My happy place. Once I start replacing happy hour and brunches with this hot yoga, a lot of healing can happen once you trust the process to show up. Took me 50+ classes to really feel and understand the benefits of this practice, but it's worth it. It's a wonderful practice that brings you back to yourself in body, mind, and spirit. I cannot recommend the 26&2 practice to all my friends enough. The staff here are outstanding and inspiring to be around. Plus, Laurie is just so funny and a joy to be in the presence of. I've been a member at Purely Hot Yoga for about eight years -- on and off -- but I always find my way back. I started with hot yoga and somehow evolved into a full-on hot pilates hottie ‍. This studio just gets it. The vibes are upbeat, the classes bring the burn, and I love that I never have to battle a waitlist to get in. Shoutout to my two favorite instructors, Cassie V. and Kaitlin L. -- they bring the energy every single time. The music is always fire -- loud in the best way -- which keeps me moving through tough classes, but everything is still approachable for beginners too. Now for the honest cons: the studio aesthetic isn't quite on par with the newer boutique gyms -- no soft lighting or spa-like design moments -- but it is clean, well-kept, and functional. Also, you won't find all the extra workout accessories that some modern studios offer yet (like weights, Pilates rings, or soft Pilates balls), though I've heard weights may be coming soon. Really nice people immediately when you walk in. It was my first time at this studio, and the first time I did hot yoga in probably 4 years. A friend of mine goes to this location as a regular and raves about the classes being taught be genuine people. I felt extremely welcome as a newbie and definitely no judgement as we were going through the poses. There were 26 poses you do 2x each so if you're looking for cardio, this is the place to be!! I was sweating bullets. My knee caps were sweating haha (I know we have pores all over our bodies but come on, my knee caps?!) lol I had a great time and I definitely see myself coming back here. I really enjoy the 4:30 session, most of the people attending were around the same age group but they also have earlier classes and later in the evening classes for people who have to work. I'm sad I can't remember my instructors name but she was awesome! Introduced herself to me before we even started and gave me tips on what to do when I start feeling a certain way. After finishing my introductory month ($79 for your first month for new members), I was hooked. I signed up for a year of unlimited classes at Purely Hot Yoga and I love it! They offer a nice variety of classes: vinyasa, yin, Pilates (both HIIT Pilates and Pilates with weights and bands), and hot yoga. All of their classes have some element of "heat" to them, except yin yoga. They have a nice variety of well-trained instructors, each with their own vibe. Classes are offered throughout the day, seven days a week. Signing up for classes is easy through the app. The studio itself is clean and modern. There are showers, restrooms, and cubbies to store your stuff. I cannot recommend Purely Hot Yoga enough, especially if you are looking to get back into practice after taking some time away, like myself. read more

This update is way overdue. But better late than never? I'm not sure exactly when they made the change, but they no longer have carpet in the room. It's been 2 years since I attended up until recently. The carpet issue was my biggest deterrent and I think for many people also so I'm glad it was changed. The hot pilates class is still amazing! Kerith is an AMAZING instructor. I really only go to her classes because of the times she teaches the hot pilates class (Monday 12 pm and Thursday 6:30 pm). It is a pretty challenging HIIT workout but you feel so good afterwards. Lastly, I appreciate how friendly everyone is that goes here. Everyone is nice, not judge mental, and encouraging. This studio has a team of staff who promptly greet you at the door, run all classes true to schedule, and often open the door for class more than the 15 minutes prior that is clearly stated on their door. I mean, I damn near died the first day, but I survived and I'm here to write about it! LOCATION: In the shopping center known as F65 which is the corner of Folsom Blvd and 65th street. There are several other business nearby like Office Depot, Starbucks and Dos Coyotes. The parking lot has a lot of spaces, but these are the thinnest spaces I've ever seen. I'm struggle to park hot wheels in most of these spaces and the time limits range from 20 min to 2 hours. Be careful where you park. PRICE: The price here is on par with the cost all around the Bikram yoga industry. There's a first-time purchase hookup which is $40 for the entire first month. After that you can look at $20 per drop in or you can buy in bulk for addition discounts. There are student rates here as well. Not sure what all the costs are. FACILITY/DECOR: The facility is clean and newly renovated. It's a smaller studio with only one room, a long and the dressing rooms. The room is orange and their colors are orange and purple. There's water to fill water bottles, towels for rent and merchandise in the lobby. STAFF: Yaaasss!! Everyone here is amazing. Julie, the owner, is just the sweetest, most kind, genuine and caring person in the world. She really makes you feel like family. She leads many of the Bikram classes. There are a few other instructors like Laurie who's so talented and Guillermo who's voice is like a massage to my ear drums. Go back, fall back, way back, more back, change! EXPERIENCE: The moment I walked in on my first day, I was treated like family. I had come with my girlfriend who has been going there for years. I bought my first month and went 6 times. I wish I could've gone more times though, but life waits for no man or woman. Now, as a disabled veteran with spinal stenosis, arthritis, and bulging discs all in my back alone and, there are many physical things I cannot do. In 2 classes, I started to feel well enough to increase my physical activity by 30%! Something about being warmed to the core of our body, gives us another level of flexibility and strength. I'm so grateful that I've found Bikram yoga and had it been at a studio without such amazing people, I don't know if I would've come back because it's no small feat to make it through a class, let alone keep coming back. read more

