Dr. Farid has completely changed my life. I have never written a review before but the world needs to know! I literally cried (of happiness!!!) during my first appointment with her, and on several occasions since. After years of dental problems - severe TMJ, repeated fractured teeth, crowns that I would grind out of my mouth in my sleep despite multiple different mouth guards - I decided to try a new dentist and found Dr. Farid. Instead of telling me how we would fix each individual problem that I was having, she told me we needed to change how my mouth works as a whole. I was floored - in all the years of going to numerous dentists, no one had EVER suggested that my mouth could be fixed! She laid out a plan for how we would accomplish this and told me the end result would be teeth that are functional and beautiful. It has been somewhat of a long journey, but right on point with the expectations she set during that first meeting, and I can now say that she came through on her promise and, somehow, more. Thinking about all she has done for me brings tears to my eyes every time. She saw me as a whole person instead of looking at a tooth or a cavity that needed to be fixed. She takes so much care in her work, and always gave me as many options as she could to make me as comfortable as possible. And she never ever made me feel rushed, no matter how many questions I had or how many times after an appointment I called with more follow up questions. As if all that isn't enough, her team completes this perfect package. Her dental hygienist, Nataliya, and her receptionist, Rhonda, are incredibly warm, welcoming, and professional, and were all-in sharing the excitement with me each time we reached a new milestone in my treatment plan. I truly feel like I have a forever-(dental)home at Purely Smiles and I will sing their praises until my dying day. I went in to get a bridge re cemented. The office is nice and the dr is nice, but they didn't cement the crown in properly. She only checked the bite a few times. Now all my crowns and bridge is worn down and has holes because it wasn't cemented correctly. Now I have at least $15,000 worth of dental work to be done. I called the office and left a vm explaining what happened. I used to be a dental assistant. You have to check the bite to make sure it's not hitting other teeth and dental work so this doesn't happen. I never got a call back and now I'm stuck with a big expense. read more

Dr. Farid is a talented dentist, has a great bedside manner, and spends time with you answering any questions. All of the hygienists and staff members are also very kind and thorough. The office is very clean and I appreciate the thorough sanitary measures to prevent covid or other illness spreading. I've also never experienced any kind of upselling or push for procedures like I have with other dentists, I think they're honest and truly care about what's best for you. I usually don't write a review on a dental office because most offices have good service but Purely Smiles is exceptional. I am writing my review based on my first regular cleaning as a new patient. The whole team from Rhonda at the front desk to Dr. Farid, Victoria and Anna (assistants) are absolutely amazing. I felt so welcomed, not rushed and most important listened to. Dr. Farid is very down to earth person. She took her time to give me a dental check and listened to all my concerns. She didn't push any treatment but rather gave options. My teeth were very thoroughly cleaned. I have been to a few dental offices in Park Ridge and this is my best teeth cleaning experience. Also, since I don't have dental insurance, I find their prices reasonable. I think I finally found a great dentist for my whole family. I can't recommend Purely Smiles enough. read more

