I found Brandy this morning while searching Yelp. Its been a few years since my last sugaring and my regular go-to is booked out through next month. I'd decided it wasn't meant to be but then Yelp happened and upon searching Pure Sugar's site she had an opening at 4pm today. I was apprehensive but all her reviews talked about how sweet, personable and how keen her attention to detail was. For once the people spoke truth!!! Brandy is AMAZING!!! Waxing lady bits is personal business and can be traumatizing with the wrong hedge slayer in there just rip'n up weeds like they not attached to a million nerve endings! I normally take a bottle of tea tree soothing lotion and slater it on in the car after Sugaring. I'm out of habit and forgot today so I was worried how my drive home was going to be. I worried for nothing, Brandy even did the deep breath in strong exhale moments for the tough spots without me even saying anything or asking for those pauses pre-lift. Her sugar was buttery soft and warm and she knew the right moment to change her ball. Ugh I can't stand when someone keeps trying to use a sugar ball turned cold and hard on me, that don't feel good mam, stop it!!! Not only was she clearly intuned she was thorough, she got her inspector gadget magnifying light and tweezed the rebellious kids right out. Lastly, I forgot to ask her what it was but she rub something on my skin and it simmered down so well that I didn't need to apply anything when I got home!!! Normally you have to pay for any kind of soothing cream for after care but Brandy obviously gets that it should be part of the service Plus what better way to guarantee return customer than making sure they have as comfortable of an experience as possible! I just went to Pure Sugar last Friday and had my appointment with Jessie. I only began sugaring this past May and was looking for a place closer to home. Jessie was right on time and did a great job on my underarms and half leg! She also did a couple extractions on my ingrown hairs and plucked some of the baby hairs. My underarms were nice and clean! I visited this place through a groupon the first time with Emma and after my session, she informed me my second visit would still have the groupon promotional price. I was shocked since most Brazilian sugaring locations I've purchased through Groupon would offer me packages deals or inform me of their original price right after my redemption. Emma was very sweet and easy to talk to. Definitely didn't make me uncomfortable. My second visit was with Brandy and she informed me the reason for the second promotional value is for clients to see better results. If it's your first time sugaring, you won't see a drastic change until maybe your second session due to the different hair cycles you have (also depends on your personal hair growth and all that). Brandy is very sweet and personal which I love. After my conversation with her, I could tell she is very big on customer service and responding in a prompt matter! It's taken me a long time to find a place to trust and now I do my maintenance sessions with Pure Sugar Salon because these ladies make me want to come back. I'm also big on responsiveness (I have 2 expired groupons because the sugaring studio I purchased from never returned any of my emails or phone calls....) and they also have my business because they reply within the same day. Her Suite here at Sola #27, is very inviting and relaxing which I think is important for an appointment like Brazilian sugaring. :) Jessie made me feel at ease. I have been to a few sugaring places and a lot of waxing places, but I loved Jessie's attention to detail and client. Also, I must note how CLEAN her suite and setup are - YES, very important. The large towel you lay on is SO soft, it's more like a towel blanket. The experience reminded me of a spa! Becca is AMAZING! I have had regular wax, sugaring, and even laser, but I have NEVER had half of the time of any of those sessions even be what Becca was able to do. Becca got it done so fast and even went above and beyond what most others do! I am 100% coming back because my god she was phenomenal to say the least. Please avoid!!! I would give this place zero stars if I could. 0/10!!! Of my 7 years of getting a Brazilian sugar, this is by far the worse experience! My appointment was with Emily. It was the most painful and unsanitary experience ever. Emily is rough, messy, and unsanitary. I was in an out in less than 15 minutes. As I entered the room, Emily asked me to take off my clothes and lay on the bed. I was not offered a wipe to freshen up. I noticed the bed did not have a new towel or parchment paper for me to lay on. From what it looks like, everyone is laying on the same sheets! How gross and unsanitary is that given how we are laying there half exposed?! I hesitated getting on the bed so she told me a second time that I had to take off my pants. As soon as I got on, she got started right away. Boy was she rough! She was ripping the sugar off aggressively and flinging it everywhere. I was complaining that it was so painful the entire time. I can usually tolerate pain really well and I only do sugaring, but boy, I could not handle the pain she was inflicting on me. Every time she put baby powder on, she just tossed it on messily. The powder even got onto my shirt! How is that possible?! The pain is not even the bad part! The part that disturbed me the most was how unsanitary Emily and this place are! By the time she was done with the sugar (thank goodness!!!), she grabbed a towel from a hamper, soaked it in water in the sink, and placed it onto me. This is my sensitive private part we are talking about here and you use a dirty towel!? Excuse me?? I felt so violated and gross! After that, she quickly and messily put an ointment on for me and told me I was done. I could not get out of there quick enough! I was shaking as I was leaving the place because I was in so much pain and so upset from my experience. Hours after my appointment, my skin was still irritated and red! It was swollen with bumps all over the place. I was freaking out! Never had I had a problem with sugaring--that is how rough she was! The next morning, my skin looked like I got a rash! Still red and bumpy! I wanted to be bikini ready, but guess not! I am so upset and gross out by this experience. I am writing this review so no one else has to endure the pain and unpleasant experience that I did. Sugaring should not hurt! At least not that much. Never coming back to this place! read more

Small but immaculate room, beautifully appointed, comfy table, never felt closed in. Service: Jessie was utmost professional and my brows have never looked better. UPDATE: the owner and Becca reached out. The owner left a message and I returned her call and also left a voicemail . My call was not returned and the one call was their only reach out. Found this place on Yelp and was persuaded by the reviews and decided to book. I get waxed regularly, and pretty familiar with how the process goes. My initial booking was awesome! The lady that booked the appt was super nice and got me in same day! So, prior to my appt Becca let's me know that I can come earlier if I'd like because she finished the last appt early. So, I go, place is nice, and I'm assuming I was the last client because I sort of felt rushed. I came in she said lay here and butterfly up. Not much conversation aside from asking if I've had a Brazilian before. I'm laying and the application hurt worse than the actual pulling. Now, this is supposed to be gentler than waxing (so I've heard), and this was my worst experience thus far. I'm not sure if she's heavy handed or like I mentioned, rushing but I was not prepared for the pain. She didn't do a "starting now, breathe in" or anything. I was mid sentence and felt the rip! At some point I even yelled out "No" and that's never happened before. I think it was the lack of being gentle that made my experience here less appealing. The aftermath I was sore to walk. That's never happened before either with waxing. I have a little red patch that looks like a burn on my bikini line but plan to watch it before assuming. It's red and sensitive to touch. Again, after waxing literally the last two/three years this is the first time it felt so bad! Sugaring is supposed to be a healthier alternative but at this point I'll go back to my wax lady for the quality customer service, patience, and her gentle approach. I'm a creature of habit and should've went with my first instinct to wait for my usual waxing studio to open. I've applied aloe Vera gel to what appears to be a burn. I even texted the technician letting her know this has never happened before. She said that she could tell I'm sensitive to pain (who's not in that area), and that it's normal to be this sore and sensitive. Waxing never had me feeling like this. Ever. Hurt so bad, and for someone who goes regularly is sort of a big thing for me to say. She mentioned she was trying to get me out fast but that's not what I wanted. The application process, she took large sections off and it was just, not the experience I was hoping for, for my first sugaring. Aside from the above, she was friendly when she did speak, and the lady thank booked me was nice as well. Overall, 2 stars. read more