I love Purely hot. I bounce around trying different Yoga/Pilates studios to find which classes/teachers I like. Even though it's not close to my house, I find myself coming back to Purely hot. It's more expensive than other studios but it's for a reason. The teachers are so great, they work hard and they deserve to be paid well so it's worth the money. My favorite class is Lisa's 6am inferno Pilates on Fridays. Lisa is easy to connect with and she throws out modifications for people with limitations. I love how she thoroughly explains every cycle so I never end up feeling lost in what we're supposed to be doing. read more

I've been going to PHY for the past 3 months. I love the camaraderie of the other yogis and especially the teachers. It truly is a non-judgemental studio and it's awesome to see all people of shapes and sizes there. Just a quick note. Julie, the owner of Purely Hot Yoga, has created a peaceful, tranquil, and beautiful space for yogis to practice. I started my yoga practice seven years ago at another studio which did not make it through COVID. To my good fortune, I discovered Purely Hot Yoga (PHY) a year and a half ago while searching online. I was excited as I had been without a studio for over a year, and I immediately drove to PHY. Upon my arrival, there were no classes in session, and the doors were locked. I saw Julie cleaning the floor, so I knocked hard on the door. She then became aware of me and came smiling to greet me. She gave me a tour as I related my yoga history. During the walk-around, I was first impressed with the calming beauty of the space's architecture, color selections, and its cleanliness. Now, after a year and a half at PHY, I can report on what I have personal experience with pertaining to their operation. I practice about 4-5 times a week, and their schedule is varied enough that I can find a class that works for me. Also, Julie has gathered a deep bench of skilled instructors. I've been practicing yoga for over 17 years. I used to live in southern California where there are hundreds of yoga studios and I've been to countless studios. I can honestly say that this studio is the best yoga studio that I have ever been to because the level of heat in each class is perfect and because of the enthusiasm and commitment of the teachers, especially when they teach the 90 min classes. Teaching a 90 min class in intense heat is not easy yet the teachers do such an amazing job and it seems that they really care about their students. It is a privilege to have this yoga studio nearby. This studio boasts some of the best yoga teachers that I have ever experienced. I am mind blown every time that I leave their 90 min class because of the level of commitment and enthusiasm that all teachers demonstrate in their respective classes and not just in the 90 minute class but the other classes also. The star player is definitely the owner Laurie Popovac. Not only is she my favorite teacher but her customer service is extraordinary. She has gone out of her way to make me feel comfortable and a part of this amazing community of yogis. Terrible business practices. Only yoga studio I know of classes expire after one month. I did five classes in one month pass, the last day of the month I lost a class, they added it back, then I decided not to renew, they charged a different credit card without telling me, I demanded classes they only let me use three before expired again . If you want a good way to detox and don't mind sweating 3 lbs, Purely Hot Yoga (PHY) is a great studio and one of my favorites in Sacramento! During the pandemic, they have offered classes virtually, and have taken many precautions so I felt safe to go in also when they reopened. Julie, the owner, is very friendly and provides feedback without being overly critical. Tany and Laurie also great instructors who help finesse your forms and always have a cheerful attitude. The online reservation system makes it easy to book a class and know that there will be space whether you attend in person or virtually. Yoga has helped me be more mindful and grateful in these crazy times, and whether you are more comfortable practicing in the comfort of your home with a live class, or in the heated room, PHY is a great place to start practicing mindfulness! read more

