chocolate chip cookie also was awesome. Semi-sweet with a hint of goodness. You can tell that love and time go into these treats. The cupcakes are off the chain too. Moist, good frosting, right size. You can tell that they were madE from scratch and don't have the boxed taste like some other bakeries. That makes all the difference. Quality to me is Job #1 and this place has it. The carrot is also good and i normally don't eat it, but this one is irresistibly good!! Lastly got a good cup of coffee, steamed milk, great beans. Better than many of these other places. Overall, they have some goodies for everyone. This will be my new go to for my sweet-tooth!!

back in 2011 I heard about Willow & Olivia from Elvis Duran and the Morning show on Z100 here in…read moreNYC, for the longest time I followed them, ordered cake pops, truffles, cakes, you name it, I ordered it. Now 7 years later they finally opened their brick and mortar location. OH. MY. GOD. where have you been all my life? crumb cake, blueberry crumb cake, black and white cookies, cupcakes, croissants, danishes, raspberry bars, its pastry and baked goods NIRVANA! When I tell you I bought one to two of everything I kid you not. I literally bought out the last two crumb cakes and the person behind me groaned in agony! Sorry lady! you snooze you loose! they say a little magic in every bite? More like a little bit of heaven or is that fairy dust (not that naughty stuff!) either way this stuff is AMAZING! Crumb cake, so moist and delicious, makes a mess everywhere (the only way to eat crumb cake) the raspberry almond bar? you can taste the amount of care and dedication that went into making that bar. The espresso? Top Shelf baby. I could spend a lazy afternoon in here getting my sugar high on. seating is adequate for parties and the bathroom is baby friendly!! changing table and all! street parking is available and they take plastic (Square) Can not wait to come back and buy them out again!! Met the owner and she's probably one of the sweetest kind hearted people I know. I always love supporting small family businesses. This place is run with love and passion. The attention to detail in the fairy village, the fixtures, the pillows with the name on them, everything. I can't express how much I love this place! I made the trek all the way from Southern Brooklyn to West Orange just to grab some of these amazing pastries and let me tell you. WELL WORTH IT!
