I love this company's use of high quality materials and like their formulations but they are completely, totally, utterly unreliable and not trustworthy. They are constantly running out of their most popular formulations without notice, trying to force substitutions that do not accomplish the same goals for patients or providers. Very, very unreliable and will make you look bad to your patients if you are a practitioner and will have you over and undermethylating as a patient or direct use. I've used Pure Formulas for a little over 3 years. For the first 18 months I received my products at a good price and had no problem with the automated delivery. After the initial period, however, the automated delivery just stopped. It showed up on my account, but the products never shipped. I called to inquire and was assured the products were shipping the next day. But they ever did. My card on file was also not charged. Last week (about a year and a half after auto delivery vanished) I logged back into the account and cancelled the auto ship. The account still read my next shipment was scheduled for over a year ago. When I cancelled the autoship, I made a new purchase (just a one-time purchase). Today after 7 days and the order not being shipped (it was an estimated delivery of 5-7 days) I called to inquire. After a long wait for a person at customer service I was told that they could not order an expedited replacement until a total of 7 business days had passed. Since I ordered on a Friday and inquired on a Friday, they could not take action until the following Wednesday (11 days after ordering). If I did not receive the unshipped order by Wednesday I was welcome to call back for a replacement. And no, there was no way to automate shipping the order, but the customer service rep offered to put a sticky note on her computer to check the account and if I had not received the unshipped order in 2 additional business days (from Friday today to Wednesday next week) she would call me. So no, I won't be placing any more orders with Pure Formulas. Too many problems with their supply chain/shipping and order process. Much easier to order elsewhere. read more

I had not ordered from Pure Formulas in years due to bad customer service experience and slow shipping. However, Vitacost was out of my protein powder, so I placed an order with PF. After two weeks, my order showed as not even having shipped yet. I sent an email asking about the order status and when it would ship. They offered to cancel the order - which I should have done. However, I asked again - when will it ship? Afterall, I wanted the product. No response to that second email. A week later, still hadn't shipped so I ordered elsewhere. Then I went to cancel the order and it said "delivered" which clearly it hadn't been delivered. I clicked on "problem with order" and put in my cell phone number for a call. Five days later - no call. I saw that I had been charged for the order. I found an 800 number and called it. I tried to explain the situation, but the operator kept interrupting me. She then put me on hold for five minutes! Finally she said they would refund my money and cancel my order. She still couldn't tell me whether or not it ever shipped. I hope I get the refund. After hundred of dollars in purchases- They just lost me as a customer. Thorne Research (a company that makes high quality supplements) and their own representatives told me their nutritionist could help me with questions about supplements. I sent an email to the address they gave me- it was ignored. I called and Angelique said the nutritionists had gone for the day. So I sent another one- 15 min later the "nutritionist"- or someone- opened the email I sent- but they were supposedly not there. Today I got an email from Angelique that the nutritionist told her to tell me I should contact my doctor. Wow really? What kind of "nutritionist" can't answer basic questions? Other sites have nutritionists that actually help (Needs.com for one) And their wait time when I call is ridiculous- not less than 15 min- every time. read more

I ordered 3 different items, but on the third item I asked the cust. rep. if they had a liquid in it and she said there was one. Never mentioned that it was a homeopathic instead of an actual extract. I took a few drops when it arrived and something made me use a magnifying glass and look at the back of the bottle and saw it was a homeopathic. I called and asked if I could exchange for the non-homeopathic and I would pay the difference. Manager said no it had been opened. Liars. First time ordering from this company. Ordered 9 days ago, never received tracking for shipping, have spent over three hours on hold (not exaggerating), have sent 2 emails inquiring of the status of my order. When I finally got a hold of somebody on day 9 they said the package shipped and got sent back because my address was confusing to USPS. I get packages every day so that's not the case. That is a lie! And she didn't have any answers for me as to why I had received no tracking update information at all. I believe they did not have the product in stock as it is sold out everywhere due to the coronavirus postponing like other to ship on April 6th when the manufacturer of the product I ordered will be able to restock their suppliers. (Had to call the manufacturer for accurate details.) My order arrived incomplete (over $300 of product incomplete,) but they emailed me the "your order has been delivered" email, which did not say anything about the missing items. I was charged for the full order. Their web site "talk to a representative" service isn't working. I was on hold for 40 minutes to speak with a customer service person on the phone, who was weirdly un-customer service like- as if I was bothering him or being rude with my explanation about what happened. He said the product was sold out, with no explanation as to why I was charged for the full order or why the company didn't notify me, or why the company sent me an email saying the order was complete and delivered.... He said the refund would appear in an hour and a half. Five hours later, no refund so I went to PayPal (how I paid for the order) and used the process there to report the missing products. The refund did come. I dont appreciate how this company handled something as normal as an out of stock item. It happens, but it needs to be handled appropriately, fairly, professional, etc. Never again. read more

