The employees were disrespectful and could've asked my kid nicely to stop doing something

Back in October of 2012, the breeder of my first Old English Sheepdog, called to tell me there was…read morea young OES available in Ohio. We made the journey from Buffalo NY to Columbiana Ohio to pick the dog up. He was the saddest, he was filthy, underfed and smelled just awful. We were heartbroken at his condition. The very next day we took Dashwood to the groomers and made him feel welcome to his new home. I always found it odd that no one had claimed him while he was at the pound. Because he was such a good boy. Of course, we had a few hiccups, and he needed to learn manners. He had Harry to play with, a large, fenced backyard, good food and lots of walks. He was a very happy boy. He had one disgusting habit I could not break; he ate poop. I recently learned that that habit is a sign of a dog from a puppy mill. After I read that I knew where he came from-Eagle Cross Kennels. It made perfect sense, location, his appearance, unneutered, untrained, etc. Why is this kennel still breeding dogs after all of the terrible stories regarding the filthy conditions of the kennel and the atrocious condition of the dogs, no access to the parents, it is wrong, wrong, wrong. Please tell everyone not to purchase a dog from these greedy, disreputable people. Animals are suffering. Dash was picked up by the Pound at a busy intersection looking as though he was looking for someone. Dash was 13 years and three months when I had to let him go two weeks ago. My best friend and the best dog, despite his troubled early puppy start.

In December, my boyfriend drove to Youngstown from Columbus to pick up our Doodle, Tesla. He had…read morelittle to report in the way of negativity, but did acknowledge that the breeder seemed high volume. There is a huge difference between a puppy mill and a high volume breeder. Tesla is a well adjusted, healthy pup. He was almost four months when we brought him home which most people know can be problematic since puppies that old who are still at the breeder often aren't properly socialized. However we take Tesla EVERYWHERE and he is amazing with dogs, people, and children alike. He loves meeting dogs of all ages and size, is happy to greet any person he meets, and is gentle and not aggressive with children. Socialization in the first few months of a puppy's life is so important, and if nothing else, Eagle Cross did an amazing job of making sure Tesla was well socialized and in a healthy environment for those first few months. If you want to get a pup from a place where the dogs are kept in little wicker baskets indoors with four other pups who are groomed and trained, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a healthy Doodle that comes from an experienced no-frills breeder, Eagle Cross will do. There is a great interview on YouTube with the owner that has footage of the kennel. This establishment is extremely disorganized. When I went in to inquire, the owner was so…read moredistraught that it was pick-up time (though there was no one else there at the time), she could not tell me with certainty that my dates were open, nor could she answer my questions thoroughly, stating "her husband handles that." Papers were everywhere; the room was a mess, and I was refused a tour, because she would have to "move boards around just to get [me] back there." The lobby was thick with cigarette smoke. Her husband was to call me the next day to arrange for a look around. He called the next afternoon, telling me there was plenty of space, no problem, but couldn't get me in for 3 days after my first requested tour day. After scheduling, I asked him about the smoke, and he told me the dogs were in "enclosed rooms" so the smoke wouldn't bother them. The next morning, I got a call that they were booked solid the entire month, then was hung up on. From this extreme shift from "plenty of space" to "booked solid" in less than a day, along with his rudeness, I can only surmise it was due to my inquiry about the smoke that I was refused the tour and service. Do NOT go there. These individuals are not to be trusted. They are disorganized, rude, and lie.

I rescued a lab mix in May of this year and he has been going too. He originally had some behavior issues but has since gotten better since he has been attending daycare. I have been going to Dee and Ken for over a year now and my dogs couldn't be happier. My parents also take their Australian Shepard for grooming and she looks and smells amazing. Not to mention she is so wore out which is hard to do. I know they are much loved and cared for while I'm away at work. Thanks guys!
