This is my home gym. Bathrooms & showers have always been dirty, but NOW? They're filthy. Urinals look like they haven't been scrubbed in weeks. The smell is terrible. Secondly, I know that we've gotten some new machines, but why is there no leg extension machine on the top floor? read more

I enjoy going to this gym. It's clean, well as clean as a gym can be and people don't hug the machines. However this locations staff really make the space they are kind, supportive and fun. They often go around wiping equipment and are open to help. The locker room is super clean and in really good condition. There are lockers available to use but you have to bring your own lock. There are snacks and beverages available to purchase. On some Wednesdays they do challenges and you have an opportunity to show off your strength and win some beverages. We won some drinks for doing pull ups. read more

I prefer this location compared to the one in Canarsie because there's less ppl hogging up the machines. Its also quieter which I love. It is not really big parking can be sn issue though. The workers are nice and helpful. read more

Why do they make it so cumbersome to cancel your membership, especially during Covid? Contact the better business bureau to report the fraud. This is in response to Blink's response to my review: No, you don't try to make it transparent; you don't make it transparent at all. I had to go through several searches to find out how to cancel. It's not even an option on my app/account. Furthermore, during this pandemic, you should permit email cancellations in all states where you operate. To have to go to the post office to get certified mail sent to you (because in-person cancellation at the gym isn't an option anymore) during this time shows how much you value profits over people. read more

I canceled my membership with Blink Fitness Gym yesterday 8-31-22. I refuse to stay at a Gym or any business that allows another member to physically hurt me anyone else and turn a blind eye and pretend that the member did not assault me. I was physically hurt when the weight the Blink member was using in the wrong place of the gym hit me hard on my right wrist. To me the Blink member intentionally hit me because he did not apologize to me. He did not stop using the weight when he saw me approaching and trying to get out of his way. He knew that he hit me, he stopped looked at me and continue to work out. The Manager who is a flake told me that he looked at the video and saw that I was hit on the wrist with the weight the member was using in the wrong area of the gym. I reached out to Blink Management who as usual ignored me. What I know for a fact that if I, was of another ethnic background someone would have contacted me. I refuse to stay at Blink Fitness to see that pompous member, who did what he wanted to a female. That members privileges should have been taken away for a week, Gym safety guidelines should have been given to him, have him sign a gym safety guidelines, after hurting me, as a result, he would be careful; But nothing was done by Blink Management. In the future, anyone who knew that I attended Blink Fitness and ask me "should they join that Gym". I will tell them NO, OR GO AT YOUR OWN RISK . What I see and understand is Blink Fitness believes that the small fees that is charged to join and maintained your membership is nothing, so Members, District Managers, Managers and Staff CAN DO AS THEY WANT. I have been going to Blink Flatbush 2016. I've had minor issues but nothing as horrifying as this. Please excuse my grammatical errors because I am still a bit shaken up and I'm trying to think straight. Blink's staff since I have been there has been pretty friendly and helpful but not today. I worked on the July 4th and rushed to the gym because contractually I have until 7pm before it closes to work-out. By 6:30 I hear an employee yell "the gym will close in 15 minutes"! I thought this is odd, I have until 7pm. I could tell he was new because he screamed this on each floor. He also sat on the work-out bench and played with his phone for 15 minutes. I continued my work-out. By 6:45 he screams the "they gym is now closed"! What!! I tell him, "I have until 7pm to work-out". He says if I stay till that time, I will be locked in!!! Yes you heard it right, I will be locked in the gym for leaving at my contractual time of 7pm. I was so shocked, I didn't know what to think. I have never been threatened to be locked in a building. I started to then think about my safety. It's unbelievable to think, that I just wrote that statement about a gym. I hear yelling in the background, I take my head-phones off and another new employee Amanda Cruz is telling a (Paying Customer!) he needs to leave now. I look at the time it's 6:50pm. She is also yelling at him as well. I tell her it's on our contract to be hear till 7pm. She comes near me to tell me, she doesn't care. She also states "I should have come earlier"! Yes ladies and gentlemen she said that to me. Now they are both arguing with me and I told her, I would be speaking to her manger tomorrow. She then tells me "I'll be there!". I was very happy another gym member was close to me or I would have felt very unsafe been yelled at by two employee, forcing me to leave the gym. She then starts cutting the lights on and off as I am leaving. What if I fell because it got dark really quick. When I get to the front desk, I ask the guy to write down both their names and give me the corporate office's number. The guy who was yelling at me comes to the desk and tell the another guy "don't give her my name or the corporate office number!". I was so shocked because the guys throws the paper at me and tells me he doesn't want to have anything to with this. I don't normally write a review like this but I am doing this so something will be done. Also that no other person will be treated in such a threatening manner and feel unsafe in a gym. read more