Let me preface this by saying that I love yoga & have been practicing for years. I've visited many studios, and my experience here was the poorest by far. The practice of Bikram has a reputation for being strict - I knew that going in. But the behavior of Kerith, my instructor for the two classes I took at Purely Hot Yoga, was appalling. It was my first Bikram class in a few years, so I was nervous coming into the studio. I didn't really know what to expect, and, as a new student, I wanted to listen to my body during the practice (which is what yoga is all about). This proved to be extremely difficult, because during the class Kerith repeatedly made pointed and rude comments towards me. I was next to her near the front of the room, and when I would take a variation on a pose she would say things like, "THAT'S NOT BIKRAM" and "When I'm in vinyasa I DO VINYASA. You're in Bikram SO RESPECT THE PRACTICE." Throughout the class, she seemed to be focusing on me and would constantly make comments towards me whenever I was doing something "wrong." Keep in mind that she's saying these things at full volume in front of the class while I'm trying to contort myself into strange shapes at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Thank god I knew most of the postures - I can only imagine how vulnerable and humiliated new students would feel. And actually, she did this to other people too - one struggling woman at the front of the class only had a towel with her, and Kerith loudly chastised her in front of everyone for not having a mat. I don't know why that poor woman didn't have a mat (Maybe she doesn't have the money to buy one? Maybe she was expecting the studio to have mats?), but because of Kerith her yoga practice most likely didn't leave her feeling empowered. Throughout the class, Kerith seemed to find perverse pleasure in humiliating other people while they were in literally vulnerable positions. And the worst of it is yet to come! I didn't have a water bottle with me that day, and I didn't have the money to buy a water (I'm a broke college student), so I left the class briefly and asked for a plastic cup to fill with water from the studio's communal cooler. I got a cup, filled it, and quietly went back into the class. The moment Kerith saw me, she spent a FULL MINUTE chastising me for getting a plastic cup of water. Apparently, the plastic cups "are for THE KOMBUCHA TAP ONLY" and I'm "NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE THEM" because they "COST MONEY". Cost money?!?! Did she want 5 cents?? She then told me that if I wanted water for this 90 minute 100+ degree yoga class, I needed to buy a SmartWater or a HydroFlask. I sure as hell don't have $60 cash to shell out for the hydroflasks they sell there - I don't even have $3! I'm just a girl trying to get some yoga in my day! Not only is Kerith's behavior offensive to young and low-income folks, it's dangerous. Bikram heat is no joke and people can get seriously sick without water at those temperatures. Publicly humiliating people for drinking water from the cooler is a recipe for disaster. Apparently, Purely Hot Yoga is sending the message that yoga is only for privileged rich people who can afford to buy their overpriced necessities (water, mats, towels, and evidently kombucha). Other things you should know about before shelling out $25 for a drop in: the yoga room is carpeted, so it consistently smells sweaty and gross. They don't provide mat cleaner spray or towels for cleaning your mat. /rant over read more

What a lovely place to do some 26&2 Bikram yoga! I've been to this place many times in the past, and I keep on seeming to crave this type of sequencing and holds. I try to come as often as I can. What is the best part of this? Feeling like you are about to transform into something, in my case, a stronger and a more congruent version of myself. Instructors are friendly and are happy to help. There's only one room but they offer a lot of classes throughout the day. No colored drinks allowed so that means no Gatorade. There is a water cooler to refill water which is nice. Most studios I've been to charge for water. The room smells like armpit since the carpet retains the sweat. This review is long overdue. I'm a longtime Bikram practitioner and I've practiced at this studio for 4 years. They have a variety of classes, but I go primarily for the 90 minute Bikram classes. So many studios have shortened their Bikram classes to 75 minutes and I like at Purely Hot that the large majority of Bikram classes are 90 minutes. The extra 15 minutes does something for me. There are a lot of longtime practitioners here who are dedicated and considerate. I feel at home at Purely Hot and got to know people gradually; there is no forced, "instant", community which I have felt at other yoga studios. I also like that there is a sense of discipline at this studio and that teachers will politely tell students when they are doing something that is not appropriate. (Perhaps this is where some of the bad reviews come from. People don't like to be called out on their own bad behavior.) Yoga is a group practice. Your actions will affect your fellow practitioners and there's always a few people who don't understand that. Purely Hot calls people out in a polite way (when appropriate) for the sake of a cohesive group practice. Finally, the owner - Julie Havelock - works very hard to ensure the studio and locker rooms are clean and that the studio runs efficiently. I went here the other day with my class pass (check out classpass.com) because I had never tried Bikram. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and by pleasant, I mean very hard. The instructor on Sunday mornings is very kind and patient as she walks all the students through their postures. However, the only reason I cannot give this studio 5 stars is the fact that the room smells a bit moldy. I read more into this issue online, and bikram studios should not smell like mold. They should be treating their carpet with anti bacterial sprays and cleaning. All the students were great, it was a challenging class and the studio was nice. I would just make the recommendation to the studio about the smell. read more

