    Key Lime Pie (medium)
    Josh W.

Got two premium sausage pastries and they were really good. Pleasant, mild flavor and the flakey pastry surrounding the sumausage was primo. 5/5 Main reason I went here was to snag a key lime pie because it's my GF's fave. Followed the directions for the medium size, which was to leave out of the fridge for an hour before eating. Unsure what went awry, but i left it out for 20 minutes and that seemed to make the pie disintegrate. Tasted OK but I think it could have been better had it remained a solid mass. 3.5/5

I made the short trek to Montclair with a friend to taste these delicious-looking pies. The shop itself is really tiny; you might be able to fit about 12 people shoulder to shoulder standing inside between the pie case/cashier station and the handful of shelves displaying British pantry supplies, snacks ("crisps" aka potato chips), and sweets like Cadbury's, Jelly Babies etc. There's no tables, so don't plan on eating in here. Back home, I followed the instructions the saleswoman wrote on the box and baked the pie for 25 minutes at 350F. It was deliciously packed high with apples, not the usual 1 to 2-inch-high pie. The (HUGE) Cornish pasty is the best of both worlds: a flaky pastry-like crust with a delicious savory, creamy filling of ground beef, potatoes, and carrots (and I think a bit of a gravy). TPS is a bit pricy, but very good and a unique option in our local restaurant scene.

The chocolate chip scone was the right combination of soft and crispy. We bought a Portuguese egg custard tart that was so delicious, that it didn't even make it to the car! Yummmmm

Returning customer. Good pie. But I personally may not ever return due to the service I received today. I hope that cashier / human at the front is okay.

Dropped by this small bake shop on the way home after a hiking trip during this warm fall weekend. The place was busy with a line out the door. The staff was super friendly and helpful with their own instructions on reheating pies by writing it on the box I ordered the small Key Lime pie. It was received frozen cold. It was one of the better Key Lime I ever tasted. It's best to eat when received but if not they recommend freezing it and eating it 10 min after. It was on the tart side but delicious bite after bite. Crust was a great thick crumble that balances the amount of topping. In addition, I also ordered the ABR pie, (apple, blackberry, and raspberry). The crust was good; buttery and not dry. The fruit filling was very tart. The apple was a little too sour for my taste. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and will definitely go back again to try the savory meat pies items.

The key lime pie was absolutely fantastic! Would definitely recommend. The Apple pie also had nice crust which I thoroughly enjoyed. The sausage roll was a tad disappointing as it was an actual sausage wrapped in pastry as opposed to the usual ground meat. Nevertheless it was still nice. I would recommend to call ahead to reserve your pies. Once you arrive for pick up there is one person at any one time policy. Enjoy!

Plus, my husband is a fan of their dairy-free chocolate chip cookies, so the Montclair location is a late-night haunt. Chip City is a franchise that specializes in baking cookies with a soft, gooey center. The Montclair location is on a busy main street. Street parking is difficult to find during peak hours. It's conveniently open until 1AM on weeknights and 3AM on weekends! When I walked in, I couldn't get over how cute and bright the store was. It's small with very limited seating. To whoever is in charge of the marketing, design, and logos... kudos to you! A very sweet and friendly employee answered all of my questions and helped me out. Since I came much later in the evening, I was worried there wouldn't be that many cookies available, but I was wrong. There were plenty AND they were still fresh too! They offer classic flavors as well as seasonal and specialty ones. Flavors are rotated weekly and you can check the website for the line-up. Dairy free options are available. There's a ton of creative flavors, so don't miss out! In addition to regular cookies, they also sell crookies (croissant/cookie hybrid), cretzels (croissant/pretzel/cookie hybrid), ice cream, and merchandise! Each cookie is around $5+, but trust me... they are dense, large, and can be shared with other people. Did I want to buy 4? Yes... but I have self control (sometimes) LOL, so I stuck with buying a classic Cookies N' Cream. It has a buttery sugar cookie base loaded with crushed chocolate cookie sandwiches and creamy white chocolate - basically tastes like an Oreo milkshake! What I love about these cookies is that they don't just taste like a giant blob of sugar. You can actually appreciate and distinguish between the different flavors and ingredients. If you prefer crispy/crunchy cookies, you probably won't be a fan. If you enjoy cookies with a slightly crunchy exterior, but a soft, warm, ooey, gooey (almost raw-like) interior, Chip City is for you! Every bite is sweet & decadent, but not overwhelming. Don't forget to sign up for their rewards program to get discounts and freebies! GET GOOEY!!!

***3 1/2 stars***…read more Yesterday I decided on a total whim to just grab lunch here before seeing Disclosure Day across the street. I've walked by a gazillion times, usually in the mid-afternoon or evening when the place is really jumping (at least based on the outdoor seating situation). This time around, I came for an early lunch around 11:30am when there were only a few other people sitting down and I had my pick of indoor or outdoor seating. I didn't get much of a look at the interior during my brief trip inside, but it seemed pleasant enough. Morally I didn't have much of a choice though but to sit outside at their communal picnic tables, given that it was sunny and 72. You do the math. As most of my solo eating adventures go, the service was excellent. It definitely helped that it wasn't busy, but both waitresses on the premises were super attentive and I ordered my meal literally within 30 seconds of sitting down. I wasn't on a hardcore schedule (my movie wasn't for an hour and 15 minutes) but I was in and out in probably 20-25 minutes, which is just wild for a legit sit-down meal. Top marks all around. I liked that they kept a bottle of tap at my table too; just efficient there. As soon as I saw gnocchi on the menu, my decision was made. I went with the gnocchi al pomodoro off the lunch entree menu, which was honestly just okay. This is usually a dish I really enjoy, and while it was clearly fresh (the chunks of mozzy are a nice touch) it was pretty bland and tasteless. It's extremely rare for me to look around for seasoning, but I did here (and didn't see any within range, so let it go). Honestly very surprising. The gnocchi itself was fine, but the pieces were so small it was actually difficult to eat/get them onto the fork tines. I had to scoop most of them up, and it was a slow process. Not the biggest deal in the world (the gnocchi was tasty in and of itself) but just a slight annoyance. The price point was fine; with tip, I paid a little over $20, which is on par for Montclair. Maybe it was just an off day/lunch, but I think the play is to come back for dinner with a bottle of wine and get a different dish. This place is very popular (during my brief meal, several people walked by openly declaring they were going to stop by later to eat) so perhaps a few grains of salt here, which would have been nice to add to my dish.