I have been tussling with Blink for almost a year now over a personal training charge that is showing on my balance. I went into the gym in October 2023 and spoke to a representative in-person, I told them that I wanted to cancel the personal training sessions as they were on auto payment. The person I spoke to said that they would cancel the service. They dropped the ball and did not take care of it and I was charged the following month. I called and went to the gym and they said to contact member services via email which I did. Member services keeps asking me to provide them with a copy of my signed cancellation form, a receipt from my final payment, or a certified letter receipt. What they can't seem to grasp is I have been dealing with this since October 2023 and if I had this I would've provided it to them months ago. The employee dropped the ball and did not have me sign anything nor did they provide me with anything. I trusted that they took care of this and that there was nothing further for me to do. I simply want this negative balance removed from my account. I don't want personal training sessions. I don't want them now or for a later date. I want it be removed and for me not to be held responsible for an employee who dropped the ball. read more

The Blink on Flatbush has the most unprofessional staff and very poor customer service. The staff can't answer simple questions or give you the wrong information. It took me almost 1 year to have my issue resolved and they took $420 of my personal money and never gave it back. read more

There is a slow and steady growth in the fitness landscape in my neighborhood. When I first moved here 5+ years ago, I joined Kensington Fitness. It is a small no-frills gym that is nearby and had good hours but had bad management and a cleanliness problem. Then I joined Ditmas Fitness which was also small but felt like a community hotel gym. Then sadly it went downhill. At the beginning of this year, I joined Blink. Very solid so far. I have been visiting this Blink location 1-4 times a week. Mostly I run here when the weather is bad, and I use the weights or weight machines. They keep the place very clean. Hats off to the daytime cleaning man making his rounds. I know it's a tough job, but I'm so thankful for him being there. He wipes down the machines and does laps with the backpack vacuum. This blink doesn't seem to every get so crowded that I'm annoyed. The staff does a solid job in maintaining the weight machines and treadmills, and they have just about everything I would want in a no-frills gym. I find it funny they keep playing food network on the TVs - is that supposed to motivate us? My only wish is they could have a towel service (for an extra fee and that would be ok) and better soap/ shampoo in the showers. read more

After overpaying at 24 Hour Fitness and not using my Planet Fitness membership due to inconvenience, I finally decided to try the 1 Day Free Trial with Blink last week. I often go to the gym early in the mornings (between 5:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.) to get it out of the way and avoid the after work rush crowd. I'm a beginner in the gym. All I really search for are clean, available, working machines, and open spaces to do a workout. Everything was accommodating except the open space. It's super small upstairs and easy for the limited spaces to be unavailable. Another off the checklist, The gym was clean and staff was friendly. My only dilemma was that they don't offer towels. I assumed that because they had showers, you would at least find complimentary towels. Apparently they sell towels, but only the small towels you'd use for a sweat rag. It was so inconveniencing. Luckily I live not too far and could walk home to shower and head to work. Overall, the gym is nice but quality wise, I think Planet Fitness offers the same and therefore will probably just stick to my membership with them. read more

The gym closed in March due to the pandemic. I tried to cancel my membership, but there was obviously no one there. I tried calling their corporate customer service number, but no one answered. I finally gave up and told my credit card company to deny any attempts by them to charge me money. The gym stayed closed for six months. Apparently, they decided to reopen, and now they are threatening to send my account to collections because they think I should have continued to pay them after they were closed for half a year in the midst of a humanity-altering crisis during which they were unavailable to process my cancelation. These people are literally the scum of the earth. Also, the gym sucked. If you want to run, the park is ten minutes away, and the gym is just a bunch of treadmills. read more

Pretty solid gym. Plenty of cardio equipment and the upper floor is pretty spacious & well-lit during the daytime. Obviously, it gets pretty crowded after 5pm, but it's still pretty manageable compared to the Boreum Hill and Manhattan locations. The staff is also really friendly, and the crowd is pretty age, race, and gender diverse as well. I've never experienced an issue with cleanliness. Overall, you've won me over! read more