I never thought I'd be the type of person who did yoga, or I never thought I would buy into any of the stuff yoga teaches. I went to my first HOT yoga class at Purely Hot Yoga as part of their buddy pass special then hopped on their 30 day special. I had done yoga before. My previous experience with yoga was not one of self-discovery, mindfulness, or acceptance. I didn't expect to like it. But my friend had invited me, it was like $10 for 5 days to try it out.. so I figured it was worth a try... I had nothing to lose! In that first class (inferno pilates) I sweat my ass off. Seriously I didn't know I could sweat this much!! By about the 3/4 mark of the class I could barely move - breathing just through my nose was a challenge. But i kept at it.. been coming back every day since, sometimes twice or more in one day. Back to back classes are not for the faint of heart lol, but the workouts are always complimentary - so if you do Bikram followed by Pilates for instance you'll work out different muscle groups and when you finally make it out you'll feel great. After a week - how do I feel?? Truly amazing!! Sometimes it's either stay up all night working and thinking about work or take a sedative but not any more - any day I do Hot Yoga I get the best sleep let me tell ya :) All in all props to Julie for running such a great studio and to all the instructors too. She abruptly and rudely asked my friend and I to leave the yoga room while she was conducting some sort of photo shoot. She acted as if we should have known. First off, please do not be discouraged by their website. My friend and I had a hard time purchasing our class online but the issue was quickly resolved when we got there. This place is so darn cute. Very well decorated and super clean. You feel relaxed right when you walk in the place. The staff is so friendly. The owner over heard my friend and I say it was our first visit so she took the liberty to show us around the place and tell us a little bit about Bikram yoga. So hot yoga...boy oh boy I did not know what I was getting myself into. I was kind of startled when people from the previous class came out drenched in sweat. I literally did not realize you sweat that much. The class room does not seem that hot when you get in there but once you start moving around you quickly feel the heat. I did not do so well in the room and had to sit down through most of the class because I felt light headed. The staff suggested to me that I drink more water and eat something small maybe a hour before class. Overall, very cute place. If I could stand the heat and my curly hair would not frizz up every time I took a class I would for sure come back again. read more

I was going to try this place one more time, but definitely not! Love this studio. The classes and teachers are great but the prices and packages are becoming way too expensive recently. Also, the Bikram classes are offered at very inconvenient times for people who work. They should offer a 60 minute Bikram class after 5 pm on weeknights. I've heard many members want this as well. I wish the prices and schedule were better but the classes are wonderful and everyone is super nice and it is always clean. They also require a mask if you're not vaccinated, which is awesome, but they don't seem to be checking it at the classes so not sure it is useful. read more

Love this studio. I've been coming here since 2015. The prices are a bit up there but it's so worth it. All the instructors here are amazing and unique in their own teaching styles. They can really motivate you to make a change in yourself, and the community here is great too. Everyone's so nice and friendly, and very welcoming. Also, the facility is always clean which is a huge plus for me. They offer a variety of classes here. Bikram yoga (hot yoga), vinyasa flow, yin yoga, and inferno hot pilates (my fav!!) Occasionally they'll have really cool classes like yoga nidra taught by guest teachers. After my first month of doing Bikram yoga I noticed a number of changes in my body. She faithfully does yoga, it's a part of her lifestyle, I tried it for myself, but would always end up falling asleep...especially in the hot classes, too low impact for me. I use to hate to sweat until I did Bikram Yoga. The way Bikram yoga makes you sweat is different from spending hours at the gym. When you sweat in that 102 temperate room it's more like releasing your toxin. You feel great after class is over! The instructors are great and friendly, they're always willing to answer your questions with a smiley face. I love how the studio keeps their place so clean which makes me feel comfortable to take a shower after class. But sometimes the class gets so crowded that it ruins my mood. I have brought my friends and family which most of them have join the studio. We all love coming here to just release our stress and just detox. The instructors are great, they each have their own style of teaching. You'll end up finding that one instructor who makes your class enjoyable and begin looking forward to their classes. $40 for 1st time (Unlimited) $60 for student (Unlimited) $79 for Family discount (Unlimited) *TIPS* Make sure you drink tons of water before class out thur the day Do NOT eat at least 3 hours before class Bring a body towel to place over your yoga mat because you will drip sweat on to it. read more

I love this studio. I have been coming here for almost 4 months and although many would think that the Bikram Style may be a bit repetitive, the different instructors help with the variety of the class, at least for the first couple of months. I love how the staff remembers everyone's names and uses verbal cues to assists in alignment and posture readjustments. Personally, I don't mind when studio assistants at other hot yoga studios come over and physically move your body, but I can see if this may make people a little squeamish, especially when you are covered in sweat. Although I really feel at home at this studio, I am still deciding to cancel my membership. I just wish that they offered another kind of hot yoga class other than Bikram to change things up a bit. They do have Yin Yoga, but as a runner first, and yogi second, I don't feel like I would obtain the same mental and physical challenges as a Bikram or Running session. If only they had like, two Vinyasa classes a week, I would never leave this studio! read more
