I was in a foul mood. All I knew was I wanted a hot dog. Living it Lake Milton, good luck. So tricked wifey into driving me to Brighton hot dog shop. I have been to this location once before. I really like Brighton dogs more than Jays. Any location. Cranberry. Brighton. That one where rte 51 in PA gets on the freeway. I like them all. Came to the one in Salem, 2nd time, Saturday at noon. I DID NOT know they have late breakfast on weekends. I was tempted, but here is what me and wifey ended up getting... Bowl of home made wedding soup. Hot sausage sandwich, small fries, two dogs with chili and onions. All food was hot, freshly made, and delicious. The fries kicked butt. Seriously, home made fries, that came from fresh oil and were thin cut, and crispy. Cutting this short, because, just take my word for it, the mood I was in, I would have been sorely irritated if there had been ANY issues. All food hot. Fantastic service. Not only best dog shop I have ever been in, best Brighton I have been in. Worth the drive, as Michelin guide says, worth a special trip just to eat here! Update March 8 2020. Still GREAT! read more

This restaurant is one of the cleanest Dog Shoppes that I have been to. It looks like it may be new or recently renovated. The food was fresh and delicious and cured my cravings. The hot dogs were so good and the bread was soft. The burgers were pretty tasty but lacked condiments. They have a condiment bar so no big deal on that. The prices are always fair and the employees were very nice here. Almost through my goal of trying all of the Brighton Hotdog Shoppes around. read more

Brighton isn't Skyline & it's not Goldstar, heck it's not even Jib-Jab. But, it's not bad, & if your jonesen for a cheese dog you can do worse. It's helps that they have a connected Fo-Yo shop -- GG. Heck, they sell all sorts of food: burgers, fish, chicken, salads, & etc. My only complaint is that they can be a little stingy with the cheese sauce, especially with the fries. They should have layers of cheese, rather than just throwing a small amount on top, thus leaving a fair amount of your fries without cheese. The good news is that Brighton is starting to franchise out & we do not have any hot dog shops in Alliance - HINT HINT!! read more

Stopped here on a whim on Sunday night and decided to drive through, I love a menu that is super simple and this one is it! You will find your "all american" classics here, chili dogs, kraut dogs, fresh cut french fries and some more, I got a french fry, a chili dog and a kraut dog, it was like less than 5 bucks, the hot dogs are small so i'd say if you are buying for a family, get one of the family packs, super affordable and something for everyone, who doesn't like a hot dog? It's definitely no A&W but neither is the drive or the prices! We will go back! read more

2017-10-28 visit. MY visit here was good. The service was great and I gave my order and then they ask me to be seated and they would bring it out to me. They had my food to be quickly. I ordered a chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries. Everything was great except the sauce seemed water to me. wast as thick as other places and also my preference. becuase of that the taste was a little lacking. Not saying it was bad but I think could have been better. if it was thicker I probably give this place a 4 star. by the pics it seems the chili sauce should be thicker so maybe today it was a little lacking in this. I will probably re-visit this place in the future and give it another chance. read more

This is one of our favorite Hot Dog Shops. We live about 20 miles away but run here for a good hot dog and fries. The owner is great, the place is clean and we usually go next door to Kaden's for the best Frozen Yogurt and Ice Cream. ( With All The Toppings, too! ) For a nice meal that does not break the bank . . . try both locations. They are owned by the same family and there is an adjoining door. I really liked this place. It's next to a yogurt shop so save room for dessert! They have a simple easy menu hot dogs or hamburgers. They have salads too if that's your thing. The best though? The cheese fries! Or they even have chili cheese fries for your liking. They have soft drinks and even milk shakes! My chocolate milk shake was yummy! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This is my husband and my favorite place to go! We love their food. On saturdays and sundays they have a "sit down" breakfast. It is absolutely wonderful. We love the omelettes, the amount of home fries you get are gigantic! Their hot dogs are very good. They have a great variety of toppings to pick from. They also have wonderful salads, soups (the wedding soup is to die for), burgers, fries, and more! I have never been disappointed coming here. The family that owns it is so sweet too! Had breakfast/lunch there on a Sunday. They serve you on Sat. and Sun. from 7-1 pm. which is actually kinda nice. A change from the "fast food" atmosphere. My husband had an omelet and said it was great. The home fries were homemade/fresh. Daughter had a burger and said it was very good. My Son had french toast and ate it all which is unusual for him! I had the grilled chicken salad. It was good as well. As it was someone's birthday in the staff, they were giving out free pieces of birthday cake. Putting all this aside...I have to commend them on the cleanliness of the place but most off all the kitchen! It is in view at the order counter and I've never seen a more clean facility. It is all stainless steel and shines! You don't see that very often! I would recommend this place if you are in the Salem, OH area. read more

Absolutely the worse hotdog shoppe I've ever been too. Cheese sauce is watery, if you get a kraut and cheddar dog all you basically get is kraut because they barely put any cheese. Honestly if you want good hotdog shoppe go to east Liverpool this place is a rip off joke. read more