Wait I haven't yelped about this yet??? This gym is great. Because its owned by equinox, you get a tiny bit of luxury without the $125/month price tag. The space is large, there are a lot of machines, a good sized locker room and plenty of machines. Pros: - lots of machines. They recently moved some of the leg machines downstairs to the foyer, just in case you are looking - a good place for weights. Initially they only had one set of weights, now they have several sets of small free weights and moved the other free weight section to another part of the upstairs. Its a bit more spacious - tvs at most workout machines, if not you can hook upto the many that are at the front of the room on the 2nd floor - always clean locker room and shower Cons: - like all the other Blinks, there are no towels. Im not used to anything so I don't know what it feels like to waste clean towels. Bring your own...or shower at home. It's a neighborhood gym people. - the music is soooooo loud. That's my only complaint. You have to blast your own music to get their music out of your ears There really aren't any complaints. This is my go-to gym location. Not for anything special or spectacular - but because the location is near my home and super convenient. Pros - 1. Kind and friendly staff at the front desk 2. Clean stations and bathrooms/showers 3. Good amount of machines Cons - 1. Extremely over crowded - more so then other locations 2. Too many broken machines 3. Downstairs work out area is very tight and does not accommodate well 4. Upstairs is a decent size but could have been configured differently to maximize the space and give you some elbow room read more

So I am a full access member at Blink and split my time between several locations. Out of all of the locations I have been to, this one is by far the most ill-equipped. If your objective is to do cardio machines, there is a vast and diverse array. The dumbbell section is standard and sufficient although there are two pec deck machines plopped at the end for no reason. On the main lifting floor, there is random jumble of basic machines. Here's the main issue: Most Blinks provide a minimum of 3 squat racks and a cage and a couple bench presses. THERE ARE NO DESIGNATED BENCH PRESSES HERE. NONE. If you want to bench you have to roll an adjustable bench over to the one rack provided it isn't already occupied by some dude quarter squatting. There is ALWAYS a wait for the two places to squat or bench. There are THREE barbells, which is a criminally low number for a gym. The only place to deadlift is directly next to the cage. This makes actual lifting here a nightmare. This Blink needs to purchase a couple benches, a couple more squat racks and like 7 more barbells. Get rid of the useless array of ab and arm machines, or just keep the heavy lifting downstairs and take out the extra row of ellipticals(there are like 30). Organize the space in a way that makes sense. read more

I was NOT a gym goer. At all. But now I am proud to say that BLINK Flatbush turned me into a gym goer and I only regret​ not starting to go sooner! The staff is wonderful and always greets me at the door and answers all of my dumb questions without fail. (esp. Ama and Danielle at the front desk and Rafi my trainer - and yes I even have a trainer now #gymgoal). The entire staff just seems to be super freaking cool and chill and laid​ back and knowledgeable​ and helpful and just fun to be around. (did i mention they answer my dumb questions​?) They made a newbie like me feel comfortable and welcomed. The space​ itself is super functional​ and seems to be perfect​ for newbies​​s like myself​ and advanced enough​ for the seasoned​ gym humans. GO. read more

Super easy online signup. Easier first-time visit/check-in. I was asked for my confirmation number (it's actually the membership ID), they took my photo then handed me my key tag. Viola! That simple. Clean facilities, workout cards (9 total: 3 parts, 3 series) that take the guess work out of fitness for newbies, affordable prices, great hours, convenient located on Flatbush Avenue (train and bus accessible), lots of personal training seemed to be going on, even some eye candy AND you can bring a guest with you any/every time! No complaints. If you're used to a fancier gym, just remember to bring your own lock, sweat and/or shower towel and toiletries. read more