I used to do a lot of business with Pure Formulas. Not anymore. I recently made a purchase in which the company sent me an extra bottle of a supplement I ordered. According to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) I am under no legal obligation to return the item or let the company know I received an extra, but I did anyway so they could update their stock. I was expecting to be told, 'thank you for letting us know and please keep the item!' I guess I'm used to Amazon and Nordstrom customer care. But that was not the case. I was told I needed to return the item to them or be charged for it minus 10%... excuse me?! You cannot legally charge my credit card without my permission and I'm under no obligation to send the item back to you! I returned the item anyway which took several days to do and was a pain. I called customer service a week or so later and explained again the situation and that I was unhappy with their 'customer care.' The only thing they offered me was 300 rewards points which was equivalent to $3.00. No thanks. I will not be doing business with them anymore. Very bad return process, spanned 2 months and they will not refund us. It is $20, for one unopened bottle only. Getting the return label to took an unexplained several weeks. They acknowledged they received the product by email, but never sent the PayPal refund. This was before CV19 had its effect. HSA and FSA cards are not accepted at all. I've called twice, earlier in 2020 and again today, Nov 12 2020, and they do not intend to accept these cards despite when customers have doctor's notes and prescriptions to use supplements on HSA and FSA cards. Be very careful when you receive your purchases. They sent me the wrong item and since the bottle looks similar I almost used it. Not good since I need the correct supplement for my health problem. I was a first time customer at which time I ordered three products totaling just over $72. A couple of days later I then received an email saying a partial shipment was on its way. The partial order did arrive promptly total just over $19 of my entire charge of $72 to my Amex. After a couple of weeks I hadn't received the majority of my order and attempted to call their "friendly" customer service and waited for over 20 minutes and no one picked so I hung up and frankly forgot to follow-up again. Then last week I received my Amex bill and noticed the entire charge, I logged into the sellers website noticed they cancelled the remaining order at the beginning of October yet there was no corresponding credit. It wasn't until I contested the charge and Amex reached out to the seller that I then was issued my $52 refund. Please buyer beware check you credit cards when it comes to this company god only knows how many people this happens to without the buyer even knowing it. Although I use the yelp website to find vendors with great success I signed up for an account just to write this review. Pure Formulas is awesome and they are definitely my go-to site for all of my thyroid supplements and vitamin purchases. I order online and in less than 48 hours I already receive my purchase delivered to my mailbos. I mistakenly ordered the wrong pills in one order (my fault) and I let them know and they emailed me a shipping label to send the item back at no cost to me, no hassle and immediately reimbursed me my credit once they received the returned product. I think their customer service is awesome and the vast variety of vitamins, supplements etc.. available on their website caters to all of my needs. I highly recommend them and just recently told my brother to order all of his protein supplements from them so hopefully he too will be a happy customer soon. read more

Not sure if this company is trustworthy. I ordered some probiotics & they immediately added on $25 on for "cold shipping". I was impressed at first since most companies don't worry about keeping them cold. Unfortunately, when my package arrived there was a styrofoam cooler with warm "cold pack" inside. But the cold pack had no condensation on it. If it was put in frozen, there would be condensation if it had defrosted. My guess is that they charge $25 & just add a cold pack to the package to make it look like they did due diligence. I called about this and was told that the supplements were received in 2 business days so the efficacy was fine. If that's the case, why not just Express them w/o the extra packaging? If you want to save yourself time and headache please stay away from this company!! I ordered a probiotic from them and clearly marked it's one time shipment! But it doesn't matter because they will still ship you and charge your account monthly!! On my 1st order I asked to ship the item without cooling pack, when they sent my second unwanted order they added the cooling pack and charged me an extra $25.99 for it! I have had good experiences in the past but it this time. I use Thorne Research products that work for me. The shipping didnt go as planed and the customer service is non-existent. I want USPS shipping 2 day priority, we'll they shipped it 3 day UPS. Guess what nobody was home when UPS showed up so they didn't deliver my package. Pure Formula didn't notify me of the change in shipping and UPS dropped the ball by sending me an email that it was delivered. I had to check UPS website to find out my package is in limbo. Only once did I have an issue with a product, which they gave me a full refund for, along with covering the cost of return shipping. Their prices are competitive. They offer free shipping. The ingredients of every supplement are easily found on each product's page. I love their search function which lets you narrow your search criteria by strength/dosage, serving type (e.g. tablet, capsule, etc), amount per bottle, price, etc. I greatly prefer to purchase from PureFormulas, rather than Amazon or Walgreen's. read more

Best prices for vitamins and free shipping - what more can u ask? One of the vitamins upset my stomach and they sent me an email for free return shipping and promptly credited my account. My post office was unable to deliver my box of vitamins due to the road in front of my house being repaved and returned them to the company. I called Pure Formulas and told them I really needed the vitamins and they overnighted them through UPS. They are awesome and I will continue to use them! read more
