Came in to get skis for our upcoming trip. I must come in at wrong time because the young man working was by himself and seemed to be multi-tasking with a customer, phone calls and us. I filled out the rental waiver and he said he would get some help. No one helped and we left after 15 minutes of him on the phone. I don't know who is running the place now, but two thumbs down. The sales agent (Megan) in the Chatham store not only honored the discount she helped me pick out some items that were out of stock , wrapped the items and sent it to me. After recently relocating to Cape Cod I was introduced to Puritan by friends who invited me to attend one of their events... Ladies night out! I've been shopping at Puritan, Hyannis for a number of years and would highly recommend them to anyone who's looking for not only high quality clothing, but who's looking for friendly, knowledgeable and professional assistance as well. They will cater to your desired shopping experience: if you want a personalized approach they will take the time to learn about your style and will offer options to fit your stye and need. If you prefer a hands off approach they will let you shop in peace (very nice when compared to other high pressure men's clothing stores). But what really sets Puritan apart for me is how they handle instances where things don't go well. I've had 2 such cases. After the first instance I left feedback on the Puritan website and within 10 minutes I received a call from the President of Puritan (Rick Penn). I was pleasantly surprised that the president of the company would take the time to ensure I was happy. In the second instance (a defective boot that has been discontinued) Michael and Kerry went above and beyond working first with a cobbler then with the manufacturer to ensure I was taken care of. The best clothing store on the cape, if not in New England. Great selection of brands and clothing for both men, women and even kids. They have sports and ski clothes, as well as tennis and sailing clothes. Great suits and dress wear. The staff is very friendly, but proper. The prices are not low, but they do have sales and the brands they carry are not cheap anywhere. Quality clothing and shoes. The store is very light and bright and cheery with a great layout. It is very open and easy to browse. It is not intimidating at all to shop there. They have entrances in the back and on main street for easy access. They have great brands and styles you won't find anywhere else. They are hands down the only place on the Cape to shop for suits. After visiting casually and browsing I decided to buy some gifts with my wife at Puritans. They're convenient on Main Street and also have plenty of places for guys to grab a snack or beverage next door while their wife shops. The clothes are definitely upscale and not for the price conscious. But you know what? You get what you pay for! It's the only place on Cape Cod that I've found that sells Canada Goose winter jackets and they're among the best you can get. Also was turned on to Pantherella English socks which are all wool and about as comfortable as wearing slippers. Do yourself a favor and check out Puritans. read more

If there was a 10 star option I would give Puritan a 10! My Dad passed away yesterday from C19 and I wanted to buy him a new suit to dress him up for his journey. No retail stores were open and no delivery options. As a long standing customer of Puritan I gave them a call, they were closed due to C19 but they had an ext to customer service where I left a message to explain the circumstances. I got a call back in literally 5 min from Laura who was awesome. She arranged for me to speak w the owner and President of Puritan, Rick Penn, who nailed it for me. He had pulled together a Samuelson two piece suit, Donahue shirt, Eton tie and pocket square, Edmund shoes, socks, etc. and arranged curbside pick up. This is a 100 year old third generation business built on customer service and how rare is it that an owner would so completely exceed expectations...too rare indeed. I am a customer for life and I encourage everyone to support Puritan on Cape Cod! read more

I had only gone in for something small and had no real Idea where to find it. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and then given directions for what I was looking for. I still had a little trouble finding it and someone came and helped me through the whole process even explaining my options to me. Very personable staff and I never once was made to feel like I was interrupting which does happen when shopping. read more

Cute merchandise, like the layout of the store, but horrid, unacceptable service. During the time I was in there looking for gifts and a bridal shower dress with my daughter, we were amongst 2 other patrons in the store and 6 (visible) clerks. Not a single associate acknowledged us, let alone asked if we needed help during the 20 minutes we looked around. I can easily pick up similar gifts, a cute dress, and Vineyard Vines merchandise somewhere else. I refuse to toss my business to a shop that does not take the the time to even greet its customers. read more

Claim to have lifetime service on suits, which is why I pay a good chunk of change for each suit, however on the last three instances I've had issues with my suits they suddenly "cannot repair". Used to be my go to shop, now it's proving to be dishonest. Will bring my business elsewhere, sad to see service go so far downhill here. read more

I got tuxedos for my wedding from the Hyannis store and I can't say enough about Puritan, namely Michael B. They went above and beyond my expectations throughout the whole process. Starting with their expert advice during my initial visit, and ending with their offer to show up on the wedding day (a Saturday) to make sure everything was in order. Quite a few of my groomsmen were out of state, but Puritan handled the sizing of the tuxes and payment seamlessly. I would strongly recommend using Puritan for your tuxes or suits if planning a Cape wedding. read more

Great brands and helpful sales staff but way overpriced! Everything sells for manufacturers suggested retail, so when they have an item on "sale" its marked down to other stores regular retail price. When shopping for clothes I go to the Hyannis store and use it as a dressing room - I find what I like and try it on to get my size. I then go online and save 20, 30, even 50 dollars depending on the item. If shopping locally is your thing, don't bother stopping at Puritan, drive the extra mile to Macys in Hyannis, they stock the exact same clothes at 15-40% off! read more

As a native Cape Codder I have been to the Puritans in Hyannis countless times. I love the North Face attire for both my husband and myself. What I do not like is being treated like a pauper not worthy of shopping there by salespeople that ignore me or talk down to me. I was reminded by the same salesperson multiple times if I wear it out of the store I can not return it. Wherever you purchase a name brand like North Face it will be nice so I do not need to shop where I will be treated like a third class person on the Titanic. If Puritans chooses not to treat the winter/year round locals with respect that is their option. I buy my coat and leave and do not encourage others to shop there. They do hem pants as needed but others do that also. In the days of online shopping I would suggest maybe Puritans rethink how they treat the people that live on the Cape year round and ask the sales people to not judge a book by its cover and treat every customer with respect. read more