Blink Fitness is like any other NYC gym: in that everything is all fine and well until you try to cancel your membership and there's a surprise $40 annual maintenance fee on top of the 35-day cancellation fee (for a whopping total of $70), even though there's no way in hell the annual maintenance fee could apply to your account (consideration you won't be there for the rest of the year). According to the website, you can only cancel in person with a "Mood Lifter" or by certified mail. Except the "Mood Lifters" have no say and aren't even able to contact Blink's customer service themselves because THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER, only an email address that someone may or may not be checking. Wow, I have been to plenty of blinks but this one has been the best by far. Located in a busy Street which makes parking a little rough but there's buses and trains nearby. There are meters available for all my yelpers who drive, but beware circling the block to look might take longer bc as mentioned, it's a busy street. VERY friendly staff at the front desk who answered questions and helped my friend sign up. Neutral smell, not the foot smell you are sometimes greeted with when walking into a gym. Same with the locker rooms, no complaints with the smell or appearance. I find the placement of the machines to be very cohesive which makes it easier to plan workout splits and move from one machine to the other seamlessly. I found that every machine was at my disposal and I didn't have to wait to use anything! Nice space for stretching, which might be a little tight at peak hours, but there's plenty of space all around to warm up and do your free workouts. I also noticed they had smoother running machines (maybe they're newer?), no buttons or tabs getting stuck when trying to adjust the pads for your body AND they had machines I haven't seen at other blink locations. I went with a friend and it was a beautiful workout experience! Kudos to this Blink! read more

I wish there was an option for no stars. I appreciate a no-frill gym - that's great. But the staff is pretty terrible. I had set an appointment for a PT session and was told to wait upstairs. My trainer showed up 30 minutes late; instead of looking for me, she went and hung out with the other trainers who were loitering around a weight machine. Went I went and found her, she didn't register that being late was a problem. AND she had BATHED in perfume which is a huge no-no for trainers/gym staff. When I spoke to the manager, he didn't seem to understand that it's generally frowned upon for trainers to flake out on their sessions. What the what? The whole Blink system is a joke - you can't get through to talk to anyone. I've been trying to cancel my membership; the 800 number is a MAILBOX where you can leave a message. I sent an email - no one has responded. Of course they won't, the longer the customer service sucks the closer it gets to the first of the month and my billing date. read more

To start the gym is always clean, even at its busiest you will see employees making rounds checking for anything on the floor. Employees themselves are always friendly and motivating. 1 star simply for the cancellation policy/process. This goes for Blink Fitness as a company and not this specific location. The facility itself was fine - the small-medium sized selection of equipment was decent, new and clean. The gym was in a convenient location which is why I signed up for the "premium blue" membership which is a "No Commitment" monthly plan...keep that part in mind. I recently moved and my gym needs have changed so I found the cancel membership option while logging in through the online portal (something I read in previous reviews did not always exist - better late than never, I suppose). Here is where my issue comes in: I am being charged a total of $74.28 to cancel my monthly, non-commitment fee of $23 a month for "premium blue". The numbers broken down include a $59.55 "annual fee" plus a $14.73 "prorated fee". I can get over the prorated charge for cancelling my month-to-month membership, I expected to pay my last month's fees - that's only fair. And don't get me wrong, I have the $74. Money is not the issue here, it's the principle of being charged an "annual fee" to cancel a "no commitment" membership. When emailing the cancellations@blinkfitness address questioning this annual charge, the reasoning was that I "cancelled on or after the 15th of the month which is before the annual billing period." It doesn't answer my question of WHY I am being charged for....you guessed it, an annual fee for a NO COMMITMENT membership. Cancellation seems to be a trend when it comes to Blink Fitness. I have read many reviews online pointing to this issue and each of them include the same automated response from Blink "thanks for taking the time to write a review for Blink Flatbush. We always try to be transparent about our cancellation policy and membership prices upon joining. We apologize if you did not feel like this was the case. If you have any further questions, please reach out to us at blinkms@blinkfitness.com." Which again, this response is meaningless and they are anything BUT transparent regarding their cancellation policy. No commitment should mean no commitment....one should NOT have to get slapped with an annual fee to cancel a gym membership. Looking forward to the same automated response of this review as well. In addition to this, Blink will ask for a reason for cancellation. Typically this wouldn't bother me. I selected "Moving more than 25 miles from a Blink location" which is true. However, selecting this will prompt you with this "We'd be happy to help with canceling your membership via email if you could please supply proof of your relocation, your member id, and your membership email. Valid proof of relocation would include a lease agreement, utility bill, or a newly issued driver's license. Please scan and send the proof via email to cancellations@blinkfitness.com. Once received, we'll gladly assist further"... Excuse me, but no. Moving to a new city has more than enough moving parts to worry about to have to add on sending Blink Fitness of all things a valid proof of relocation and lease agreement. If I want to discontinue my no commitment membership it is my right to do so without having to prove a reason why to some lower-tier, shady gym franchise. I paid the $74. I work a full-time job and run an editing business on the side, I don't have time to send Blink Fitness a utility bill or driver's license. Enjoy that unearned $74, Blink. Lastly, I've read multiple reviews where folks have been charged again and memberships still show up as active even AFTER cancellation. I am making note right now that $74 is the cost to cancel. Fingers crossed that I do not see a cent more on my statement from Blink but I'm not going to get my hopes up considering this other bullshit they put their departing members through. Don't sign anything with this gym unless you either plan on paying unnecessary fees to leave or if you plan on dying there. read more