It is very clean, everyone wers masks and all the ladies are the friendliest ever. The extraction was practically painless and her office offers a decent annual package rate for cleanings & x-rays that was a good deal for me since i had no dental insurance. I had been planning on switching dentists for a while, and have been procrastinating. Well, today the composite broke on my front tooth which was rather unsightly. I called them and they were able to get me in today. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in the right place. Rhonda was everything I had read in the reviews, the dental staff was wonderful, and Dr. Farid? WOW. I'm a heavy tooth grinder and have a lot of erosion. Instead of just fixing that one tooth and sending me on my way, she discussed a plan going forward for both my dental health and from a cosmetic perspective. She will be putting together the best treatment plan for me, and I will be going back to see her in a couple of weeks. This is the first time that I have actually felt hopeful, and I'm looking forward to having a smile that I'm not self-conscious about. From the moment you walk through the door, Rhonda greets you with a smile and has you only fill out 1-2 sheets; so much better than the usual 3-5 pages at other practices. Once you get into your dental chair, Agata takes your 4 x-rays and has you review and fill out any medical history on the computer screen so there's no more paper generated. Once your x-rays are done, Dr. Koh introduces herself and begins the pain-free dental exam. She's nice, sweet, and thorough! She knew that I only had 2-3 cavities in my lifetime and thankfully no mouth cancer. They give you a pair of orange colored glasses to wear and they use a bright fluorescent light device to scan your mouth for cancer. Once your exam is done, Dr. Koh performs your dental cleaning personally with Agata's assistance. She makes the cleaning process pain-free and your mouth feels so clean when she's done. During my cleaning, Dr. Koh asked if I recently changed my mouthwash/toothpaste and I did. She told me that the recent change may have caused more build-up and that I probably should switch back; now that's what I call "attention to detail!" Rhonda, the office manager, was a breath of fresh air. I was calling area endodontists to get a feel for the "root canal market" and I was fortunate enough to have a ten minute chat with Rhonda. She was pleasant, informative and extremely helpful in assisting me in my quest. Rhonda's enthusiasm is a huge plus in my opinion of her office. I love this office and staff. I tried another dentist in the area since I recently moved and wasn't very happy. When I saw the reviews for Purely Smiles, I thought well that sounds too good, but let me try it out. While I was sitting there waiting for x-rays, I listened to the staff interact with one another. In listening I was pleasantly surprised at the words being used by customers calling the staff "extraordinary" and the way the staff were talking to one another with respect, very professionally, yet warm and friendly. Rhonda the office manager is a gem. She knows exactly what she's doing, which is a welcome relief when you're trying to figure out final out of pocket costs. I didn't fully realize just how much customer service has declined in other places, until I was listening to staff interact with clients. They really worked with my schedule, which was very nice! Because I know it's the end of the year and everybody's trying to get work done. I met with Dr. Koh and she was wonderful as well. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the person that did the x-rays, but again, great service. So if you wanna find a gem of an office where things are still done right, go here. I will see about switching my children over to Purely Smiles as well as recommend them to friends or family. Parking may be a problem so arrive early! read more

I too my daughters to Dr. Koh. My daughters absolutely hate to go to the dentist. Our pediatric dentist moved far from our house and I was looking for a reliable and great dentist. Ms. Rhonda helped me to answer many questions. She mad sure I was comfortable with my decision to bring my daughters. I learned that all of the staff including hygienist are with Dr. Koch for a long time. That was a big deal to me because it told me they had a great team. They really were. My very strong willed younger daughter was able to extract two teeth with no pain. She was dramatic but eventually with patience from Dr. Koh and Ms. Rhonda, she did it! I just came in here the other day as a new patient and was blown away by how great this place is. I've been putting off finding a new dentist after I moved until I received 2 mail advertisements for dentists in the area on the same day. One was Parkside Dental in Des Plaines and the other was Purely Smiles. I ended up calling Parkside first because it was a little closer to my house. To put it short, the receptionist who answered the phone was plain rude and didn't understand that some people have actual jobs and didn't get why I couldn't accept a 10 AM appointment on a Wednesday. I then hung up and immediately called Purely Smiles. Rhonda, the receptionist, was fantastic and got me in right away. She even called me back a few days later because a time that I originally wanted became available. I've never had a receptionist be so personable. Elizabeth, the dental assistant, is very knowledgeable and explains everything she is going to do to your mouth before she does it. Lastly, Dr. Koh is extremely kind and clearly knows what she's doing. Hands down the best dentist office I've ever been to. I'd give more than 5 stars if it was an option! read more

I love my dentist!! I never thought I'd say that, but it's true. It's true because I drive 45 minutes to Purely Smiles. I never went to the dentist regularly because I always hated it. Noone ever made me feel as comfortable as Dr. Koh and her associates. I told them that I have a fear of teeth (not only mine, but others as well) and they did everything to help me relax and not fear the procedures. I'm always greeted with a smile and they call me by name (I'm not sure if that's good or bad! I've only been going for a year!) After many years of not being satisfied with my dentist I decided to try Dr. Koh and I wish I would have done that sooner. I found out some of the things that were thought to be a big problem were not a problem at all and I found that some things that were a problem were never detected by my past dentist. I got a good vibe as soon as I walked in. I was greeted in a very welcoming manner, which eases your anxiety right there. I didn't wait long before my exam and cleaning and felt that it was a lot more thorough of a job than I've had before. I went in for a normal cleaning and to find a new dentist. I did not have to wait long in the waiting area which is always a good thing. When I walked in, it seems very clean. I love that I can see the xrays on a monitor instead of the small xray film that my previous dentist did. So after the cleaning, which felt like a thorough job, Dr. Koh was able to show me on the monitor where I have some issues to take care of. It was much easier to see on the monitor.