At $15-20 a month you can't ask for better. PROS Considering that the location is the heart of overcrowded flatbush area, this place is nice and quiet. The staff always greets me and the facility is always clean. I have never had to wait for any machine. I love the fact that many of the machines have televisions so I do not have to rush home to watch my favorite show. The machines are mainly in a different area than the weights. The showers are nice (there is soap). I think there is a fee for towels. -"stash and dash lockers".love it! I live only 3 blocks away and I come from home most of the time so I do not need a large locker. CONS My only negative is that wish they closed later on the weekends. It's a basic good gym. No frills. Lots of cardio machines, a basic weight area that I imagine gets pretty crowded after a certain point in the day. Clean. I went a few times before joining-- they are fairly generous with the guest passes and the day trials, if you want to try it out. Reception staff varies in friendliness. Manager is super nice. Best part? I can walk there and walk home... No more carrying gym clothes around the city! Note: there is a 45 day cancellation policy which is pretty standard. Also I attend in the late AM, which is pretty empty, so no complaints about crowds for me. read more

Came here to use my one day trial pass because today my regular gym was too far from where I was. First, the check in process to use the pass sent through email was not very efficient. One person behind the counter and 6 people waiting to check in. The gym itself was good - great, really. Treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters, free weight area and other machines. The issue I had with this gym was that there were some extremely obnoxious people there -- first I had to deal with someone yapping on a call while doing some pretend cardio. Then the free weights area was crowded with men staring at themselves in the mirror and speaking and laughing loudly. The weight machine area directly in front of both locker rooms was an atrocity to say the least. Sadly, this was the day I forgot my earphones :( I also did not appreciate the tossing of weights on the floor after each set by some of the gym-goers. The attention seeking was intense in this place. Nonetheless, the gym did what it was designed to do and I was able to get my workout in. read more

I used a free workout day with the intention of joining, and was happy with the machines, cleanliness, and general atmosphere. But for whatever reason, this company has chosen to have a pricing structure that is so complicated that I likely will just stay with my gym where I am now, despite it being more expensive and having less equipment. I don't appreciate being "fooled" into paying more than is advertised, and that seems to be this company's jibe. A real shame. Pick a monthly price, knock off all the mysterious and inconsistent join-up, annual, and quit fees, and earn your customers' trust. read more

I like Blink! Way better than the Ballys down the street that is dirty and smells like a foot. The staff at Blink is usually very kind and attentive. The facility is clean and machines are new. I do wish there was a larger, softer mat in the stretch area, or at least smaller mats clients could use for stretching, but I've learned to compromise. I only gave 4 stars because some of the members here have absolutely NO gym etiquette, which can make working out frustrating at times. Now, I know this is not really Blink's fault, just more of an FYI to potential members. If you go during off hours, you'll be fine; but be ready to wait a lonnnng time for a strength training machine during busy hours. I come here often and am a fan. Whenever I bring a friend, they are surprised at how much you get for the money. I think $20 a month for a gym is actually a fair price. Bring your own lock, towel, water, etc. Blink doesn't offer classes, etc. It is your basic no-frills gym. The machines are clean and relatively new. It's Equinox's baby gym chain, I think, so I imagine there is a lot of overflow equipment. A friend who used to attend Crunch likes Blink more. I'm on the plan that lets me use multiple locations, so I've been to a few. Flatbush: This is my home gym. Very sunny and friendly. Bed-Stuy: Been to this one with a friend; also good, if more crowded. Murray Hill: Have used this one before work. It's in a basement and not as positive as the Brooklyn gyms but still serviceable. Herald Square: Nice but way too packed in the morning, particularly in the women's locker rooms. read more
